I was instructed by my doctor to start taking the pill the first day of my period. Two days before my expected period I had some bleeding and I thought it was my period so I took the first pill. A few hours later I realized that I had not gotten my period but must have just spotted. I continued to take the pills regularly, I have taken five so far. (My doctor said that it would be ok to continue to take them).
My question is, how does this affect my cycle? Should I expect some bleeding?
My partner and I, same one, again had unprotected sex on the 27th Nov 2011 while nuvaring was NOT in place since i took it out on 25 Nov 2011. After the encounter, i peed like i normally do. Literally within the hour i began to feel a light cramping in my lower abdomen (i can point to it better then i can explain it im sorry) but it was predominately on my lower left side moving to the right and sort of down on occasion.
My periods have been very heavy with the past one lasting two weeks with large tissue discharge. It just ended Sunday after beginning one week before removing Nuvaring and only ending once Nuvaring was reinserted. It is so irregular that I could bleed any time of the month at any intensity for any period of time. This past one was so bad that I had to sleep with a heating pad nightly. What could this mean?
I'm nearly 51; periods are irregular, are getting lighter and further part, and I no longer get PMT. I've also learned recently that I have a severe bicornuate uterus. I've recently started a new relationship; he has trouble with condoms, I don't want to take the pill (causes continual bleeding for me), I don't want a coil because of the uterine abnormality and my GP has told me that my chances of getting pregnant are very slim.
Oh gosh, that's all hard. My mom developed the issue after kids. Remember, that through fertility, MOST women do get pregnant. Not everyone but I believe the statistic is 95% have a child. I totally get saving eggs. I think that would give you piece of mind that one way or the other, you will have children. For the record, I had my kids 'later' as others here have. I had two right before 40. I had a lot of issues in my 20's and early 30's.

Never during that whole time I was in the hospital or months afterwards did any doctor link the pancreatitis to the NuvaRing. I remember having bleeding in the hospital a week early even though the ring was still in. At that time I just thought it was because of the catheter and the nurses did not think it was anything to worry about.
My questions are:

I experienced this while the nuvaring was still in, but thought it was just breakthrough bleeding. I went home on break and checked my calendar and realized i should have taken the nuvaring out the day before. I took the ring i had in out, and went back to work for four hours until i could pick up my new nuvaring at the pharmacy after work. I put it in as soon as i got home, thinking i was putting it in on the first day of my period so i would be immediately protected.
Many people have experienced pains and light bleeding while having intercourse and using nuvaring. It seems to affect everyone differently, but it's very likely the nuvaring is the source of your problems. I would suggest trying a different form of birth control, as this one is obviously not for you.
I was looking into the implant, but i have heard it can cause alot of irregular bleeding. Does anyone have any experience of this? The other obvious one was the combined pill. These will probably be the best options for me i think as i don't want something that will stop my periods completly such as the injection. I'm not keen on the coil either as a friend of mine had one and it caused an infection. Anyway thanks for any advice!
In the past few months I have had irregular periods and some spotting one month. Just recently the tiny bumps have spread to around my vulva. They've been there about a month and do not hurt. I also have some tiny pinpoint bumps in lines near my urethra and vagina.
Kind of unrelated, but I started the Nuvaring about three weeks ago. For the first week it went up fine and stayed in place. However, for the past week or so it's been slipping and causing some irritation.
The next day I was feeling really weak and sick, and I started waking up really nauseous every morning, and I end up going back to sleep to sleep it off and stay in bed until afternoon. Yesterday I freaked out because my back was hurting and with the nausea I thought I might have a kidney infection or something, but it's kinda been coming and going.
I was on the nuva ring for 3+ years, and the first month and a half i had irregular spotting because my ob/gyn said I was adjusting to the hormones. After that I only got my period during the time my nuva ring was out and usually not the entire week but just 3-5 days. How long have you been on the nuva ring?
m supposed to take the Nuvaring out, and I wonder if that softened my cervix and caused this breakthrough bleeding? Or is this watery red blood, nausea, diarrhea, and mood swings all signs of early pregnancy? I took a HPT around week 2, and it was negative.
I'm hoping it is just my body getting used to the new level of hormones! But I have heard many stories of people getting pregnant while using Nuvaring.
