seroquel equivalent

Is Seroquel XR 50mg 2tabs 2x a day the equivalent of Seroquel 100mg 2x a day?

I add 1 risperidone. Actually they are equivalent; for each 1mg of the latter is equivalent to 100mg of the former. My problem is that I wish to reduce my seroquel a bit but each time I do this I have mixed states. Now I diagnose myself according to the wave theory that my energy is high and my mood is low. Apart from the AC e.g. depakote, lamictal and all the sort of drugs which I hate to even hear their names, does it exist a way to overcome this situation.

ve been buying Valium illegally (taking up to 20 MG per day, in addition to my Klonopin), buying Seroquel illegally (for sleep, even though my doctor has prescribed 3 MGs of Lunesta nightly for sleep; right now I'm taking 100 MGs of Seroquel and 3 MGs of Lunesta every night), drinking more (God knows how much), smoking more (I've been blowing through about a quarter of Marijuana per week)... I don't know what to do... I didn't know getting off of Klonopin would be this hard...

with low dose you sleep well. less than 50. as you up the dose until 100 it works as an MS . as to increasing energy i don't believe it because it lessens the dopamine as an antimanic. but because you don't have psychosis any more you are not tired from that so you feel better and also a good sleep makes you more energetic as thesea said. seroquel works on the 5-htp and is good for depression it's the only AP prescribed for depression by the FDA.

Right now I take the 30 Morphine in the morning, then around 1 PM my pain goes way up, until I take my next Morphine at 8 PM. I am taking Seroquel to sleep through the night and not wake up from pain. This is giving to me from my psychiatrist. Thanks for taking the time to answer me.

Hi fahadali2008, hope you are feeling better and able to have some sleep? Since when were you taking Lexotinal for sleeplessness and how much useful was it? Had it been prescribed by a doctor? Can you say the reason for stopping the use of this drug completely? Did you have any serious side effects of the drug? It is better you consult your attending physician or consult a sleep specialist before abruptly stopping the drug to be advised on the alternate medications.

Seroquel has now worked for 3 nights of sleep. I take clonazapam and lamtrogine. What could I add as decrease 1 of these? Is tegretol a good choice? Long ago I took lithium, but ballooned up in weight. Suggestions to discuss w/my doctor?

Does it really work? Because I have been given 10mg Diazepam and it hasn't helped that much with W/D's or stop the attacks. I have posted about this before and someone suggested that if I can't get Clonidine I should try to get Seroquel. I can't get into much detail on here, but I really need anyone who has taken Seroquel to PLEASE, post about how it made them feel, if it helped with W/D's? Did it let you fall asleep?

I take 200 mg of seroquel to help me sleep if i cut it in half will it still help me fall asleep!! I only have 12 days left of seroquel and i can't see the doctor until the 8th of next month so i'm freaking out about not being able to sleep!! Please help!!

I ran across something on the net about Seroquel. It was another forum that I got the info about Seroquel. On this forum someone was talking about there being a tort action lawsuit against the makers of Seroquel. That it is causing excessive weight gain, diabetes, very high blood pressure in people taking this antipsychotic. I am wanting to know further about these complications caused by Seroquel. My 28 year old son has been on this med for approximately 4 years now.

I just started Seroquel. The first tab last night. I felt so trippy. It scared me and I made myself go to sleep just to avoid the experience I was having. I also heard it causes crazy weight gain. Is that true? Right now I feel nausea.

Hi my name is Mike and my wife is now currently in the hospital from overdose of seroquel and maybe other medications that she might have.

My sub doc gave me Seroquel. He said it was for bi-polar, but he gave it to me at 50mgs. for sleep and it really helped me sleep, just a bite out of one at night. He also said that it would linger or last through the day to help with the anxiety/depression. I don't think that has worked as I'm still a basket case. jk...

If Seroquel is being prescribed as a sleep aid yes, within a psychiatrist's discretion. If its being used as a mood stabilizer then it would have to be taken every day though the timing could vary. If someone can't tolerate it at all as regards any sedation then other available options could be discussed with a psychiatrist.

My doctor has recommended Seroquel for my insomnia. Since i am a parkinsons patient, I was wondering if this ,might make my parkinsons worse?

the doctor put my husband on seroquel for anxiety. i was on them last year from my psychiatrist for sleep. of course i can't gauge how they worked because i was just adding them to the stew as it were. his are extended release. mine were not. the doctor gave him samples to last 1 month. he seems to be doing well on them, but i know my husband. these are going to be expensive even with insurance.

hi everyone, was just wondering if you guys have had any trouble with Seroquel? I am being put on it for sleep, and I have read up on it, and the side effects are kinda scarey. Does anyone have any input? My Dr. is putting me on a very tiny dose to start, as I reacted to Nortriptyline and have been on nothing for sleep for 3 days now. Can anyone give me some help please??

Iam on seroquel and Iam coming off of it and iam on 400mg and once i take it iam out like a light and i canlt hear anything for the night and iam having a trouble waking up in the morning and iam feeling not to good my doctor is lowering them doese by doese but there has been times i havent been taking them at all and then i take them and when i do i feel really bad after that and i need get off of them because they have made me gain wieght and iam getting more sleep then i should be have been o

i have recently got off seroquel for anxiety and i have been off of it for 4 days now and i am itchy, i am having depressed phases, i am very nauseous when does this go away before the 50mgxr i was on 100mg that was 2 weeks ago should i take another pill or just stop like i have been doing?

I believe all atypical antipsychotics are FDA approved as mood stabilizers. However, Seroquel I believe is more effective than some others but only a psychiatrist could explain for sure. The three newest antipsychotics, Abilify, Fanapt and Saphris are the least likely to cause weight gain and sedation though they can be activating. Seroquel can cause tachycardia which is a speeded up heart beat. I had that from it. That's generally not of concern.

I would want to know from the members of this forum about how many people are using Seroquel only as a sleeping aid in doses of 25 mg and 50 mg.All suggestions and answers are welcome.
