while i was in fact vomiting, i got a sudden and severe headache in the back of my head, enough to back me seriously sit back. my first thought was of course "oh know, i've popped something" i don't want to be over reacting over something brought on only by the vomiting, but then again i can't be too sure. there seems to be a small pressure still in my head where the headache started. if anyone haves any ideas, i would greatly appriciate it. thank you.
Hi! Headache, neck pain, dizziness, vomiting could be due to compression of the spinal nerves in the cervical spine region. This can happen due to overuse of computers, work involving straining of neck, herniated disc, canal stenosis, bone disease, spondylosis, poor posture etc. A MRI of the cervical spine and nerve conduction studies may be required. Please consult a neurologist. The treatment is to remove the compression.
Pain in one half of head can be due to migraine, near and far sightedness and sinusitis, dental pain, TMJ, pinched nerve in the neck or due to cluster headache. You will need a MRI of the brain and cervical spine to rule out a brain pathology and spinal nerve compression. Please discuss this with a neurologist. Take care! The medical advice given should not be considered a substitute for medical care provided by a doctor who can examine you.

My brother's been suffering from neck pain radiating to the back of his head. He had undergone MRIs of brain and neck but the findings appeared normal except for straightening of cervical spine secondary to muscle spasm, same findings were found on his EMG - NVC (extremities only), just mild muscle spasm and cervical x-ray shows straightening of cervical spine.
I'm also having neck stiffness and pain. The more intense the pain the more dazed and confused I become. I feel like I'm walking around in a haze all the time. My words and thought processes are slowed and hard to put together. I have a low fever, nothing higher then 100 and only have had a few times where I've felt nauseous. I had some one state that this could be a sign of viral meningitis. Could this be that or is there something else I should be concerned about?

The Neurology and Neurosurgery Forum Topic: Neurology - General Subject: Dizzy, headache, neck pain/ache From To Post trixmouse 01/12/2007 . I'm a 33 yr old female and about a year ago I started feeling extremely dizzy. I wouldn't describe it as room spinning dizzy, more like I feel like my head is in a snow globe and someone is shaking it, very spacey. The first "episode" lasted about 5-6 weeks.

I doubt MRI will show anything. I am going after neck right now (because of stiff neck and pain) and see if I can get any relief from PT etc., Sometimes neck can cause all kinds of problems and there is even cervical vertigo which is tough to diagnose and treat. I let you know if anything works.
Dr Sharma thank you for your advise and suggestion. Now a days, my headache is accompanied with neck pain on the same side. Also, my headache transforms from one side to other side. For example, if i get headache on my right side and if i have analgesic it will be cured in right side. But i will get headache on my left side by same day or next day. I took my MRI report for second opinion to a neurologist.
I thought they were just from not sleeping enough or from tension in my neck from sleeping on the couch but last night the pain was so intense I was having trouble sleeping and I felt nauseous. This morning I vomited and had a fever which broke late in the evening but I still have extremely painful headache -- migrane? with light sensitivity? What is it and how do I make it go away?
I forgot to mention in the doctors post that I have wisdom teeth coming in, which could somehow be related I suppose. I do not have any dizziness/vertigo/vomiting/nausea/upset stomach/muscle pain nothing but a sore throat, horrible headache, and stiff/hurting neck. I am 22, I have a 7 month old daughter, I am 115-120 Lbs 5'3 and there is cancer in my family, but all theirs was to do with smoking and I am a nonsmoker and so is my husband. Thanks so much.

But currently there isn't any headache pains, just a really sharp pain in the back of my head. I'll be fine one moment and then I'll move or do something with my head and I'll all of the sudden get this really sharp pain in the back of my head. Is this how a brain tumor starts?
sorry no never have a spinal tap.
About a week ago I woke with a stiff neck on the left side. Since then the neck pain has gone away but has been replaced by pain on the left side of my skull. This is not like a headache. My skull hurts to the point that when I wake I hold my head to lift it off the pillow. After I am up for a while it goes away only to come back when I lay down. I have changed pillows thinking that could be the problem but no relief. any ideas?
I also had a blood patch last week and am having neck pain and a headache on the back right side of my head. When I put my hand on my forehead and push with my head against my hand it's instant pain the second I back off the pressure against my hand. I also can push on the top back part of my head straight down and when I release I almost faint. Does anyone know if I need another patch? Please god I hope not.
The headaches are not sensitive to sound or light, but can be irritated by impact motion (such as walking up the stairs or hitting a bump in the car), but the pain is not irritated by repsitioning my neck. I had a high-field brain MRI which came back negative of abnormalities.
During this illness I woke up in the middle of the night shaking, which I believe was due to the fever. Then the headache came the next morning along with the stiff neck. They were worse than ever. The headache was the same one in the back of my head. The head and neck aches subsided the next afternoon but my head was not the same. On the first day, my vision felt different, slightly blurry and I was unable to focus. I felt dizzy and very irritable. Snapping at my boyfriend if he touched me.
EARLIER I POSTED ABOUT HAVING PAIN IN MY HEAD AND NECK. IT IS ABOUT 1 WEEK AFTER THE CAR ACCIDENT. I HAVE REALLY BAD PAIN IN MY HEAD AND CANT GET TO DOCTOR TILL 11TH. I AM STILL IN A CONCUSSIVE STATE. SHOULD I BE WORRIED? IS THIS NORMAL TO HAVE SUCH PAIN AFTER A HEAD TRUAMA? IT IS REALLY SHARP AND IS IN THE SAME SIDE I HIT IN THE ACCIDENT. I AM SCARED THAT THIS MIGHT BE SERIOUS.
I get eye, neck and head pain. Migraine like with occasional vomiting. I recommend a heavy dose of magnesium and hyssop tea with raw honey. And stay out of the rain and misty weather.....I used to love the rain, now I hate it due to them spraying that garbage everywhere and making us sick. Checkout the increase in emergency room visits on days it rains now and research chem trails.
I am a 20 year old female and I have suffered from unilateral headaches for as long as I can remember. The headaches are always the same: the pain is on the front, right side of my head, covering about a palm sized area, with pain radiating around and behind my right eye and temple.
