Small lump in neck that moves

Common Questions and Answers about Small lump in neck that moves

lump

Avatar n tn In most cases, a lump that moves is better news than a hard, stationary lump. However, it wouldn't hurt to have an ultrasound just to be sure, so ask your doctor to order one. If he refuses, ask him to refer you to someone else. Good luck to you!
Avatar n tn Hi I need some help . I have a lump on my left side of my shoulder between my neck and shoulder and it's not to big or small and it's under my skin and moves around. Is it something to be worried about ?
Avatar n tn I noticed this weekend a big lump in neck between adams apple and base of neck; the lump moves when i swallow - went to er and it said swollen cartilage - i'm not comfortable with this diagnosis. Anyone else experienced this? thanks.
Avatar n tn Is it normal to have small, hard, just slightly smaller than pea sized bumps in this area of the neck? Or is it a good chance of being cancer? I will ask my Dr this week, but I am hoping to get some peace of mind until then. Thanks.
Avatar m tn About 6 months ago I felt a small lump in the left side of my neck, I believe it is located by or is the Suboccipital lymph node. It's no bigger then 1cm and you can ALMOST not feel it when touching from the outside, but definitely is there and feels very uncomfortable for me as I can most definitely feel it inside the neck muscle.
Avatar n tn well you want to make sure its nothing serious, id go to the doc. but its probably nothing life threatening, there is so many different kinds of "lumps" that can be felt in that location, where exactly on your neck is it? you just want to pay attention to it size wise see if it moves upon tightening of muscles, or upon any muscular directional movement...
Avatar m tn I just noticed a small lump ON the middle of my spine, on my neck about an inch below the hairline. Its the size of a marble, and not noticeable without palpating the area. Its painless, and moves very slightly only when I relax the muscles in my neck. Any suggestions on what this may be? Is there even lymph nodes near that spot? 24 yr old smoking male if that helps at all.
Avatar n tn Hi Jamie, my daughter is 11 and has the same lump, or it sounds similar. Hers is on the left side as well. Occasionally hers will swell up larger, like a small rubber bouncy ball size, it hurts her to touch it. I took her to our family doctor and he said it's a bone that moves, I thought he was crazy. But he ended up sending her to an ENT (ear, nose & throat) doctor because she was also having sore throats all the time.
Avatar n tn Hiya my name is Emma i think i have found a lump by my right glands in my neck it does hurt when i eat, swallow or talk. it moves when i eat, swallow and talk. Avatar m tn Im not totally sure that I even have this or that this is what the lump is that im feeling in my neck but it seems like the correct location. I have read that along with swallowing the lump should up and down. My small lump moves as well with swallowing except it seems to move from side to side. Does this mean that its something different? Does it not matter the direction of the movement? Either way I found this lump almost 8 months ago and it doesnt seem to have grown. Its pea size.
Avatar f tn Hi, my boyfriend works in freezers 5 days a week and has had a persistent cold for years which comes and goes, 3 years ago I found a small movable lump on the right side of his neck halfway between the bottom of the ear lobe and the collarbone. Could the two possibly related, I was sure it was an enlarged lymph node that hadn't gone back down to size after an infection. It's very small and moves around and is soft not hard.
Avatar n tn Hi, I'm a 26 year old male and recently I've had a few small lumps underneath my skin, along my jawline. They caused the surface of my skin to be slightly red, and they were very tender to the touch. They are no longer painful at all, but I can still feel one on my jaw, and it isn't completely fixed in place. If I push on it, it moves slightly. Also, one of them surfaced slightly and leaked clear fluid.
Avatar m tn Hi. I noticed a small lump on the side of my neck today, under my skin. My smoking recently picked up, after getting a construction job, so the lump is really freaking me out. I know I have to go to see a doctor, but am uncomfortable going to my family doctor. Does anyone know if walk in clinics can get the job done? I'm not sure if they'll have all the equipment necessary to check.
Avatar f tn I have a lump on my adams apple- right in the cup of the neck. It was tender the other day it was red and irritated and a co-worker noticed it is why I know of it but now it is noticeable. Doesn't hurt when I swallow but you can see it going up and down. It was softer the other day but now seem firm now. Any clue what it could be?
Avatar m tn The lump seem to almost double in 2 months which is a bit concerning, i imagine. Also, I found some small painless lumps in the neck, below the skin in the backside of the neck (the ultrasound was made on the front and the sides of the neck, mostly around tyroids so it did not detect those ones). Tyroid seems heatlhy and normal sized - level of hormones from tyroid seems normal as well. I will go to the oncologist and hopefully do the biopsy and full blood test. That is my next step.

Avatar f tn The pain now goes from middle right rib cage to the middle back in a straight line. I also noticed a small lump on lower rib area that moves around when pushed. Anyone know what this could be.?

Avatar f tn Hi I have had this small pea sized lump on the left side of my neck right above my collar bone for nearly 9 years now 18 years currently. It has never gotten bigger it moves around and feels rubbery it is painless. I have never really paid much attention to it since I have never had any symptoms plus all the blood scans and x rays I've gone for have never spotted it.

Avatar m tn About 6 weeks ago I noticed in the shoulder/neck area on my left side I had a small little lump (feels like less than 1cm, almost like a pea maybe?). I figured I was getting sick (sure enough 2 weeks later I had bronchitis, bad cough, fever, and went on a Z-pack). I'm a 20 year old healthy male with psoriasis (hasn't really acted up much my father has it too it got worse as he got older). Family history is very healthy.

Avatar m tn I have a lump on the back of my neck in the middle next to the top of my spine. It appeared about 6 months ago the size of a pea but has grown now to about the size of a marble, its very hard and has started to hurt a little as if I have been sleeping the wrong way. When you touch it it moves around slightly.Has anyone got any advice on what it could be as Im starting to get a little worried especially as it has grown.
Avatar f tn Hi, the main thing to keep in mind for now is that the non-cancer causes are more likely than any cancer. Also, lymphoma usually isn't painful like yours is.
