I agree. That would definitely be breakthrough bleeding. Birth control pills are known to cause a good bit of breakthrough bleeding, especially when you first start taking them.

I experienced this while the nuvaring was still in, but thought it was just breakthrough bleeding. I went home on break and checked my calendar and realized i should have taken the nuvaring out the day before. I took the ring i had in out, and went back to work for four hours until i could pick up my new nuvaring at the pharmacy after work. I put it in as soon as i got home, thinking i was putting it in on the first day of my period so i would be immediately protected.

m supposed to take the Nuvaring out, and I wonder if that softened my cervix and caused this breakthrough bleeding? Or is this watery red blood, nausea, diarrhea, and mood swings all signs of early pregnancy? I took a HPT around week 2, and it was negative.

Hi! I am currently on the NuvaRing and my doctor has me on it continually (so I can skip my period) every month. Problem is I've had breakthrough bleeding for the last 2 weeks. I've read this is normal, but can it really last up to 12 weeks? AND if tomorrow I am supposed to change it out, can I just take it out and get my period/cycle back to where it used to be where I'll get my period and then it will stop by next week?
This time it was still painful, but no bleeding. Any ideas as to what is going on here? Is the Nuvaring the cause of all this pain? Do I still have a yeast infection 3 weeks later (itching and discharge are gone)?
I was fine until I started this birth control and now I have had UTI, Yeast Infection and Sex hurts so much I don't want to do it anymore.

For the first 3 months I had thrush exactly a week before I was due on every month as well as breakthrough bleeding. That went by the 4th month but the breakthrough bleeding still happened. I am now bleeding very heavy with severe pain in my abdomen. I am not supposed to take the Nuvaring out for my period yet also..why am I bleeding so heavy with it still in? Fatigue is worse than ever now too, along with the nausea and crippling pain.
I was due to take my nuvaring out on the 25th Nov 2011, so i did so. ((we have regular unprotected sex while on nuvaring)). My partner and I, same one, again had unprotected sex on the 27th Nov 2011 while nuvaring was NOT in place since i took it out on 25 Nov 2011. After the encounter, i peed like i normally do.
If the nuvaring was not remove until 4week after insertion, when removed should you get you cycle right way? And do you count that as your normal cycle?
When I got off the NuvaRing I was the same way. It takes a couple months for your period to get back to normal, and your hormones can take even longer to regulate, so you do feel pregnant. I don't think you are, only because of my experience. But take a test. You could be! And if you aren't now, don't give up :] Good luck!
