My 16 month old is teething and I have noticed several white bumps on his tongue. He has been really fussy, will not eat much, and isn't sleeping well. Could you help me with what to do for the bumps... Thanks!
This is so overwhemingly common - yet no doctor will put this puzzle together - at least in my luck. After digging for 5 years - I strongly believe this is a side effect of thyroid medications. I lean towards this bieng an imbalance on PH levels within the body with some individuals. HAve you had any discomfort within the tongue itself? Burning - swolleness of anything you can describe? Do you notice dry throat and thirst? Did you undergo RAI treatment after the TT?
Morning, This is going to be a hard one for me to tell you, but I am only reflecting on my situation and everyone is different. I started with the "white tongue" no pain- but my tongue looked weird. I commented to my family all the time. Then the bumps started- then acid then the "burning" I hate to say, but I dealt with that for 2 years with our medical help. No one could help me. Then that is when I started checking on how I could get rid of it.
Two nights ago at bedtime my 2 yr old grandbaby had a 102 temp followed by a 103 temp the next morning. I also noticed that he had 4 white bumps ,one being red around the white bump, on his tongue in front close to the tip. I took him to the dr and she said sometimes the virus settles in their mouths. He's never had that on his tongue before. I would like a more in depth opinion please.
There are little white painfull bumps that i sometimes get on my tongue. they feel like being stung by a beer. They never bleed. They come and go. I seem to get them a lot when i eat acid foods, or when i'm really stressed out.Every time i'm about to go to the doctors for it they go away, so the doctor cant really do anything about it. But i have no clue what these little bumps could be.

I have had white blotchy spots and bumps on my tongue for probably over a month now. They are starting to get painful and I can't afford to go to a doctor. They're all over my tongue and mouth. At first I thought it might be thrush so I have been drinking cranberry juice and eating yogurt. It seems to go away but as soon as i stop doing anything it comes right back.
I have these white bumps on my tongue. They reoccur every once in a while. They are normally on the sides of my tongues or at the tip. They really hurt and its really bothering me. I'm just wondering what the cause of this is, what it is called and have to prevent it / cure it.

Three days ago, I noticed two large white bumps on the very back of my tongue. They hurt like heck, making it hard to swallow or talk. the only thing that releives it is ibuprophen. Could this be some forn of herpes? I have never suffered from cold sores or any other types of lesions on the front part of my mouth.

This morning I woke up with several painful white bumps on my tongue. When I look at them in the mirror they look like an infected taste bud or something like that. Well, they have been giving me some really bad pain so i keep biting my tongue where they are just to try and get the pain to go away (obviously not smart). Later that day I come to find out that I have two more of these bumps on my tongue that hurt just as bad.
and they can give you an antibiotic, i had it last week. White coated tongue and bumps in the back, it will only get worse if you do not get an antiboitic for it.
I have 4 small white raised bumps on the back of my tongue, and very small reddish ones towards tha back and middle. They dont irritate me or hurt, but they are kinda hard. I have rinsed w/ warm salt and water and have also used mouth wash. I noticed this about 2 days ago after burning my tongue with hot food. Ive done that before and I have never noticed anything like this. I am pregnant and I'm kinda scared. Do you know what this maybe?
For the last couple days I've been getting little white bumps on my tongue. My mom diagnosed them as canker sores. I've gotten them in the past, but usually only one and they last 2 -4 days max. At the beginning of the week I got one. I figured it would go away soon, so I ignored the pain and tried not to bite at it. Well, by the next morning there was another one and today there is another one. The first one started to go away a bit, but I'm worried I'm only going to get more.
I have been getting white bumps on the bottom of my tongue and they sometimes wake me up at night and the pain only lasts for a few minutes and the bump on stays there about a day. Do you think this is an STD or something else?
Last time I took treatment about half way through my tongue got these little bumps on it an it wasn't pleasant Now after just a week and a half the same bumps are on my tongue, hurts, Burns so bad when I eat. I remember this from last time because I thought to myself people don't even realize what they have until they don't have it. I know sounds weird. Does anyone else have this problem? If so what r u doing for it?
Can you think of anything else that may cause this, I also have developed a white tongue and have a cancor sore under my tongue. I don't know if I should have posted this in the STD forum but that was full. Would it at all be possible for me to get herpes from work, I am a waitress, I touch peoples dirty silverware and glasses, but I wash my hands all the time. Help, I really don't feel like this is an std.
Also, I looked inside of my mouth because I had been feeling bumpy things but I just thought it was from my braces. There are these little white bumps in the inside of my bottom lip. Also, at the top of my top lip there is something that looks like skin is coming off of the inside of my lip. It's completely white and when I went to pull on my lip, it came off. My top and bottom left side of my lips are also very puffy. Usually, if it was from braces it'd be gone by now.
I noticed this pain about two days later and it has persisted for the last 5 days. It isnt so much in my throat but more my tongue. I noticed that my tongue appears to be white a lot of the time unless i drink some kind of fluid and i have also noticed small white bumps on the outside areas and bottom parts of my tongue. I didn't perform oral sex on her but i did kiss her for a while as well as suck on her nipples.
The problem here is that those white bumps and or white coating in the back of your tongue is a collection of sulfer compounds which is typically a direct result from a dry mouth and or a low saliva secretion rate which allows the bacteria that makes those smelly fumes to develop at a rapid pace. Remember that saliva has oxygen and it's this oxygen that destroys the bacteria.
My 7 yr. old son has tiny white dot like bumps on his tongue, and on the very tip of the tongue the dots seem to have grown into one large white spot. They are not outlined in red, just white. He cries alot over them & wakes at night screaming in pain. We try baby orajel swabs and a benadryl/mylanta mix on the surface of tongue, but it doesn't help alot. This was at the suggestion of his pediatrician, but I'm praying there is something else we can do as this doesn't seem to help.
