Avatar m tn Oooh, this is interesting, Susie; I wonder if something has changed recently. I know some patient assistance programs in the past have stated they’ll deny assistance to insured, but on appeal they often will. Traditionally, both Roche and Schering Plough have provided assistance to uninsured as well as underinsured.

Avatar m tn If you are genotype 1, the standard of care is triple therarpy using a protease inhibitor, either Victrelis or Incivek in conjunction with interferon and ribavirin. The drug companies offer patient assistance programs but I do not know if this extends to Kenya. Here are the phone numbers to contact the drug companies directly. • Roche:1-877-734-2797 - The manufacturers of Pegasys plus Copegus have the Pegassist Patient Assistance Foundation.

Avatar m tn I finished treatment with Peg-Intron and Ribavirin in 2007, after a 24 week course. I acheived non-detectable levels of HCVRNA after 4 weeks of treatment. I have, however, since relapsed. My current doctor would like to retreat with Infergen and Ribavirin, with the belief that the HCV virus has developed some form of immunity to the pegylated interferon.

Avatar m tn could anyone give me ideas as to where or who i would contact to get some patient assistance for acute hep c treatment? I am not working, cannot wait on s.s. disability. I try to do some construction work when available, but it is really rough.
10608291 tn?1411415602 I was also Tx naive, with a low viral count. Gilead has patient assistance, so you can get that med for free. I was successful, and am now considered cured. Contact Gilead for their Patient Assistance Program. Good luck.
Avatar m tn I believe that Victrelis is available on an “Exceptional patient” (Patient d’exception) basis, whereby the cost of treatment is covered by the RAMQ, but the entire therapy must be requested from and approved by the RAMQ for that patient alone under the supervision of the requesting physician.
1628149 tn?1299785675 you can call the manufacturers of the HCV drugs to see if you’ll qualify for patient assistance; they often provide the drugs free of charge for those that are uninsured. However, they don’t cover doctor’s care, labs, procedure costs, etc.
Avatar m tn //cdn.salix.com/xifaxan550/assets/pdf/xifaxan-patient-assistance-program-application.pdf Lactulose does work when taken properly. You have to learn how to titrate it properly. It takes time. Too little infective. Too much...diarrhea which is not only an "inconvenient truth" of Lactulose but dehydration can trigger an HE episode. Ironic isn't it. Lactulose not only can manage HE but if improperly dosed it can case HE.
Avatar f tn I was able to get them through the patient assistance program that Gilead has. It is called Support Path. They are great. I highly recommend that if you have a prescription that is one of Gilead's drugs, i.e. Harvoni, or Vosevi and have been turned down by insurance, that you contact Gilead. Go to their website. I am not sure but is probably like Gilead.com. Or you could google SupportPath. Good luck to you. Vosevi was the easiest treatment I had! Barely any side effects at all.
Avatar n tn 1-877-734-2797 Depending on last years income, they night be able to help. This is their patient assistance program, and they are there to help uninsured and underinsured. If they accept you, they will provide assistance on both the riba as well as the interferon. You will treat for six months with genotype 2; I managed quite well for the first year of treatment; it wasn’t until later the next year I got hammered a little bit.

Avatar m tn I just want to add one more thing to Hector's excellent post: Solvadi, together with ribavirin, is available as a 24 week treatment for genotype 1 patients who are ineligible for interferon. My husband is expected to be starting this treatment in January.
