Seroquel and trazodone

Common Questions and Answers about Seroquel and trazodone

seroquel

Avatar f tn I personally take Lamicatl Welbutrin Trazodone Seroquel These are my bipolar meds all though I do have physical health problems that I also take meds for. Do you have an anxiety disorder as well? I take the seroquel and trazodone for sleep and it works well. I hope this helps.
Avatar f tn I have been off Seroquel for 4 nights now. I was on Seroquel for about a year and a half and I have to say all that it ever did for me was help me sleep but I was only on 100mg-150mg at bedtime + trazodone 200mg., I have depression also but I think that the dose for depression is higher than 150mg. Maybe that is why it never helped with my depression? The best med that I have ever taken for sleep is triazolam (Halcion) .25mg @ bedtime.
Avatar n tn Just wondering.....when my husband was heavily addicted to percocets, oxys and valium, he had little or no sex drive....but it took about 2 years to get to that point. ( 60 percocets, 300mg oxy, 200mg valium daily...approx ) When he got onto the suboxone about 5 weeks ago, his libido came back with a vengeance. Now he's on 12 mg of sub, about 20 mg of klonopin, and 75 mg of seroquel. Can someone please tell me what this combination of drugs does to a person's sex drive?
5764859 tn?1400881756 Low dose trazodone is popular, as is low dose seroquel (<100 mg). Trazodone at higher doses is an older antidepressant, and seroquel at higher doses is an atypical antipsychotic, but they are both just sedating at low doses and not addicting.
Avatar m tn I can go days straight without an ounce of sleep. I take trazodone 150 mg for sleep, along with seroquel. Normally I don't take the seroquel unless I absolutely need it, bc it makes me feel so hungover the next morning. Trazodone has been a lifesavor for me. It took the dr a few days to find the right dose. But it works for me. There's a few side effects I personally get from it.
Avatar f tn So I suffer from bad insomnia. I take seroquel 75 mg and trazodone 150 at night for sleep. Now I'm going to be honest here and admit that for the past 4 nights I haven't slept well due to methamphetamine use. No I'm not addicted, it was my first time trying it, and no I definitely don't plan on using it again. Today I went to the dr because I have a UTI. She prescribed me cipro for 10 days. Unfortunately come to find out, it interacts with both of my sleeping meds.
Avatar f tn My doc gave me Seroquel and it works great, have been on it for about 7-8 years. I do not take it every night because of the weight gain. I also take over the counter stuff when I dont take my seroquel. I was diagnosed with Arnold Chiari malformation about 3 years and had surgery to help treat it. I get really bad migraines from my chiari, especially if i cant get enough of sleep. It is a struggle. Are there any other meds that any of you take that have helped you in the long term??
Avatar n tn It put me into a 1 1/2 year manic episode and I started an affair, abused drugs and then the affair ended and I ended up with a restraining order on me and then arrested (really long story) - After the affair ended, I put myself in a psych ward on a 5150. They then diagnosed me as being bipolar and put me on Seroquel. Seroquel made me feel better but I put on a lot of weight. So I went off of the seroquel and am now on NOTHING.
Avatar f tn asked me to take trazadone one night at 75mg and the next night take the seroquel xr and so on for about 5 days and then just drop the seroquel xr. I am quite confused by this and would like to know if anyone else has made this type of switch? I don't trust the withdrawl method at all. This is a new Dr. for me and has been practicing for over 40 years. I would think he knows it all. Any suggestions? Thanks.
Avatar m tn Right. Trazodone is an anti-depressant, a long time ago they found that it does cause sleep. For now, I take the Traz and it does work wonders for my sleep. I'm currently changing my medications and likely will give it up. Only using it as a backup. When Trazodone didn't work at first they up the mg until it did in detox. It's not a bad pill for addicts. Everyone is different as you well know. Good Luck to you youngdude.
Avatar n tn So i am day 10 of being sober off of a 6 year vicodin habit of 40 tabs of 750mg a day and cant get more than 3 hours of sleep a night. I just got a script from my doc for Seroquel and he says it will help with my sleep and anxiety. But he says it will be about 3-4 days of feeling pretty poor. I am feeling better every day and the last thing i want to do is go through 4 days of feeling like c r a p. I have tried Lunesta, melatonin and benadryl with no luck.
Avatar n tn I went off Seroquel and tried Abilify and one other (cant remember) but they did not work. I am now backon Seroquel 300 miligrams along with my Lithium and Pexeva. I feel like it doesnt work as well as it did the first time. I went up to 450 with Seroquel, but I am just way too sleepy. Does anyone know a drug that works well with Pexeva and Lithium? My biggest problems are racing thoughts and anxiety when I am off of the Seroquel. Help!
Avatar n tn I had anxiety before going to bed so I took ativan. I also took my seroquel and trazodone. Will I be ok?
