I also take the Propranolol twice a day for my heart. The Propranolol was prescribed for my heart and never for anything else. Now I am currently taking Propranolol in the morning along with Paxil, at night I take Propranolol again. I take the Klonopin is taken as needed twice a day.

I used to take a slow-release Propranolol 80 mg every day, which caused severe tiredness and extreme fatigue, to the point that I was not able to think straight and sometimes could not even get out of bed. Apparently, Propranolol also inhibits the ability for you to burn fat, not to mention gastrointestinal issues. Depression is also significantly higher when taking Propranolol.
I feel very tired a lot since starting the clonazepam but endo said to drop the morning dose of propranolol to 10mgs to see if it helps the fatigue. But I think I should drop the thyroid med to .75 5 days and .88 to 2 days. What are your thoughts on all this?
I am 18 years old and have been positivity diagnosed with POTS after a positive tilt table test.I am taking 80 mg Propranolol and 0.1 Fludrocortisone along with increased water and salt intake to treat my condition,which somewhat helps.But I also suffer from depersonalization and chronic fatigue .Is this a familiar experience for Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome ?
I just wanna know other than propranolol, are there foods that have beta blockers? I have benign essential tremor and it is most active when I'm speaking in front of group of people (these include hands, voice, and cheeks) but it happens all the time even in a normal day. what shall I do? Has anyone tried PROPRANOLOL for prevention of Migraines? I have struggled with headaches almost every day & Migraines aprox every 7-10 days for the last 10 years. Feverfew has helped but they now seem to be getting worst so I was thinking of asking my GP if I could try Propranolol.

I've been taking Propranolol for high blood pressure and tachycardia(10mg at 8am, 2pm, and 8pm) for about 18 days now, and four days ago I woke up feeling quite dizzy. Since then it seemed to get better, but now I feel lethargic, dizzy, and generally unwell. Is it my drug?

4 days ago pcp changed my beta blocker from propranolol 40mg twice daily to metprolol er 25mg daily d/t low pulse in 40s- 50s. Been on propranolol for 22yrs for PVCS. She had me just stop propranolol and start metoprolol, been experiencing shakiness, occassional pvcs, headache, nausea, pulse still 45 - low 60s at rest and with exertion 70-90. Should she have tapered propranolol or will the metoprolol block the more serious withdrawal symptoms ie: HTN, chest pain ect.

I take propranolol the dosage is up to your doctor it doesn't really make you tired although everyone is different but it doesn't me it's suppose to be for stress and anxiety but I don't think it helps very well you might consider ativan there isn't a medication that has propranolol in it there is a script of propranolol by itself it's not mixed with any medication
Sertraline and other Selective Serotonin Re-uptake Inhibitors (SSRIs) inhibit a certain enzyme which usually metabolizes Propranolol. Due to this inhibition, Propranolol action may be enhanced. But it will not be appropriate to look at this isolated piece of information and ignore other evidences.
We do have a lot of trials and reviews exploring the combination. There is no conclusive evidence which allows us to deem this combination unacceptable.
Results vary among people, but, for migraines, I was taking 240 mg Inderal LA (Propranolol slow release) every day, in divided doses, I was fine. One site I just viewed suggested dosing as 40mg twice a day of Standard Propranolol or 80 mg Slow Release once a day.
For the Standard Propranolol, they listed 640 mg as the maximum per day, in divided doses, so you're clearing that by a wide margin.
I have been prescribed an increase in propranolol for migraines and anxiety.I was taking 120mg in the morning(extended release) and my doctor has raised the dose to 160mg.
I had been taking the propranolol in the morning, but have read that the best time to take it is in the nighttime.

Hi, I'm dealing with tachycardia arrhytmia since more than 2 years now. My Cardilogist at first said it was dysautonomia and POTS and blame also my severe anxiety and was put on a beta blocker, propranolol 20 mg day. At first it was working on to stop the tachycardia but with time the effect wear off and had to increase my dose and then it was lowering too much my blood pressure so my Cardiologist switch me on another beta blocker...
5 years ago I started to have episodes of tachycardia, with palpitations, fatigue, shortness of breath, etc. My resting heart rate was usually around 80-100 bpm, but I would have random episodes where my heart rate would race around 150 or higher. After being evaluated by a cardiologist where tests (echo, 24 holter monitor) all came back inconclusive, my problem was simply passed off as anxiety.
I have frequent PVCs. I get bigeminy and trigeminy only when my heart rate is very slow, especially right before bed and up until i fall asleep.
I'm considering the minimum dose of propranolol as prescribed by my doc, but i'm very cautious and wanted to know what it is like and what any side effects and withdrawl might be like. what can i expect when taking this? i enjoy working out so i'm hoping it wouldn't affect my weight lifting and cardio that i like to do.

Based on your comments, you need to find a NEW DOCTOR immediately.
Find a new doctor that will listen to you. Listen to your symptoms.
All your symptoms like heart pounding, legs shaking, ears ringing, pain in
your left arm, nausea in the morning could be side effects of one of the

If any one can help answer my question, I would be so grateful. I have been hospitalized in the ER three times in the past two weeks for bradycardia. All this suddenly started happening in the last two weeks. I start to feel weak, have a seizure, this last time, I fell down on the kitchen floor and hit my head pretty good. I have had a high resting heart rate (100-130s) since July, and I finally decided to go ahead and try a beta blocker to help lower my heart rate and reduce the chest pain. I have normal-low blood pressure, so I know I'll have to keep an eye on that and any side effects. I don't remember which one my doctor said he was going to call in (I think it's propranolol), but I was just wondering if there is a beta blocker that works best... or do they all pretty much work the same?
