Place a small amount of olive oil or butter on the capsule to make it slide more easily down your cats throat to help with administration. Probiotics and ginger capsules are widely available over the counter at health food stores and online as human products. The dose for probiotics for your cat is 1/8 of a human dose twice daily. Ginger and probiotics can be combined safely.
and then u r taking a PPI med to stop acids from being produced , the acids also help break down the foods.... Probiotics r great and will get u back into balance and yes u will get bloated and run for the first 2 weeks possibly, but once u r on track u will be happy u r taking them....I take them and they help me. Your dog could also have food hypersensitivies (food allergies), or a sensitive stomach. Food hypersensitivities can cause intermittent vomiting and soft stool and/or diarrhea alternating with constipation. Dogs can have food allergies to any ingredient in their present food. Your veterinarian can prescribe a special hypoallergenic diet for 12 weeks as a clinical trial.
I have just started taking probiotics. They have seemed to help almost instantly. i was belching, vomiting and full of gas. i still don't think my digestive system is working quite right, but it is an improvement.
10 fl oz total) of that new DanActive, and afterwards my throat and tongue were itching like crazy, and it's hard to swallow, and a little bit later I started itching generally everywhere. This was several hours ago and although the symptoms are generally mild, they're still here. I'm just wondering if it's possible to be allergic to a bacteria, or if I should look a little harder for what may have really triggered this.
A friend recently said her dog did the same thing if she missed dinnertime by as little as 30 minutes. PROBIOTICs is what helped her dog. I gave him his first pill last night and after 3 solid days of atleast one episode he is resting comfortably and has NOT vomitted. Looking for some validation on probiotics. Im praying for him to be more comfortable, cant stand the wretching. Thanks for any help or advice!

In situations like this it is best to go to ER so that they can pump drugs to control acidity and vomiting through injections. Whenever you have diarrhea and vomiting, follow this: Take an OTC lactobacillus preparation (probiotics) and yogurt with your meals. Drink plenty of fluids (clear soups, water, ORS in water, lemonade). Eat light, do not stay hungry but eat simple things like toast, porridge, cereals, crackers, banana, rice, peeled apple, etc.
I have had Crohn's disease for about 3 years and I am having problems with vomiting and I don't know what to do!! If you have any advice please help, I feel lost! I have some problems swallowing and I frequently feel like there is something in my throat ready to come up. I was vomiting almost every night for about two weeks I then felt a little better and it only occurred every couple of days. Well right now I can't hold anything down. I'm afraid to eat, but I am hungry.
This and Prilosec are both used to treat GERD (acid reflux) which he doesn't appear to have, and why he would be on both I don't know! Probiotics help with digestion, and in moving the food along the intestine and colon, which doesn't appear to be happening. The Zofran is for nausea and vomiting in cancer patients while going thru chemo. It doesn't appear to be helping him at all, I would take him off of them, and only keep him on the antibiotic.
I ve tried meglizine and dramamine and they are not helping. I am vomiting atleast once a day and am not loosing weight. I feel nausous at all times especially during the day.. As I said I am awaiting back surgery which is necessary to get me back to work. They will not do the surgery if I am not healthy and I need to go back to work. With that said I cant imagine working feeling so gross all the time.
He will vomit once a day, for three or four days and then stop for a week or two and then start the cycle all over again. His vomiting can be at any time. He could be sleeping and jump up and vomit or it could be while he is playing. Sometimes the vomit is barely digested food, and sometimes it is fully digested. I have taken him to two different vets who both say that some cats basically just throw up.
So about two weeks after all the symptoms go away, except for the weakness, I wake up in the middle of the night and start vomiting and having diarrhea profusely. This goes on for about 4 days so I go back to the doctor and get prescribed more antibiotics and some diarrhea medication. I have had about many of these vomiting and diarrhea episodes lasting anywhere from one night to 4 or 5 days since February.

Does anyone know if Lyme can cause vomiting problems like this? Anyone had anything like this? The pediatrician has said she is sure it isn't his abx BTW. Again, not hte lyme doc, but she's sure about that.
Try taking Probiotics and enzymes. IBS can cause coughing as the acid tickles the upper part of the esophagus. The coughing can become severe enough to make you vomit.
He is almost 17 and has had issues with morning nausea and vomiting for several years. It comes and goes and lasts 3-5 days. It will wake him up in the morning for several days and he will either vomit (most often only once) or feel nauseous for an hour or so and then is perfectly fine the rest of the day. When it ends he is fine for several weeks before it starts again. He is otherwise very healthy and active although quite thin, even on the edge of being underweight.
Never has vomiting made my thoat feel so raw. It has been over 12 hours since the vomiting episodes and i still have the shakes and have only had water and half of a banana. When I tried to each my stomach hurt and I was unable to eat anymore. I have a Dr's appointment tonight so I HOPE that they send me for tests. I will mentione the things I read in this thread, and I hope they take me seriously. My regular Dr is on vacation and I get nervous with seeing someone else.
Then about a month ago, I started getting heartburn, along with nausea and vomiting. Soon, I also had bitter taste in my mouth. I got prescription for prevacid again from my doc, and I also tried OTC meds(tums, etc), but none of them worked. In fact, the symptoms are getting worse. (I am being very careful with my diet currently. No fatty, spicy food.. small meals..

The 3rd day, more vomiting and diarrhea. The 4th, 5th, and 6th days, no vomiting but loose stools and no appetite. On the 7th day, more vomiting and diarrhea. we are on the 8th day of this round and the diarrhea continues 1-3x/day. These continued for almost 3 years, during which time he lost weight, missed work, and accrued medical bills. He had colonscopy and x rays and nothing showed up. He also had a test for parasites. Nothing showed at that time. He was told he had IBS. He does not have the dirreah bouts so frequently associated with IBS> He was given phenegram for pain. These attacks stopped two years ago as a direct answer to prayer. I believe that God intervened.
I have a 6 year old female black lab pointer mix who recently (since 11/16/13, so about a week) has been vomiting, sometimes in the even after work (about twice), but usually in the middle of the night after 12am and before 5am. It's always yellow in color and foamy, with no food in it since it usually occurs about 3-4 hours after eating. Everything else is normal, her activity level is the same, she still loves to eat, and her stool is firm.
Try antacids and omeprazole (this empty stomach in morning) along with probiotics and see if it helps. If it does not then I am sorry, it could be something related to a stricture or a tumor in the upper gut (esophagus). It could just be age causing all these problems. Do discuss this with your doctor. Take care!
So w/ all this in mind the Vet wasn't too concerned (unlike me) and said it's probably just a mild case of bilious vomiting syndrome, so she prescribed Zantac (which had to be called into my pharmacy $33), and a probiotic that was called Proviable DC, 10 capsules that was $10. Also said to try to space out her feedings so that the last one is at bedtime. She eats 1 cup a day, divided into 3 feedings. It's Puppy Chow mixed w/ Eukanuba Puppy Growth. I know, I know...
I got her on vsl #3 probiotics and generic monistat from dollar tree...it cleared up overnight. Though I'm worried to keep giving her the antibiotic because she has diarrhea from it and isn't taking down enough fluids...but today may be different. She has expressed more interest in eating, seems alot happier, and of course her yeast infection is gone so that helps. It sounds like she may have asthma...Cally doesn't show signs until she gets sick, then the effects last awhile.
