Avatar f tn Well , I started the Nuvaring as soon as my period came on last Wednesday , as I was told by my doctor to do so . And it made my period light , but made me cramp for 4 days straight . So I took it out on the fourth day because I thought the cramps would stop . On the 5th day , my period went off as it should ; but came back on later that night . It was weird because it was brown at first . But the next day it was bright red and heavy and has been that way since .
Avatar f tn Extremely unlikely but not impossible for you to be pregnant. You could definitely be experiencing withdrawal symptoms from the BC, especially since you already took the pregnancy test.
Avatar n tn I have been on the nuvaring for three months now, yesterday at work while in the bathroom i noticed a small amount of brownish blood on the toilet paper . I normally have this type of blood at the beginning of my period. I experienced this while the nuvaring was still in, but thought it was just breakthrough bleeding. I went home on break and checked my calendar and realized i should have taken the nuvaring out the day before.
Avatar m tn I've been on Nuvaring for 5-6 months now and I've skipped my period for 2 months now but I keep on spotting so I want to have a ring free week where i'll have my period, now that I want to have my period, will I still be protected from pregnancy for my ring free week even though I've been using the nuvaring continuiously to skip my period?
Avatar n tn This time it was still painful, but no bleeding. Any ideas as to what is going on here? Is the Nuvaring the cause of all this pain? Do I still have a yeast infection 3 weeks later (itching and discharge are gone)? I was fine until I started this birth control and now I have had UTI, Yeast Infection and Sex hurts so much I don't want to do it anymore. Help.
Avatar f tn Hi there. I am on NuvaRing, started around the beginning of March. I decided to skip my last period, which was great, and I decided if the insurance lets me get it every three weeks I might skip my periods all the time or at least pretty frequently. Then I started wondering, is there any downside to it at all? Like does anything build up in your uterus that needs to come out? Just curious, thanks.
Avatar f tn I am now bleeding very heavy with severe pain in my abdomen. I am not supposed to take the Nuvaring out for my period yet also..why am I bleeding so heavy with it still in? Fatigue is worse than ever now too, along with the nausea and crippling pain.
7600327 tn?1393358885 t supposed to come on until you take the NuvaRing out, but I also know you can experience some bleeding while on birth control. Nevertheless I made a doctor's appointment & found out I was pregnant. At this point my doctor said she can't determine how far along I am, because she can't be sure if I was bleeding due to a period or if I was already pregnant. I'm scheduled for an ultrasound in a few days. I just wanted to know if anyone has experienced this.

Avatar m tn It's impossible to have implantation bleeding that quickly, if you get it at all, which most women don't. It's very likely bleeding due to switching b/c, and very very unlikely it's pregnancy.
1580452 tn?1296439703 My cramps last the normal duration (the first two days of bleeding), but the bleeding will not stop until I take the Nuvaring out and let my period run its course. Does this make any sense? My insurance won't cover replacing the ring every two weeks, but you're definitely not supposed to take it out for a week and put it back in. Also, this isn't helping me at all! I still have cramps, and, unless I want to bleed forever, I still have to have my period every month!
Avatar m tn I was due to take my nuvaring out on the 25th Nov 2011, so i did so. ((we have regular unprotected sex while on nuvaring)). My partner and I, same one, again had unprotected sex on the 27th Nov 2011 while nuvaring was NOT in place since i took it out on 25 Nov 2011. After the encounter, i peed like i normally do.
Avatar f tn ve started voltrex and Tylenol 3s for the pain. The outbreak started mid period. I am supposed to be inserting a new nuvaring in a few days. Sadly the outbreak will not be over. I'm concerned that inserting the ring will allow the virus access to the inside of my vagina. Currently the sores are all external. I will have to touch the sores to be able to effectively insert the nuvaring. Is it safe to do so mid-outbreak or should i wait a few weeks until it clears up.
Avatar m tn my girlfriend was supposed to put in her new nuvaring on sunday night but was a day late and didn't put it in till monday. it says on the directions if this happens you should use backup protection for 7 days. we didn't wait 7 days and had unprotected sex on friday night (day 9 of cycle) and no withdrawal method was used. she refused to take plan b because she claimed she couldn't get pregnant. im freaking out now....what are the chances she got pregnant?
Avatar f tn Throw the ring away and choose 1 of the 2 options below: 1. Insert a new ring immediately. This begins the next 3-week use period. You may not have a period but you may experience breakthrough spotting or bleeding. 2. Have your period and insert a new ring no later than 7 days from the time the previous ring was removed or expelled. This option should be chosen only if the ring was used continuously for the preceding 7 days.
Avatar n tn If the nuvaring was not remove until 4week after insertion, when removed should you get you cycle right way? And do you count that as your normal cycle?
Avatar f tn When I got off the NuvaRing I was the same way. It takes a couple months for your period to get back to normal, and your hormones can take even longer to regulate, so you do feel pregnant. I don't think you are, only because of my experience. But take a test. You could be! And if you aren't now, don't give up :] Good luck!
Avatar f tn But you also mentioned your on birthcontrol i never was on IUD but im on the nuvaring and it hurts when the guy hits the nuvaring but i dont have any blood...those re just some things you could ask your gyn to check you for...let me know what it is im interested and hope you get better!..
363110 tn?1340920419 I know af can be whacky after a baby but for those of you who got on birth control while still bleeding after baby did you experience the withdrawal bleeding that comes from the week of sugar pills or in my case the week without the ring?? After my first son was born we stuck with condoms and foam only. Until I get my iuc (mirena) i'm going to have that nagging worry because of dh. Thanks in advance ladies.

Avatar f tn I was instructed by my doctor to start taking the pill the first day of my period. Two days before my expected period I had some bleeding and I thought it was my period so I took the first pill. A few hours later I realized that I had not gotten my period but must have just spotted. I continued to take the pills regularly, I have taken five so far. (My doctor said that it would be ok to continue to take them). My question is, how does this affect my cycle? Should I expect some bleeding?
