seroquel and eyes

Seroquel dose is too high I am practically sleep walking today and still want to close my eyes after a passed out nap I also had a migraine and took 2 Aleve 8 hours ago (no impact on the 'puffs'.) My doc and I have to get Zonegran out of my regimen (cognitive confusion, dangerously and abnormally thin) any thoughts on the puffiness?

I was in the company of others for the first time on seroquel, and it was horrible. I had to keep my eyes closed during conversations.. Could look anyone in the eyes because i couldnt rest my eyes on anything. It wasnt as bad when i walked about the room.. But still.. Not for me. Im glad its helping you lot, and i shouldn't be on it in the first place i guess.. but i feel i should share.. I find it hard to believe the benefits of this medication.

My 34 year old son is taking 150 mg imipramine, 6 (1mg) Clonozapam, and 400mg Seroquel, (down from 600 mg) per day. His side effects are weakness, irregular heartbeat and eye problems. One of his eyes has gotten so bad that he may have to get a cornea transplant. I cannot say for sure if the meds caused his eye problems, but he had perfect vision all during school and according to my research seroquel has been know to cause lens problems in the eyes.

I started taking 50mg of Seroquel in December for sleep. Shortly after I began to feel as if I couldn't breathe. I went to the ER and they checked me out and told me it was anxiety. So I saw My nurse practitioner and she prescribed Vistaril 50 mg 3x a day. I room it for a week. Still had the same symptoms. I figured out It was The seroquel. I tried to call the nurse but they are never available so I did not do my homework on this med and quit it cold Turkey.

I was aware Seroquel could cause cataracts when I took it in the past but I never got them and its rare but not unknown but just like when I got heart arrythmia from Geodon I had to change to something else. I believe your psychiatrist just means you have to stay on medication as for "working around it". But you could ask what antipsychotics don't cause cataracts and see if you could tolerate one of them.

If it were me, i would take up to 30 mg of diazepam instead of the seroquel.....and read the post above concerning one individuals experience with seroquel......lots of natural things that do work also. Check out the amino acid protocol and the Thomas Recipe posted at bottom right of page.

Insomnia, mania, and mixed episodes drove me crazy for years. Seroquel was the drug that finally kicked the worst of it. I had been on Zyprexa, Risperdal, Abilify, & Geodon, as well as Lamictal and Lithium and countless sleep drugs and sedatives. Seroquel isn't perfect, but it is magic for me compared to all of the other drugs I've been on. We're now adding in some Tegretol to see if it can make things even better. My husband - also bipolar - takes Seroquel too.

Sleep has a MAJOR affect on mood. I would be down right cranky on 2 hours sleep. It's important to set up what's called sleep hygeine. as well as self care. Have your meds changed recently or do you need to review them? I just switched over to Seroquel XR, and it's not doing much compared to split up doses, which I was actually a bit calmer in the day. Avoid stimulants, 1 cup of coffee is more then enough.

Ive had severe insomnia since i was a child. Anyways ive tried various antipsychotics through my psychiatrist. The most recent one i tried was olanzapine. The thing is, i only took 2 doses and right away i got muscle spasms and tics through my entire body. I came off it.

Hi. I am on Seroquel (300mgs) and I find it okay. It is the only way that I get a good nights sleep plus it is a great mood stabilizer. The only thing I find is that I need to be in bed within 30 - 40 minutes because otherwise I get very dizzy and feel sick if I stand up so I just make sure that I get to bed in that time frame after I've taken it. You should be okay with that dose as it is fairly low.

Since seroquel can cause high BG you sure your diabetic and not as a result of seroquel raising your BG? Go to Google and put seroquel into the serch field.

Hello I take Seroquel XR and needed a side effect drug as I was getting sudden movements, twitches and tensing calves, my pdoc said that out of all the anti psychotics that Seroquel was one of the least likely to cause these side effects but I still got them. I have noticed when my dose has been lowered or when I forget to take it I feel a generalised ache all over my body.

My first pregnancy i did bot use it and my daughter is very smart. I was wondering if any of you have used seroquel and delivered a healthy baby.

Has anyone taken Seroquel and anti-biotics and are now experiencing heart problems? Do these issues subside, I stopped the seroquel when this happened?

What can i do to get my energy back, to stop being so sleepy during the day? Its only 9am and i feel like my eyes are going to roll back in my head and i could fall asleep for hours here at my desk. Every atypical antipsychotic has the potential of metabolic changes that can cause weight gain and on ocassion diabetes but if you eat a sensible diet and exercise that can be kept under control (that also includes the second issue, a person I knew developed pre-diabetes from Abilify and through weight loss, proper dieting and exercise and following up with his doctor was able to keep this in check).

The knowledge that I have is that xanax and Seroquel do not have an impact on your liver. Also 50 mgs of Seroqeul is very low dose. I am on 600. However it looks like you have hepatitis c and you probably know you shouldn't drink because of that. There are likely a lot of medications that effect your liver. The only ones I know of are Tylenol and pain medicines that contain acetaminophen, but I am sure there are likely a lot more.

Don't quit the Seroquel abruptly -- taper off it. It's interesting you were put on Seroquel and are suffering insomnia -- the only way Valdoxan supposedly works is by increasing the effectiveness of melatonin, which regulates sleep cycles -- in other words, if it works at all for depression, and the evidence appears to be soft, it's by improving sleep.

com interactions checker. Fentanyl and depakote, topamax, and Seroquel are listed as increasing drowsiness, as does depakote + Seroquel. In addition, depakote + topamax can increase the drug levels of both meds, meaning that he's effectively getting a higher dose of both. Seroquel + topamax also has a slight risk of overheating, although that's a rare side effect and more common in children. I'm guessing the topamax is for migraines.

How safe is 200 milligrams of seroquel while pregnant and nursing? Also, is it dangerous to cut the pills in half to take a lesser dose? Or should you cut or break the pills at all?

I was on seroquel. It was awful. I was mean WHEN i did awake. the doctor put me on 300mg and I had to sleep a full day on it. So they lowered it but then i slept a 1/2 day so then they put it on 50 and I wouldn't sleep and when I slept I was mean as ever. So I no longer take seroquel. its not good for me.

I take 25mg seroquel at night and 200mg zoloft a day also. I plan on going to FL for vacation in July and when I get back I have to start Hep C treatments, I am going to drink one last time. Can I drink while Im on this med? I know that since I have been taking the seroquel I feel ALOT BETTER!! I was extremely depressed but now Im doin okay. I cant skip this med, Im afraid of that sever depression, but I also want ot let my hair down one last time. What would you suggest?
