Tooth extraction vomiting

Common Questions and Answers about Tooth extraction vomiting

teeth

It is only on the lower left tooth. It isn't directly where the tooth was removed, it is on the side of it. I don't know if that is normal or not.
The pain from the extraction almost sent me through the roof. Has anyone ever experienced this even years after a tooth extraction? I do plan on seeing a dr for possible antibiotics but was just curious as to what this may be so I posted here for some answers and insight. Thank you. PS, I am on my phone and its easy to make spelling errors so forgive ne if there's any.

I had tooth number 14 (upper molar) extracted by an oral surgeon 6 days ago. Roots were very deep, the tooth had broken and was not savable because of the extent of decay that had grown under the old filling. One of the roots had grown up into the sinus, and the oral surgeon told me there was a tiny pinhole into the sinus. He gave me very specific instructions on post care for such a scenario, but he said he did not anticipate any complications if I followed all instructions.
He said he really doesn't think I need one. Just curious if you have had any dizziness with tooth extraction. Still scared, but trying to calm down.
Hi there, after a tooth extraction infection is the common complication. The extraction of a tooth in upper jaw may damage the sinus cavities above it, by creating a hole that might become a source of sinus infections. A dry socket occurs when a blood clot is not formed normally or is washed out or dissolved prematurely. In this condition the underlying bone and nerves are exposed to air and food which may cause intense pain, bad odor or taste.
I have a dry socket following lower mouth tooth extraction. have to go back to dentist for dressing each day. am on antibiotics and painkillers but have been vomiting all night and have foul taste which makes me gag. have stopped taking all pills as cant keep them down. is this the condition or a reaction to the antibiotics?
Good morning or evening or day or night or afternoon ladies and gentlemen and hello. I have been involved in a medical emergency. I have also been involved in Wisdom Tooth extraction surgery 8 hourd ago. I was placed under local anaethesia through a needle and thus I had no idea what was going on, what anyone was doing, I odn't remember a thing but I was stll awake. Here's ym concern: I have vomited twice tonight. The first time I thought was normal.
I am not a smoker and did just what my surgery papers told me to. Unfortunately the pain pills made me sick and i ended up vomiting later that day of the surgery. So, needless to say I have two dry sockets. I've never had this b4 and anyone who has knows it hurts to the extreme! Can someone please tell me how long I'm looking at before the pain eases up??
Since then Ive been diagnosed with a variety of illnesses, no treatments worked but I ended up having a tooth pulled early jan as they were concerned the tooth was infected and spreading. Since having the tooth pulled I've had an anticepic wad made of fibre placed in the open hole. However I am certain not all of the fibres fell out and the hole has now healed over. About 2 weeks ago I brushed my teeth and some fibres and a lot of.blood came out which caused pins and needles in my face.
The only exception was that the first med I was put on after having a wisdom tooth extraction was Percocet which didn't make me sick to my stomach at all and really killed the pain but my gums hadn't healed all the way before the 3 day supply they gave me ran out and they wouldn't give me more percocet but instead switched me to vicodin.
I've been prescribed Tylenol 3 following my wisdom tooth extraction. I have never had codeine before. I am not taking the medicine on a schedule, instead I'm waiting as long as I can between doses to minimize LO's exposure. I'm currently 39+1. I see that some possible side effects are constipation, vomiting, etc. basically general digestive problems. I've been having some really hard cramps today and the T3 has thus far worked very well for my pain.
5/500 hydrocodone for about a month now. It started with having a severely abcessed tooth...I took those til I had the tooth pulled a week later (was given 30 pills and in a week I took 25). after it was pulled I was given antibiotics & more pain killers. I have abnormally large roots so it left a hole twice the size of a normal molar...so he said it would take twice as long to heal...which it has. That time I was given 20 pills....
the dentist never heard of it. I had ONE wisdom tooth pulled years ago and was very sick after the extraction (fever of 103, vomiting....just very, very sick) and in extreme pain. I have two teeth that are literally throbbing. The pain is so bad. I went to a new doctor and he said "the suboxone should help with the pain." Well, it doesn't.
color, frequency (i usually have 1-2 well formed a day, now it's a little more unpredicable no incontenence though) I've had no symptons of nausea, vomiting, back pain, skin color change, significant weight loss, fever, etc. I have been drinking alot of water and my urine does not show any sign of irregularity, no dark colors etc. My diet is anything but "junk food" and i eat rather healthy and have not made any "changes" before any of this started happening.
A failed root canal left infected root in the tooth, which caused a major infection, an abscess, a need for another root canal on a nearby tooth, and eventually the extraction of both teeth. I have had a fever for 6 months, since the onset of this infection. I have no other underlying illnesses, no health problems, no inflammatory illness. Prior to this I was healthy. I don't drink or smoke. The only other thing that's popped up during all this is I have a small cyst on each side of my thyroid.