Avatar n tn I have been on Seroquel for quite some time now and I have noticed that my memory has decreased immensely. I was wondering if this is a normal side effect from the Seroquel? Also, if I discontinue using Seroquel, will my memory return to normal?
Avatar f tn One night, I accidentally, took 2mg of Lorazepam and it worked great until Dec 1, 2010. I was put back on 100mg of Seroquel and it did not work at all. I took it for four days and quit. Next was Ambien CR, the 12.5mg dose allowed me to sleep for about 2 hours, a second dose would allow me to sleep for another hour. I even tried a third dosage without any success. A new doctor prescribed 100 to 200mg Trazodone and 15mg Mirtazapine.
Avatar f tn t have happenened. Okay now back to Seroquel. If a person goes off Seroquel and they need an antipsychotic, after a while the psychosis will return. If its treating mood stabilization same thing. That's not "addiction". That's the symptoms returning. That would be like saying if you went off insulin, your blood sugar level would get dangerously high. Of ocurse it would because the symptoms of diabetes would return.
403156 tn?1290150018 Lately I have been sleeping from 3-6 hours a night (I was prev sleeping 9-12 hrs/night) and wake up feeling exhausted. My doctor recommended trazodone and wrote a script for me. Does anyone have experience with trazodone used for sleep? I am up in the air about whether or not to take it. On one hand I want to sleep, but then I also do not want to take another med. What have your experiences been like? How do you feel on it? Thanks for any suggestions.
Avatar n tn it's very difficult to tell you what to do. True mood stabilization starts at 150 whereas for sleep 50mg. so your friend may be right if you can go back to 50 only for a few weeks. Perhaps this can help except that you should ask your pdoc 1st. It all depends on your withdrawal period because you said you stopped seroquel "2 weeks ago" which is not enough. I am on seroquel a year now and reached a year ago 300 now am on 125.
Avatar m tn Seroquel is a serious drug for serious mental illness. It was illegally marketed by the manufacturer (who has been fined and sued successfully for this) for just about everything. So this isn't a drug I would take for sleep (taking any drug for sleep can be a problem long-term, so I hope you're looking for the solution and not just relying on medication) given the strong side effect profile of drugs intended to treat psychosis.
Avatar f tn It affects my life, I fall asleep in the morning hours and sleep well into the afternoon. I currently take 200-300 mg trazodone, 1.5-2 mg clonazepam, and 10-20 mg zolpidem. What else is there for insomnia? I was on 100mg seroquel for insomnia. I hate the way it makes me feel; but it does work. I am now going back and forth with the pharmacy that dispenses the seroquel; I get mine through the AZandMe free meds program.
Avatar n tn thank you for your input. and your very kind words my problem is side effects. after 1 year of different combos i finally found seroquel and abilify with ativan and lexapro worked well for me. then the side effects hit. abilify and eye twitching. they did a b12 level on me cause research shows low b12 can also cause eye twitching. seroquel caused my bood sugars to go high but i have a strong family history of type 2 diabetes. any way.
Avatar n tn t hurt too much to combine Ambien, Trazodone, and/or Ativan - except REALLY strong sedation, and you could injure yourself. I'd start with the Trazodone alone and see if it works for you, if you think you will need something long-term it's the only one that won't put you on a roller-coaster ride of ups and downs, withdrawls, etc.
Avatar n tn i was switched to saphris to replace the abilify-------------anyone have info on this drug-----------------and lunstra and trazodone to replace the seroquel for sleep i don't feel well. i feel like i have a stomach flu. i'll call my dr tomorrow for advice on the new meds. maybe this will go away.
Avatar n tn I realize what you are saying. I am bi-polar and used to be on Zyprexa. When I was on it I had no trouble sleeping. But now I do not sleep well at all. A psychiatrist friend of mine suggested the possibility of taking 1 mg of Zyprexa. However, he cautioned that I should talk to my regular psychiatrist about this. This is why I just wanted to get feedback if anyone has tried this before.
Avatar m tn I would want to know from the members of this forum about how many people are using Seroquel only as a sleeping aid in doses of 25 mg and 50 mg.All suggestions and answers are welcome.
2080404 tn?1643113754 currently i'm on Nuerontin to stabilize the mood swings which helps a lot. instead of cycling multiple times each day, i cycle about once a week or less. it doesn't help the depression though so my doc put me on Abilify and Zoloft. the side effects of nausea and blurry vision is the only problems i have with it so far. Trazodone helps the insomnia but i've tried Seroquel twice and even a small dose made me sleep more than i should have been.
Avatar n tn Just wanted to chime in that my mom has chronic leg cramps, and she takes abilify and she used to take seroquel, but the leg pain seems to be chronic and when her leg cramps are really bothering her, it really takes away from her day. The only thing that seems to work is having somebody massage the legs, to get rid of the muscle stiffness... that seems to work better than ibuprofen.
