hey, I don't know if you ever found out what that lump on your neck/shoulder was, but if you did, what was it? I have one too, right where the neck meets the shoulder, but have not ever had any injury. Anyway, i hope evrerything is okay now.
I'm a 30 yr old female with anxiety disorder and constantly under stress. Recently, I noticed a small lump on my right side, towards the bottom of my neck (between the base and shoulder). It is painless, moveable, and changes in size throughout the day, but it is never bigger than approximately 1 cm. It feels spongy at times, but then it gets firmer. I've also been experiencing sinus/allergy/rhinitis issues due to the season. Other than that, I have no other symptoms.
I have a lump on the bottom of my neck on the left hand side. Every time I rub the lump it hurts really bad and releases tension allowing me to crack my neck. I can't quite figure out what the lump is and if it is harmful. I think its pressing on a nerve. The lump is sometimes swollen and sometimes not. Does anyone know what it could be? Its been around for going on two years. Thanks for reading and I hope to recieve awesome feedback!
What muscle could be pulled that would cause pain in both above the chest and my armpit/shoulder? Or what ligament could/would be torn? My doctors don't know what to do with me anymore. I've tried Ibruprophen and aspirin as well as Naproxen, but I'm not sure if they work seeing as how the pain comes and goes so quickly anyway. and, do pulled muscles last for more than 7 months? It's not a pain I have every day, and I seem to excecise okay, too.
I was never free of pain and after the surgery the pain started going down my right arm into my hand with numbness and tingling in all the fingers. Approx. one year later I developed a lump on the top of my shoulder, which to me looked as if it was in the center the clavical. An MRI was done which showed osteophyte formation at the acromioclavicular joint with degeneration. My doctor referred me to another orthopedic surgeon.
between neck and shoulder area. This is more on the shoulder toward the front slightly where shoulder meets neck. I see the same on the other side but on the right side it is more puffy, swollen. No pain. No lump. Just swollen area three inchs x two inchs? Is this normal, I may have never noticed or is this a swollen lymp node?
I have a lump on the left side of my neck, just above the shoulder. It's tender to the touch, and is about the size of half a golf ball. I assume it's just a cyst or something, but what's worrying me is that for the last year I've have had chronic, yet weak kidney, lung, testicle and abdominal pain. It doesn't really help that I'm overweight, but yeah, just letting you know. I've had an increase in small moles on my neck, including one where the lump is located.
Pain and stiff neck that radiates down my left shoulder, left shoulder blade that aches with almost constant pins and needles that wake me up every hour when sleeping.Pain that goes down my left arm and hammers my left elbow which has just had it's 8th cortisone(couldn't live without them)...Live on panadeine forte, morpine tabs, voltaren.and to add a little salt to the wound i'm now experiencing the same symptoms on my right side .Mirrored exactly!should be exciting...
Hello. I have a lump on the left side of my neck, half to an inch away from the shoulder It i think started 2 years ago (maybe earlier and i didn't think anything about it) beginning as a small lump (pea shape), which over the span of a week turns bigger and bigger to the size of a walnut. going from non-sensitive to very sensitive to touch as it grows, also as it progresses to get bigger it then turns pink into a very noticeable red (many co-workers thought i had a hickey on my neck).
I noticed a 2 pea sized lump just last night. One lump (left side of my neck) just 3 inches above the end of my collar bone and the other lump just an inch above almost inline to my other lump, few inches down the back of my ear. Mine are both a bit painful, hard & still. I told my hubby about it cause I'm worried it might be something serious cause a couple of weeks ago I feel dizzy but dizziness just come & go, also I've been complaining about my backache since I was in grade school.
I have had pain in my neck and right shoulder which is not limited to one specific area, but radiates from all angles of the scapula (above, below and both sides). Additionally, my last 2 fingers of my left hand are numb. The symptoms have been present for about 4 years and have become increasingly worse (to an almost consistent level of 6-10, even after sleep). Through this I HAVE retained complete range of motion.
As soon as I awoke I had awful shoulder pain after recheck my neck doctor sent me to shoulder doctor. I was told my shoulder was torn and they did surgery. Now I have awful shoulder pain in both arms and can't sleep due to pain. post op shoulder post op neck. I DONT THINK I had a torn shoulder this pain is so bad I would have known before neck surgery...... wow what are they doing.....