At the very beginning of the year I was put on antibiotics for an impacted wisdom tooth which I had removed a few days after I was off of the antibiotics. This was Jan 9th 2013. I recovered from the extraction relatively quickly as I went snowboarding that following weekend. 2 days being back from snowboarding I felt very drained like I was getting sick. The next day I had full on flu-like symptoms. Fatigue, fever, headache, cough, congestion, etc. That lasted through the week.
Scared EVERYONE, but by the time the ER docs got a hold of me I was A-OK. after that I passed out due to a wisdom tooth extraction and again two days later. These are traumas that can cause anyone to faint. But then I started fainting when I'd have blood drawn for tests. I had been getting upwards of two shots per week since I was three for allergies. Trust me, needles do not scare me in the slightest. But, the doctors said that it was anxiety based. Until one day I was in the Dr.
hello doctor, (apologies in advance for the long question but i wanted to be precise) my high risk exposure was in MID AUGUST (17th?). a combination of unprotected/protected sex 3-4xs with male of unknown status (a few minutes of mild penetration then a condom for the finish...no ejaculation inside) but i'm not sure if i am experiencing symptoms of ARS or the HIV virus.
My guess is this could have been caused by dental procedures that I had shortly before all of this began back in 08'. I had a wisdom tooth pulled in a particularly violent extraction (particles of bone were coming out of the site for weeks afterwards, it took forever to heal). I know this is rare, and when I mentioned it to my dentist he was fairly smug about it and "had only seen a few cases of this happening in all his 40 years of dentistry".
I still have a small ulcer/hard bump on my lower right gum below the tooth extraction site and a small ulcer/bump on the oral mucosa behind the skin lesion below the left side of my lower lip. Along with all of the above, additional history and physical information is below: 1. I have been hypothyroid for 20 years. My recent (1 week ago) thyroid testing came back abnormal. My TSH, T4 and T3 were all off the scale of below normal.
my ear, jaw, temple but only of my right side. well i got the tooth pulled, my tooth dont hurt anymore, but now my teple my head jaw all the same things still hurt, and now i have this disterbing nasty taste in my mouth like in the back of my throut, and my snot smells the same, but my snot doesnt really have much of a mucus look to it, its pretty clear and white , normal. im scared to swollow cause i think that it could possibly go in my blood stream and into my heart.
I'm on day 4 and suffered thru the gross sweats, chills, vomiting, dry heaves once I've thrown up anything I've got in my gut, sneezes, mucus in the throat, shakes. You name it, I'd say to anyone to stay away from this crap. I've been going thru the depressed state and just leaning on my family right now and hoping to get back to some sense of normalicy that I was escaping with the wonderful euphoric state of those little white pills.
I never had panic attacks or any kind of anxiety issues before but recently things hit me pretty hard ( I had wisdom tooth surgery on Oct 26th and the extraction damaged a nerve causing my lip and chin to be numb - I couldnt take it and fell into a depression, then had what I now know as panic attacks) - Althought I resisted because I dont take any drugs & cant even tolorate alchol, my family doctor told me to take .
Ok, so I was Dx with Hashimoto's about two months ago and put on Levothyroxine. I have an appointment with a new doc on April 1st (long story, but been having problems with finding a doctor who can/will treat me). Well, I am on 100mcg of Levothyroxine, and don't feel all that much better. I have slightly more energy, but I am still having random symptoms. Here is kind of a timeline of my symptoms. I am so frustrated, as this has been going on for about two years.
A cone beam ct scan revealed an inflammatory process in the sinus above the implant and apical periodontal inflammation on the tooth behind the implant which was also giving me night fevers. I have since had the root canal retreated on the tooth that was being blamed for my mouth discomfort.
I've had orange tongue for about 4 months since I had an operation to have my wisdom tooth pulled. I was anesthetized and given a 5-day course of erythromycin subsequently. I'm fairly positive it has something to do with the antibiotics I was administered. I brush off just about all of the orange on my tongue each night, and it's fine the morning after. But by the end of the day, it's completely orange again.
I noticed greenish/brown mucus and tooth pain and went to doctor for an anti-biotic (I think Bactrim). I took the antibiotic which seemed to clear up what I thought was a sinus infection but I still wasn't feeling better and my glands were very swollen (they still are too a degree). The doctor prescribed Augmentin due to the remaining swollen glands and remaining flu like symptoms. On April 16th, I had tingling in my hands and feelings of pure exhaustion.
One of the causes of maxillary sinusitis is a tooth abscess that has leaked the infection into the maxillary sinus. The teeth may be X-rayed to find this. • Ethmoid sinuses. If infection occurs, you may get puffy eyes and pain between them. The sides of your nose may get tender to the touch, your nose may get stuffy, and you won’t be able to smell so well. You may also get a splitting headache, felt most intensely in the forehead. • Sphenoid sinuses.
