I am sorry to hear about your issues with nuvaring. I had started the nuvaring for perimenopause issues my gyn said would help. No docs Ive talked to since have heard of this being used for anything other than birth control my but tubs have been tied for years.After having nuvaring in for almost three weeks i started to bleed lite not spotting and its dark and not a pleasant smell at all never have had an Oder like that in 46 years and i cant stand it.

I've been on Nuvaring for 5-6 months now and I've skipped my period for 2 months now but I keep on spotting so I want to have a ring free week where i'll have my period, now that I want to have my period, will I still be protected from pregnancy for my ring free week even though I've been using the nuvaring continuiously to skip my period?

Extremely unlikely but not impossible for you to be pregnant. You could definitely be experiencing withdrawal symptoms from the BC, especially since you already took the pregnancy test.

my girlfriend was supposed to put in her new nuvaring on sunday night but was a day late and didn't put it in till monday. it says on the directions if this happens you should use backup protection for 7 days. we didn't wait 7 days and had unprotected sex on friday night (day 9 of cycle) and no withdrawal method was used. she refused to take plan b because she claimed she couldn't get pregnant. im freaking out now....what are the chances she got pregnant?

Well , I started the Nuvaring as soon as my period came on last Wednesday , as I was told by my doctor to do so . And it made my period light , but made me cramp for 4 days straight . So I took it out on the fourth day because I thought the cramps would stop . On the 5th day , my period went off as it should ; but came back on later that night . It was weird because it was brown at first . But the next day it was bright red and heavy and has been that way since .

Thank you so much for the advice. I already have two kids so I know what it feels like but the nuvaring also has similar symptoms. I'm gonna take a test next week to confirm. How long were you on the nuvaring when you became pregnant?

The nuvaring always made me have weird symptoms. I swear I thought I was pregnant all the time. I never was. But if you had unprotected sex and then put it in... well you had unprotected sex. Birth control isn't going to work until a week after you put it in which is why they say to double up the method. Best thing to do is wait until you're supposed to take it out and take a pregnancy test. Or take one now since you would have had sex 2 weeks ago and it should be pretty accurate.

Is pregnancy symptoms (sore breasts, sensitive nipples, nausea, constipation, cramping, fatigue, increased urination) a side effect from stoping nuva ring? I had a normal period Dec. 18-22 and am not expecting my period until the 17 of jan. but my symptoms started the 24th of dec. I stopped nuvaring on dec. 15th. I have tried resting, drinking gingerale, drinking less fluids, eating more ruffage.

I recently had unprotected sex with my new girlfriend who is on the Nuvaring birth control (however isn't any longer due to this problem) and a couple days later I noticed an intense burning sensation on my penis head and shaft. I started taking Benadryl from the advice from a Pharmacist, suspecting it was an allergic reaction to the Nuvaring. The Benadryl helped slightly but I cannot function on it since it really knocks me out.

ve got other symptoms causing issues, the hormonal methods are probably the best way to control them. What is it you don't like about the birth control pills? Is it taking them every day, or are you getting other side effects? If it's the schedule, ask your doctor if the nuvaring or the patch would have the right doses, since the nuvaring is once a month and the patch is once a week instead of a pill every day. I love having birth control.

I have been consistently using the nuvaring since November with great results! I experienced mild pregnancy symptoms after the first month, however I wrote them off because that is pretty common when starting a new form of contraceptive. i started Nuvaring 3 weeks ago yesterday when i was supposed to ive had sex w/o protection quite a few times since. I was supposed to start my period yesterday Im NEVER late early if anything I took a pregnancy test last night and it came back negative. Is it possible that I am pregnant and that its just not showing up positive yet?

That is most likely why ur experiencing these symptoms. No one can tell u if ur pregnant. You need to wait for a missed period to test or see a doctor.

I guess I should start at the beginning. I was on Nuvaring and was always regular (even when not on BC), I stopped Nuvaring Oct of 2015 due to having bad migraines, my gyn and I wanted to see if it was the cause. Still had them, so in February of 2016 I restarted it. I had a period the last week of Jan (was getting them every 2-3 weeks due to coming off of it). I had it again the week of Feb 2. I had protected sex Feb 5th and was still lightly bleeding then.

I decided to skip my last period, which was great, and I decided if the insurance lets me get it every three weeks I might skip my periods all the time or at least pretty frequently. I started using the NuvaRing on April 15th and before I used the IUD. I took out the NuvaRing on May 6th but did not have my period. So I put it back in 7 days later.
