Nuvaring breakthrough bleeding

Common Questions and Answers about Nuvaring breakthrough bleeding

nuvaring

Avatar m tn I agree. That would definitely be breakthrough bleeding. Birth control pills are known to cause a good bit of breakthrough bleeding, especially when you first start taking them. If you don't want to get pregnant, you should make sure you don't have sex without a condom.
1134902 tn?1296066144 if you suffer from alot of spotting or breakthrough bleeding while on the nuvaring it is not normal. My dr figures the hormones were too low for me.
Avatar n tn I experienced this while the nuvaring was still in, but thought it was just breakthrough bleeding. I went home on break and checked my calendar and realized i should have taken the nuvaring out the day before. I took the ring i had in out, and went back to work for four hours until i could pick up my new nuvaring at the pharmacy after work. I put it in as soon as i got home, thinking i was putting it in on the first day of my period so i would be immediately protected.
Avatar f tn d like to avoid any breakthrough bleeding.
Avatar f tn Throw the ring away and choose 1 of the 2 options below: 1. Insert a new ring immediately. This begins the next 3-week use period. You may not have a period but you may experience breakthrough spotting or bleeding. 2. Have your period and insert a new ring no later than 7 days from the time the previous ring was removed or expelled. This option should be chosen only if the ring was used continuously for the preceding 7 days.
Avatar f tn m supposed to take the Nuvaring out, and I wonder if that softened my cervix and caused this breakthrough bleeding? Or is this watery red blood, nausea, diarrhea, and mood swings all signs of early pregnancy? I took a HPT around week 2, and it was negative. I'm hoping it is just my body getting used to the new level of hormones! But I have heard many stories of people getting pregnant while using Nuvaring.
Avatar n tn Hi! I am currently on the NuvaRing and my doctor has me on it continually (so I can skip my period) every month. Problem is I've had breakthrough bleeding for the last 2 weeks. I've read this is normal, but can it really last up to 12 weeks? AND if tomorrow I am supposed to change it out, can I just take it out and get my period/cycle back to where it used to be where I'll get my period and then it will stop by next week?
587784 tn?1231359071 I am not sure if what I experienced was Implantation spotting or breakthrough bleeding and if I am still due my period on August 16th? My boobs have been very sore, more sore then when AF is coming and my nipples are so sensitive. I have been extremely tired and moody. Plus I have had more frequent headaches. Not sure if those are all signs from stopping Nuva Ring mid cycle or not.
Avatar n tn This time it was still painful, but no bleeding. Any ideas as to what is going on here? Is the Nuvaring the cause of all this pain? Do I still have a yeast infection 3 weeks later (itching and discharge are gone)? I was fine until I started this birth control and now I have had UTI, Yeast Infection and Sex hurts so much I don't want to do it anymore. Help.
Avatar f tn I am breakthrough bleeding during week 2 of birth control pills. Should I stop this pack and if yes, when do I start the new pack?
Avatar f tn Has anyone experienced breakthrough bleeding at 8 weeks and then stayed pregnant?
Avatar f tn Breakthrough bleeding also depended on other factors like dose, potency, and activity of the particular progestin in the combined OC as well as the ratio of the estrogen and progestin in the formulation and other factors like missed pills and smoking. So this bleeding that you are having is breakthrough bleeding, but it is important to find out whether it is due to switching the contraceptive pills or due to pregnancy.
Avatar f tn For the first 3 months I had thrush exactly a week before I was due on every month as well as breakthrough bleeding. That went by the 4th month but the breakthrough bleeding still happened. It started slowly going so I thought finally I was getting somewhere but its suddenly increased again. The doctors are now putting me on a new pill called Gedarel which contains 30 mg ethinylestradiol and 150mg desogestrel.
Avatar n tn s something call breakthrough bleeding, that usually happens in the 1st trimester. Got an u/s and my baby/me is okay. But still see your Dr to be safe, and get that security.
Avatar f tn I am now bleeding very heavy with severe pain in my abdomen. I am not supposed to take the Nuvaring out for my period yet also..why am I bleeding so heavy with it still in? Fatigue is worse than ever now too, along with the nausea and crippling pain.
7600327 tn?1393358885 t supposed to come on until you take the NuvaRing out, but I also know you can experience some bleeding while on birth control. Nevertheless I made a doctor's appointment & found out I was pregnant. At this point my doctor said she can't determine how far along I am, because she can't be sure if I was bleeding due to a period or if I was already pregnant. I'm scheduled for an ultrasound in a few days. I just wanted to know if anyone has experienced this.

1580452 tn?1296439703 My cramps last the normal duration (the first two days of bleeding), but the bleeding will not stop until I take the Nuvaring out and let my period run its course. Does this make any sense? My insurance won't cover replacing the ring every two weeks, but you're definitely not supposed to take it out for a week and put it back in. Also, this isn't helping me at all! I still have cramps, and, unless I want to bleed forever, I still have to have my period every month!
Avatar m tn I was due to take my nuvaring out on the 25th Nov 2011, so i did so. ((we have regular unprotected sex while on nuvaring)). My partner and I, same one, again had unprotected sex on the 27th Nov 2011 while nuvaring was NOT in place since i took it out on 25 Nov 2011. After the encounter, i peed like i normally do.
959562 tn?1247109979 But keep in mind, that the bleeding you have on the pill is not a real period, it is called forced bleeding, you get this because when you are off the pill for that one week, your body is withdrawing from the estrogen in your pill and every women is diff on how your body reacts. Some women gain weight etc.....plus there are all diff brands and amounts of estrogen and progestron.
Avatar n tn If the nuvaring was not remove until 4week after insertion, when removed should you get you cycle right way? And do you count that as your normal cycle?
Avatar f tn When I got off the NuvaRing I was the same way. It takes a couple months for your period to get back to normal, and your hormones can take even longer to regulate, so you do feel pregnant. I don't think you are, only because of my experience. But take a test. You could be! And if you aren't now, don't give up :] Good luck!
Avatar f tn But you also mentioned your on birthcontrol i never was on IUD but im on the nuvaring and it hurts when the guy hits the nuvaring but i dont have any blood...those re just some things you could ask your gyn to check you for...let me know what it is im interested and hope you get better!..
