Avatar n tn while i was in fact vomiting, i got a sudden and severe headache in the back of my head, enough to back me seriously sit back. my first thought was of course "oh know, i've popped something" i don't want to be over reacting over something brought on only by the vomiting, but then again i can't be too sure. there seems to be a small pressure still in my head where the headache started. if anyone haves any ideas, i would greatly appriciate it. thank you.
Avatar f tn Hi! Headache, neck pain, dizziness, vomiting could be due to compression of the spinal nerves in the cervical spine region. This can happen due to overuse of computers, work involving straining of neck, herniated disc, canal stenosis, bone disease, spondylosis, poor posture etc. A MRI of the cervical spine and nerve conduction studies may be required. Please consult a neurologist. The treatment is to remove the compression.
Avatar f tn Pain in one half of head can be due to migraine, near and far sightedness and sinusitis, dental pain, TMJ, pinched nerve in the neck or due to cluster headache. You will need a MRI of the brain and cervical spine to rule out a brain pathology and spinal nerve compression. Please discuss this with a neurologist. Take care! The medical advice given should not be considered a substitute for medical care provided by a doctor who can examine you.

Avatar n tn I have a headache on right side in eye, head, ear, and goes to neck and jaw. not daily. For 3 or 4 days, there is none, but when it comes, pain is intense and Tylenol does not help. My eyes are runny. Headache does not interfere with my sleep. I had headache since October. It began with a cold and I thought it was sinus, then allergy so I took claritan D and Flonase. And this did not help. Had ct scan (normal).
Avatar n tn I'm also having neck stiffness and pain. The more intense the pain the more dazed and confused I become. I feel like I'm walking around in a haze all the time. My words and thought processes are slowed and hard to put together. I have a low fever, nothing higher then 100 and only have had a few times where I've felt nauseous. I had some one state that this could be a sign of viral meningitis. Could this be that or is there something else I should be concerned about?
Avatar f tn Hi, How are you? Migraine headaches indeed may present with throbbing headaches. It is also associated with nausea, vomiting and sensitivity to light and sounds. If the pain is not relieved by your medicine or persists, it is best that you have this checked by your doctor for proper evaluation. Direct clinical and neurological examination are important. Diagnostic tests such as MRI or CT scan may also help. Take care and regards.
Avatar n tn My brother's been suffering from neck pain radiating to the back of his head. He had undergone MRIs of brain and neck but the findings appeared normal except for straightening of cervical spine secondary to muscle spasm, same findings were found on his EMG - NVC (extremities only), just mild muscle spasm and cervical x-ray shows straightening of cervical spine.

I'm a 33 yr old female and about a year ago I started feeling extremely dizzy. I wouldn't describe it as room spinning dizzy, more like I feel like my head is in a snow globe and someone is shaking it, very spacey. The first "episode" lasted about 5-6 weeks.
Avatar f tn Hello Dear, There could be various causes for the headache like migraine, neuralagic pain, tension headaches, degenerative spine changes etc Is nausea, vomiting associated with the headache? You can also try for sumatriptan in combination with NSAID like naproxen .You should consult a neurologist as your symptoms seem to have a neurological cause.
Avatar m tn I have the same popping, headache, vomiting. Unbearable pain! I have had neck surgery for another issue along with many steroid shots. All has helped to lessen the intensity. Still around my menstral cycle it is at it worst. What is going on in there and is there anyway to head it off before it starts. I take sumatriptan, it helps but after its already started.

1556140 tn?1311850127 I doubt MRI will show anything. I am going after neck right now (because of stiff neck and pain) and see if I can get any relief from PT etc., Sometimes neck can cause all kinds of problems and there is even cervical vertigo which is tough to diagnose and treat. I let you know if anything works.
Avatar m tn Dr Sharma thank you for your advise and suggestion. Now a days, my headache is accompanied with neck pain on the same side. Also, my headache transforms from one side to other side. For example, if i get headache on my right side and if i have analgesic it will be cured in right side. But i will get headache on my left side by same day or next day. I took my MRI report for second opinion to a neurologist.

Avatar n tn I forgot to mention in the doctors post that I have wisdom teeth coming in, which could somehow be related I suppose. I do not have any dizziness/vertigo/vomiting/nausea/upset stomach/muscle pain nothing but a sore throat, horrible headache, and stiff/hurting neck. I am 22, I have a 7 month old daughter, I am 115-120 Lbs 5'3 and there is cancer in my family, but all theirs was to do with smoking and I am a nonsmoker and so is my husband. Thanks so much.
445029 tn?1205109028 I thought they were just from not sleeping enough or from tension in my neck from sleeping on the couch but last night the pain was so intense I was having trouble sleeping and I felt nauseous. This morning I vomited and had a fever which broke late in the evening but I still have extremely painful headache -- migrane? with light sensitivity? What is it and how do I make it go away?
Avatar m tn I only got sick in the morning and then the next three days there was only naseau in the morning. Then i Got an extremely horrific headache, the pain was only on my right side and there was an extreme amount of pressure. I felt extremely naseaus also. Then my nose started to bleed and with that the pressure seemed to reduce a bit not much though. Then i started vomiting, i got sick all that night and then next day.
Avatar n tn my daughter, who is an adult was accidently pushed in a crowd and fell and banged her head at the back without anything stopping her fall, she was in a house party and had only 3 glasses of wine , it was time to go home when this happened at the end of the night , she came in off balance, vomiting , severe headache and a bit disoriented, next day , still vomiting, severe headache, and one sided neck ache with radiating shoulder pain, i don't think it was 3 glasses of wine , what do you think?
Avatar n tn But currently there isn't any headache pains, just a really sharp pain in the back of my head. I'll be fine one moment and then I'll move or do something with my head and I'll all of the sudden get this really sharp pain in the back of my head. Is this how a brain tumor starts?
1355116 tn?1283472207 sorry no never have a spinal tap.
Avatar n tn About a week ago I woke with a stiff neck on the left side. Since then the neck pain has gone away but has been replaced by pain on the left side of my skull. This is not like a headache. My skull hurts to the point that when I wake I hold my head to lift it off the pillow. After I am up for a while it goes away only to come back when I lay down. I have changed pillows thinking that could be the problem but no relief. any ideas?
Avatar f tn ) Long story short, I started to have almost non-stop headache and neck pain (starting from the neck and bottom of my skull, then to the top of my head, forehead and eyebrow area), sometimes vomiting from the pain 3 years ago, after bending my head towards the desk marking exam papers for 2 whole weeks. My headache started after getting out of bed for 2 or 3 hours almost everyday. I thought it was cervical spondylosis because the pain always starts from the neck.
Avatar n tn The headaches are not sensitive to sound or light, but can be irritated by impact motion (such as walking up the stairs or hitting a bump in the car), but the pain is not irritated by repsitioning my neck. I had a high-field brain MRI which came back negative of abnormalities.
Avatar n tn I also had a blood patch last week and am having neck pain and a headache on the back right side of my head. When I put my hand on my forehead and push with my head against my hand it's instant pain the second I back off the pressure against my hand. I also can push on the top back part of my head straight down and when I release I almost faint. Does anyone know if I need another patch? Please god I hope not.
Avatar f tn During this illness I woke up in the middle of the night shaking, which I believe was due to the fever. Then the headache came the next morning along with the stiff neck. They were worse than ever. The headache was the same one in the back of my head. The head and neck aches subsided the next afternoon but my head was not the same. On the first day, my vision felt different, slightly blurry and I was unable to focus. I felt dizzy and very irritable. Snapping at my boyfriend if he touched me.
