I would see your doctor and ask for a different type of treatment for it. The Lamisil usually works. As for the Staph it depends on what kind of staph whether it is important or not. So you need to find out which kind. Is it Staph epidermidis or Staph aureus. Ask them about that too. If staph epi then it is just normal bacteria and doesn't need treatment if Staph aureus it depends on how much you have of it.

I tried some Neosporin but that just seemed to make the skin burn more. Its been over a week. I stopped taking the antibiotics on Tuesday and the area has started to dry up. When it was constantly oozing with that snot like film over the area I would use a white sloth to dry it and the stuff that came off would be yellow and sometime even have a green tint to it. The outer edge of this area is starting to dry up and it is leaving a yellow/green crust.......

) What happens is, in sensitive people, when they get a (usually) cold virus, it inflames the nerve temporarily (meaning anywhere from a day to 3 weeks) and causes the dizziness. Treatment is aimed at symptoms, usually w/ meclizine, which can be purchased over the counter or by prescription. Also, I've had 2 brain scans (MRI's w/ contrast) and they've both been negative. Think you have to get the scans WHILE the dizziness is going on, if ya wait to long the inflammation goes down.
They work by stopping the spread of the virus and if you take the antiviral too late, it's too late to stop the spread, it's already happened. Here are some guidelines on helping differentiate between run of the mill colds and more serious bacterial infections: When do I need antibiotics for a cold, as an adult? Never. Are you sick with a runny nose, sore throat, cough, possibly even goey green and brown stuff coming out?
I have pernicious anemia. The itching would almost drive me crazy. PN is dangerous if left undiagnosed. You need a more intensive blood test than just the usual cbc. I have extremely itchy bubble-like blisters predominantly on one index finger, but it does appear on other finger & both palms. I also have what appears to be a different type of splotchy rash on my abdomen, forehead, chest, on the side of my left eye & on both ears. At one time I had a rash on my eyelids but this has cleared up. This has been going on for weeks, with varying levels of severity and it seems one area will heal & something new will pop up.

If they are large enough they do leave scars. I have been the doc many times - it is a staph infection, not strep. I have used mupirocin once, but cannot afford the cost. Neosporin seems to work sometimes, so I try to use it daily, but i really need a new cheap alternative. Any idea on over-the-counter medications I could use to effectively treat this? Or any homeopathic or home-remedies I could try? The infections are getting worse as I get older and I need a solution.
