From the sounds of it, I will be getting something I mix in his food, to help with absorption, and something to help with his vomiting, which doesn't happen all the time, but when it does, I can't help but be concerned, if he is not getting enough nutrients to begin with, he surely is not getting any if he throws up!
My stomach cramping becomes pronounced when I eat. I take small issue with this doctors diagnosis based on what I have read. 1) both amoebic and bacterial dysentery are microscopic, it would be impossible for her to make a conclusive diagnosis especially for the amoebic dysentery. 2) the rate of infection for amoebic which its infection rate is much less frequent than bacterial dysentery. 3) the period of latency for amoebic dysentery is at least a few days.

I hope you are soon feeling much better.

I feel like these treatments aren't working. How long do I have to wait for the treatments to work. Am I just expecting it to cure the yeast infection too soon? Is this something that takes time to heal? It's just really irritating. It's been almost 2 months and I would like it to go away.

So I went to a Gastroenterologist who told me the lab test was very thorough but he still thought I should take another round of antibiotic for C. Diff., Metronidazole (Flagyl), 2 times a day for 7 days. I also took a blood test which ruled out Celiac, liver problems, etc. The Flagyl worked and I was feeling better while on it, aside from one relapse of diarrhea half way through my prescription.

It never occurred to me that it was a Crohn's flare, but it should have - slapped wrists Liz! On the 3rd day my hostess insisted I take 3 x 350 mg aspirin tablets. Within about 6 hrs I started bleeding profusely from the rectum...went back to bed as I didn't want to make a fuss, woke up 2 hrs later and filled the lavatory pan again with blood. She took me to the nearest ER and I had to sit in their lavatory as the blood was pouring out and I was losing consciousness.

Did your vet do a float with stool that you should have taken in with you? I have always boiled ground meat (drained the grease) and cooked rice & fed for about 4 days. that has always helped mine, It almost sounds like a pancreatic flare up which happens when they are not used to the fat in their diet. metronidazole / flagyl SHOULD be short term and it shouldn't hurt.
I am sorry to hear you have ESLD. The only doctor that can help you at this time with issues having to do with your liver is a hepatologist (a liver specialist) at a liver transplant center. Pain is common in person with ESLD and can only be managed by a doctor that understands the exact nature and extent of your liver disease. Since you have stopped drinking you may be eligible for a life-saving transplant at a liver transplant center.
I was diagnosed with C. diff. After my second hospital stay, I was sent home with Metronidazole 500MG tablets to take with food 3X a day. I am on my 8th day of taking this, and still have diarrhea with a loss of appetite. When will the diarrhea clear up? After the Flagyl treatment is completed? Should I be taking a probiotic supplement along with the Flagyl? I have no other symptoms other than the diarrhea/bloating.

Dear Doctor I live in Romania. I had unprotected oral sex (never have anal) with a man around 10 or 12 days ago; i received the oral sex. Around 4 days later i started feeling discomfort in my penis (gradually felt like a mild piercing pain) and there was an unpleasant smell. Anyway, i went to the doctor today and he gave me the following treatment: doxiciclina, flagyl (metronidazolum) and eficef (cefixima) as as well as Arcoxia and some vitamin supplements.
Or should I request of the STD clinic to take (doxycycline) plus metronidazole? Now that I have started metronidazole should I just stop on the 4th day, and wait for the new doxycycline plus metronidazole regime? That is, will taking another 3 days of it without the doxycycline make me build up a resistance to it or should I stay the course and see if another 3 days helps.
