Vomiting and upper back pain

Common Questions and Answers about Vomiting and upper back pain

vomiting

Avatar n tn Pain from gallstones usually is in the upper right side of abdomen; and may spread to right upper back, chest, or right shoulder. You might also experience nausea; vomiting; or gas. Regardless, if you're having back, hip and thigh pain, you should see a Doctor to find out what's going on.
Avatar n tn This finally did stop the vomiting and the pain. However about an hour later the pain came back. Now I have had the symptoms constantly for a week with no relieve. I have a very sharp back pain across my back just below my shoulder blades and a sharp burning sensation across my top abdomen just under my breast once in a while I will get a sharp pain across the bottom of my abdomen, but they just come and go.
Avatar n tn I have pain in my entire back, shoulders, neck, and arms. Eventually I start vomiting, not from nausea but from pain. Once I get really emptied out, the pain is gone almost as quickly as it started. There is no pattern to these spells. It doesn't seem to matter if I've eaten at all or what I've eaten. I had a hip revision 8 weeks ago, and since the surgery, the spells have increased in frequency. Before the surgery, it had been months since I had a spell.

Avatar f tn There is also esophageal spasms that can cause the extreme epigastric pain (like labor also) and vomiting. Normally one does not have back pain but everyone is different. The important thing to do in my opinion is see you physician and discuss this with him/her. This can best be diagnosed when it occurs. Go to ER again when you first feel the pain coming on. You may have passed the stone or it may just have been missed on your last trip to ER.
Avatar f tn After having the surgery i would still get slight pain and recently i have started getting alot of pain again it sometimes moved to my back but is mainly in the front. It hurts alot and the doctors dont seem to know what it is. The only time that it definatly comes on is when i drink alcohol, but it will come when i havent consumed any in weeks. I would really apprechiate some advice.
Avatar f tn I have never had anything like this happen before. The pain also feels like it sometimes radiates to my shoulder and back. I have also had high fevers on and off since this started (104.6 being the highest.) I have had a ct scan, an ultrasound, an X-ray, a hida scan, and an endoscopy done. Everything came back normal only showing mild irritation to the stomach. Bloodwork was in the normal range for everything except when I was dehydrated.
Avatar f tn Some of my other symptoms are constant fatigue, bloating, going back and forth between constipation and loose stools,no appetite, and nausea(no vomiting).
Avatar n tn It sounds a bit like the gallbladder pain I had. I had no appetite, nausea and vomiting. I had more pain in the back than the front, and I found a little relief by leaning my back against a wall. I was doubled over in pain at times when I was having an actual gallbladder attack after eating two bites of cheesecake at a party. The attack pain lasted 30 hours, but by that time I had already had the gallstones seen on an ultrasound.
Avatar f tn under my rib cage is hurting, tender to touch, feels hard and the pain is radiating towards my back.. with sharp intermittent pains in the lower back and flank... severe nausea, but no vomiting... yet... freaking me out! help!
Avatar f tn i had a similar problem with pain after eating. mine didn't involve hiccups, but did include sharp pain and nausea after eating. I had an upper GI done, and it turned out to be ulcerations from GERD.
Avatar f tn Right after that I will start to feel nauseasc vomit and dry heave for 24 hours with the most excruciating pain in my upper abdominal area . It makes me feel weak, hard to talk or even keep my eyes open. Usually after 24 hours have gone by, I’ll feel a final urge to puke and it’ll be a projectile vomit and then all of a sudden I feel relieved after my last vomit. All my test at the er (blood, urine, ct scan, ultrasound) came back normal.
Avatar n tn I feel it in my lower back, right groin area, upper right abnomin, right flank, and in my side. I also have some aching pain in my right buttock, hip, and upper thigh area. If it where not for the abdominal pain, I would be almost certain that this was coming from my lower back. It seems to bother me more when sitting. I have to admit that I am a little scared that this might be coming from an organ. I do not have any changes in my bowels or urination.
114870 tn?1210298346 She just left the hospital 4 days ago on second day home the pain and vomiting is back, so then its not from the effusion. Saw the pulmonary doctor today for follow up and he says that the vomiting and pain is in fact NOT from the pleural effusion. So what is this, what can be causing the pain and vomit. She has no bowel obstruction, just seedings around the peritoneum...could that cause the severe pain and vomiting. We are lost here.
Avatar f tn I have had a constant dull upper and mid right quadrant pain for the last 5 months. The pain is more of an annoyance and sometimes hurts when I bend or twist my body. Sometimes, it feels like gnawing or pinching. No nausea or vomiting. No significant changes in bowel movements. I’ve had IBS for over 10 years so nothing out of the ordinary. I thought maybe it was the gallbladder or appendix at first, however, I’m not quite sure. I’ve been to my primary three times for the issue.
Avatar m tn However after the 4 and 5th time vomiting i developed a chest pain and i still have it even though its less and the back of my tongue also has some pain. I was hoping this is nothing serious?

Avatar f tn Hi, I am female and 17 years old. For the last few years I have had pain in the upper abdomen/ directly between and below my ribcage. The pain usually lasts at least a half an hour, sometimes longer, and I have problems breathing deeply. When I push between my lower ribs/ upper abdomen it is painful. It also occurs when I have been laying on my stomach for a little while, and I have to roll over because of the pain. What could cause this?

Avatar n tn I get a pain in my upper back that spreads around to my chest. Sometimes it lasts about 15 minutes, sometimes 30 minutes. It feels as if I have been stabbed in the back and it comes through my chest. It feels like it comes full circle around my upper body. I have a hard time talking, turn white, clamming and sometimes nauseous. I had every heart test about 3 years ago, but now they are becoming more frequent. What do you think is causing this pain?
