Ive always had a tender scalp on and off but about 2 years ago I started noticing my hair was thinning where my scalp was sore primarily. Its been thinning at the top and around the temples. The thinning progressed rather quickly ive had to xut my hair shorter to make it blend. Prior to the thinning my hair would shed these grey flakes like dandruff especially if I was sweating or just finished playing sports.
My hair is thinning drastically on top of my head. When I shampoo, no matter the shampoo I use, small bright red spots appear and stay for an hour or so,then go away. I do not have scalp problems as far as dry flaky skin, these spots are not sore. I am a senior lady who has had this problem for several years now. I have changed shampoos many times and the red spots always appear. Does this have anything to do with my thinning hair?

All my life I've been told that I have thick hair. I'm 21, Asian, male; for the past few years I've been noticing that I have thinner hair on the right side of my scalp. When I run my hand gently through my hair I notice that hair falls out WAY easier than the left side of my head. I'm not shedding clumps of hair, it's just my right side of the scalp sheds more in comparison to the left. Is this something normal?

After around 6 months i could see my scalp.Taking a closer look it appeared red and the hair was thinning especially in the mid scalp region.I could also scratch some white crust with my nail.I had moderate itching.After some months i had extreme itching and a burning sensation like ants crawling and i could sense warmth.The scalp was really red so i went to dermatologist.I think he said i had pytiriasis.I was given ketekonazole and nizoral and after 1 month of treatment the symptoms were gone.
I have very itchy scalp...it's very sore when I touch it and when I scratch it....it itches so bad that I can't help but to scratch My head. I try to scratch as soft as I can but it very tender. The itching and soreness is only in the middle of my head . The crown area..my hair is thinning a little in that area and it kind of feel a little scaby; but I can't really tell.

i am having thinning over my scalp especially crown and its progressing.i am having this problem from past 10 months before that my hair were healthy and thiker but now they are very thin and my scalp is noticeablee on top.
i tthinking of rogaine ,,currently using nizoral
hvent seen dermatologist yet.
i donot have any family history of baldness.
any suggestions??
When I apply Toppik fibers on my scalp, it usually just conceals the thinning areas with a light layer. However, near my part at the front of my head, the Toppik always clumps up directly on the scalp. At first it didn't bother me because it covers up the thinning area, but now I'm worried that hair can't grow through the fibers.
I have been experiencing rapid hair thinning and do not have a history of Male Pattern Baldness. I am 28, FYI and up until this last year or so always had fairly thick hair (very straight, but pretty thick). I thought it may be a thyroid issue, but my lab results weren't too telling. I had grown my hair fairly long last year and was using a lot of products to slick it back. It's not as long now, due to the thinning, and I still use the products.
Then my eyebrows started thinning the same way my hair did. Now i can visibly see hair falling out all over my scalp but the thing that worries me the most is the hair falling from my eyebrows. my question is for the last year i have been lossing my hair very fast in the front of my scalp thinning.
I have been experiencing tender spot on top right size of my head for the last 3 or 4 years. The tender spot felt pain to touch and I also noticed thinning hair on this sore spot. Initially I just ignored it and also found that massaging the spot would reduce the pain. I am 48 years old female, health wise I am good, no medical problem, except for I experience anxiety on an off for which I have to take anxiety medication regularly.
Some people experience thinning of their hair during treatment but it doesn't usually fall out in the same way a cancer patients hair does (ie alopecia).
You may find with a little extra care and attention, and not too many chemical processes the thinning may not be noticeable to anyone except yourself.
I would be more inclined to wait and see what happened before buying a wig - you can wear scarves and hats to tide you over if it becomes necessary.

Hair thinning and loss could be due to increased rate of shedding compared to the rate of regrowth. I'm currently 18 years old and my hair used to be really thick, especially when I was 14 and 15 years old. When I was 16 my hair started thinning a bit and then a year later (when I was 17) my hair started thinning a lot more on the top of my head, to the point where you could easily see through my scalp. I have had scalp problems for a couple of years now which in my opinion caused hair loss. I have acne & bumps all over my scalp with different sizes, they dissappear and appear again. My family members tells me that my scalp somehow looks red. I have difficulties to exercise because when I sweat my head itches a lot. I have been to several dermatologists who prescribed roacutane of 10mg which I took for one year, but didn't really help instead I got some liver problems.

All my life I've been able to run my hands through it! About two months ago, the texture of my hair has changed and is more coarse like and is falling out.
