Avatar f tn t start till June I can go to class next quarter Yahoo. Even if USC changes my mind about who does it I can still push it off till summer. I can't stay home I just can't.
Avatar f tn I walked to the library without stopping and back (with a bathroom break and grabbed a couple of books inbetween) with the walker. I wasn't able to do it without stopping a lot 2 weeks ago. Yahoo. Oh and I started PT exercises on Thursday. It went well. I'm still working on getting off the walker.
Avatar m tn t look like anything has changed in 20 years ? I was diagnosed with NAION in m y right eye in July of 2013. About 50% field of vision loss (entire bottom half) and then the inner ring near the nose which hurts central acuity quite a bit. I'm only 36, never smoked, blood pressure is normal. The only risk factor I have is diabetes, but that is well controlled (A1C 5.8%) no one can figure out why this happened to me.
Avatar f tn Insurance weirdly denied my request for a second opinion ns at UCLA but instead approved a ns at USC. Let's just say they are rivals. When I called because I thought it was requesting nl instead of ns they told me that the reason for the USC doctor was because no UCLA doctor would come to bakersfield. Yahoo I get to see my ns where I live. I'm guessing it happened because of the hospital is in Bakersfield that the insurance covers.
Avatar f tn i will start a new cycle on feb. and i don't have insurance everything is payed out of my pocket and if you really don't need those injec. i would really appreciated if you could give them to me.
Avatar f tn After my decompression, I had to stay for awhile until my optic nerve swelling was stable. I still have double vision, but will have surgery next month. The Dr was Dr. John Park. So, they have individual computers for patients to use? When I was in ICU, there was a computer, but it was for the nurse to chart.
Avatar n tn My Mom has a macular pucker, but her main complaint is not the wavy, but double vision. She's been going to the doctors for this double vision and has since had glaucoma surgery, cataract surgery and now they are saying macular pucker surgery. She asked her doctor would this fix the double vision and he said he didn't know why she had double vision. Now she is thinking she shouldn't risk such a serious surgery if this isn't even related to the double vision.
Avatar n tn My son has a pupil that looks like a pacman. He has been to the optometrist since he was 6 months old and the "defect" doesn’t seem to affect his vision in this eye. He still wears glasses but this is to help correct his other eye which is weak. I read anther post about a coloboma pupil, but my son's pupil seems to be the opposite of this. I was wondering what his condition is called. Any help?
Avatar f tn I have been diagnosed with myopic degeneration and receive the intraocular injection which is very effective. My insurance carrier will not cover the cost of the injection (medicine and surgery). If I had a diagnosis of macular degeneration it would be fully covered. I am looking for suggestions as to how to make my case with the insurance carrier that this is not a one time event but a chronic condition that if not treated would result in a loss of vision.
Avatar n tn My husband (40 y/o,healthy)and I (40 y/o, healthy) are looking to get our health insurance coverage from next present. Right now we are on cobra GHI( extension from my previous work place) but they are asking me to change to EMPIRE PPO or EPO since they will not have GHI. I did not have dental and vision coverage previously but even if I want it they are saying they cannot add it. They are also asking for a one year committment.
Avatar n tn In December of 2008 I had an increase in floaters, started seeing flashes in my vision and seeing afterimages. I had 2 dilated eye exams with an ophthalmologist, both coming back normal. I was told by the ophthalmologist that there was no explanation as to why I was seeing these things and they eventually might go away. The flashes went away after a few months, but I still see the afterimages, at least I think I do.
Avatar n tn Since the Cobra does not expire until August, I may be eligible to enroll in the federal government high-risk plan, which is supposed to be cheaper than any state (Texas) high-risk insurance. I read an article on Yahoo this morning that stated that if you enrolled in a state plan, you could only get into the federal program after a 6-month off-period. The federal program is supposed to start in July, so I believe that is my best option. Thank you.
Avatar f tn I need info. Had endoscopy (esophageal stricture) 2/05, GB removed 9/07 and still have the same pain as before either. Does not seem to be affected by food. Never have naseau, vomiting, or diarrhea. The pain starts urq abdomen and center and goes up into my jaw on right side (feels like teeth are hurting). Have this pain an average of 5 times per month. On scale of 1 to 10 its a 12! Lasts for several hours. I have to keep walking when its hurting. Take Levbid, Prilosec.
Avatar f tn Also, see if there is a birth center near you. I know our local BC has options for families with no insurance. The total out of pocket to deliver there and be seen throughout the pregnancy is about $4500 compared to 3x that amount about the hospital.
Avatar f tn I'm waiting for my neuro to send the authorization form so my insurance will approve my Copaxone. It has been 1 week and I still haven't heard anything. I tried to call my neuro's office to inquire about the status, but they never called me back. How long does this process typically take? I'm anxious to get started. Katie p.s. Anyone else from VA have problems with MCV? They have been terrible to deal with.

1282384 tn?1271431332 Now my left eye is acting up and I do not have any insurance since I got laid off over a year ago and have not been able to find work. I'm concerned about driving since my vision is so distorted in sunlight. I'm wondering how bad will my vision get and are there any options for me to get the surgery done without insurance...like payment plans or something?
Avatar f tn Hello! So I got a new job and didn't sign up for the vision plan because I have plenty of contacts, so decided to sign up during enrollment in January, but I did sign up for Medica health insurance. Now I have a growth in the corner of my eye. Not on the eyeball but in the way corner next to the nose. It is red, doesn't hurt or itch, is just super annoying because it touches by eye sometimes and feels like some eye boogers and I constantly want to rub it away.
Avatar m tn My son is a type 1 diabetic and we switched from Medtronic to the Omni Pod because of the tubes getting caught on things at work; the issue we are having now is the insurance company messed us up about a year ago and now we owe over $3000.00; we just received a letter that they have blocked anymore shipments until we can get the bill under $2000.00. Does anyone know where we can get help with pods or where we can get help with that bill?
