Avatar n tn In situations like this it is best to go to ER so that they can pump drugs to control acidity and vomiting through injections. Whenever you have diarrhea and vomiting, follow this: Take an OTC lactobacillus preparation (probiotics) and yogurt with your meals. The Zofran is for nausea and vomiting in cancer patients while going thru chemo. It doesn't appear to be helping him at all, I would take him off of them, and only keep him on the antibiotic.
887340 tn?1258000626 I ve tried meglizine and dramamine and they are not helping. Avatar m tn He will vomit once a day, for three or four days and then stop for a week or two and then start the cycle all over again. His vomiting can be at any time. He could be sleeping and jump up and vomit or it could be while he is playing. Sometimes the vomit is barely digested food, and sometimes it is fully digested. I have taken him to two different vets who both say that some cats basically just throw up.
Avatar n tn So about two weeks after all the symptoms go away, except for the weakness, I wake up in the middle of the night and start vomiting and having diarrhea profusely. This goes on for about 4 days so I go back to the doctor and get prescribed more antibiotics and some diarrhea medication. I have had about many of these vomiting and diarrhea episodes lasting anywhere from one night to 4 or 5 days since February.
Avatar f tn When he feels nauseous he usually feels cold and has a headache too. After vomiting he looks very pale and usually has very bad abdominal pains. Does anyone know if Lyme can cause vomiting problems like this? Anyone had anything like this? The pediatrician has said she is sure it isn't his abx BTW. Avatar f tn He is almost 17 and has had issues with morning nausea and vomiting for several years. It comes and goes and lasts 3-5 days. It will wake him up in the morning for several days and he will either vomit (most often only once) or feel nauseous for an hour or so and then is perfectly fine the rest of the day. When it ends he is fine for several weeks before it starts again. He is otherwise very healthy and active although quite thin, even on the edge of being underweight.
Avatar f tn Never has vomiting made my thoat feel so raw. It has been over 12 hours since the vomiting episodes and i still have the shakes and have only had water and half of a banana. I will mentione the things I read in this thread, and I hope they take me seriously. My regular Dr is on vacation and I get nervous with seeing someone else.
Avatar f tn Then about a month ago, I started getting heartburn, along with nausea and vomiting. Soon, I also had bitter taste in my mouth. I got prescription for prevacid again from my doc, and I also tried OTC meds(tums, etc), but none of them worked. In fact, the symptoms are getting worse. (I am being very careful with my diet currently. No fatty, spicy food.. small meals..

I have give him daily probiotics and have tried changing his formula to soy (which made his eczema worse) and then hypo-allergenic formula which made no difference. He has decreased appetite which mainly consists of BRAT diet, pedialyte, and formula. He's lost about 3 pounds.
Avatar f tn I was prescribed an antibiotic to kill off the bad bacteria and then told to take probiotics after to replenish the good bacteria. A hydrogen breath test is done to check for this.
Avatar m tn The 3rd day, more vomiting and diarrhea. The 4th, 5th, and 6th days, no vomiting but loose stools and no appetite. On the 7th day, more vomiting and diarrhea. we are on the 8th day of this round and the diarrhea continues 1-3x/day. Tonight a new symptom - his belly is really distended (his belly button that is normally a slight "innie" is now flush with his belly) and he complains of a tummy ache.
Avatar f tn Daughter is now hardly eating, has no energy at all, has stomach ache still at least once a day for a few minutes, diahorrea, nausea and vomiting. Some days is fine but other days food doesnt even have chance to reach her stomach before comes back up. Has sickle cell trait also. Paed docs have now transferred to specialist childrens hospital in view of upper and lower gastroscopy in view of IBD. No blood in poo and poo only ever black when on iron as would expect.
Avatar n tn These continued for almost 3 years, during which time he lost weight, missed work, and accrued medical bills. He had colonscopy and x rays and nothing showed up. He also had a test for parasites. Nothing showed at that time. He was told he had IBS. He does not have the dirreah bouts so frequently associated with IBS> He was given phenegram for pain. These attacks stopped two years ago as a direct answer to prayer. I believe that God intervened.
6824408 tn?1385142108 I have a 6 year old female black lab pointer mix who recently (since 11/16/13, so about a week) has been vomiting, sometimes in the even after work (about twice), but usually in the middle of the night after 12am and before 5am. It's always yellow in color and foamy, with no food in it since it usually occurs about 3-4 hours after eating. Everything else is normal, her activity level is the same, she still loves to eat, and her stool is firm.
Avatar f tn So w/ all this in mind the Vet wasn't too concerned (unlike me) and said it's probably just a mild case of bilious vomiting syndrome, so she prescribed Zantac (which had to be called into my pharmacy $33), and a probiotic that was called Proviable DC, 10 capsules that was $10. Also said to try to space out her feedings so that the last one is at bedtime. She eats 1 cup a day, divided into 3 feedings. It's Puppy Chow mixed w/ Eukanuba Puppy Growth. I know, I know...
Avatar n tn Try antacids and omeprazole (this empty stomach in morning) along with probiotics and see if it helps. If it does not then I am sorry, it could be something related to a stricture or a tumor in the upper gut (esophagus). It could just be age causing all these problems. Do discuss this with your doctor. Take care!