The worst one of all that I cant hardly take anymore is when I walk each step theres a squish clicking noise and it not only sounds like in the back of my neck but its in my forehead right above the bridge of my nose too. I cant tell for sure though if its coming from just my neck or both neck and forehead. I have a ear problem, tapping sound I can feel right before it happens when I move around sometimes, or just noises makes a muffled sound only when its quiet.
I feel pain and pressure radiating from this lump in my neck, ear, shoulder and eye all on the right hand side. This pain is steadily getting worse and I have had a couple of occasions where I have fainted. I have in the last two days discovered another lump on the top of my head roughly where my crown is which is quite sore. The first lump doesn't hurt any more than normal when pressed, but on examination my doctor pressed something that made a pain shoot up my head and down my neck.
I have also discovered a lump in my neck right behind my ear and by my jaw line. It doesn't move and it isn't painful but I'm very concerned about it. I've been gaining weight and have been extremely fatigued. I just moved to Florida and don't have a doctor yet. Do you think I should have it checked at an urgent care or hospital? Does anyone know what it could possibly be?
It is situated above and to the right of her left shoulder on the back, almost at the nape of the neck (so between shoulder blade and neck but up high at the nape of the neck). It is under the skin and can be felt at the nearly same position even if the skin is shifted around (we think it may not be a part of the skin), it feels like it is situated on the muscle under the skin. She has had it a week and she finds it annoying.
I also have noticed slight hyperpigmentation right below the back of my neck between my shoulder blades that itches sometimes. I'm sure it's a silly post and it sounds like I'm falling apart.. So before I get lectured to just go to the DR, I know I should just get the sucker checked out, but I'm just curious if it seems benign to an outsider with anymore experience with this sort do stuff than me.
A week or so after my throat quit hurting I started getting swollen lymph nodes on my right side at the base of my neck-shoulder area which sometimes can be seen and can always be felt. It is significantly larger than my left side. I also developed a lump between my ear and jaw. (same side) It is not something that is easily felt from the outside by others. However, I can feel it and move it around. It hurts to do so though.

While massage my left skull, I have noticed the lump located exactly on the left-side on the bone above my left-ear, as I pressed on it, the area seemed to trigger a point that made my migrane even painful, then noticed that it travels to my left eye and beleive it or not even my left sinus area. Ready to call the hospital for an appointment... Any suggestions on what to do in the meantime or anyone would know what this could be?
2 days after that (went to the doctor on 7th dec) I noticed a small lump that can move slightly on the back of my neck left side...it is painless and doesnt bother me, however I can move it a little bit back and forth...atleast thats what it feels like anyways....I also have been since the weekend getting random numbness in my arms...from the tricep all the way to the fingers or wrist...I am going to go back to the doctor next week, I just worried about this right now though...
I was very surprised and nervous to discover a tender lump the size of a chestnut, just below my sternum and above my stomach. All kinds of scenarios went racing through my head! But after reading the multitude of posts on this website, I feel much more at ease that I'm experiencing "xiphoid process" Thank you to all of you have posted, and helping those who just got here.
Use a large pot of water and place pads in to a boiling point and then keep on medium boil adding extra water as needed and then take out the pad or pads and place on three layers of heavy towels folding each towel one at a time. Place a thin towel over the neck and also the shoulder and then place the hot towels over those areas and leave on for 20 mins before and sometimes after exercises.
A chest x-ray wouldn't show nerve impingement & a disc Bulge would have to be large to see on any basic x-ray. Most people that use computers have their neck curved for hrs. & then get this shoulder pain. I used a microscope yrs ago & had to take breaks to neck stretch from similar problem. That was before computers were around. Only way to really dx is to have a Cervical mri.
I take muscle relaxers and pain pills now for 2 years and my pain is worse since the horrible surgery,i feel a hard extremely painful lump right above the site i had operated on and twitching, numbeness, headaches, swallowing issues and i can go on and on.I will listen to all that is offered.thank you.
I was in an accident which caused a whiplash 28 yrs ago and I still have problems with pain (no ear problem) down my neck, back/under shoulder blade and sometimes down my arm. I also feel and hear neck crackling, so, I do neck exercises which seem to help. Synthroid is more stable than natural which comes from a pig and has way too much T-3 and too much for us humans, although some do well on it, if there is no heart issue(s) and you see doctor regularly to be monitored.
However, it is close to the lump we found on the back of my neck. I don't know how long I had the lump on the back of my neck. It could have been a very long time or something that has developed in the past 1/2 year or so (that's when we found it). The neck pain I have had has been years and I always just thought it was a stiff neck, but, now wonder if it was this "lump" all along.
