314276 tn?1235081223 I got an ayurvedic product online that is an Indian hair loss treatment, it was an oil and a shampoo - it really made my hair nicely conditioned - but the mayo will probably work as well, olive oil is good too - add a few drops of rosemary and cedarwood essential oils, leave on as long as possible before washing out, maybe overnight.

Avatar f tn I guess it could be a change of season, but actually my co-worker brought up something to me that made a little sense, he said that due to my recent weight loss, I could be losing hair because I don't have enough of the vitamins and nutrients in my body. In April I started following the PALEO diet and I have lost 30 pounds since I started with GM in December. I am down to 105 lbs.
Avatar n tn Yes i felt like i was gonna go bald. I changed my vitamins and it stopped but im not sure if it was them or not.
Avatar f tn Has anyone had hair loss post tx, like 1 yr. later. I am having alot of hair loss in the past 3 weeks. I am also wondering if it is o.k. to take hair vitamins. Not currently on tx. I take fish oil, garlic, vit D and calcium. I think since I am not on tx. that this is O.K. Am I wrong?
Avatar f tn Those can add to hair loss believe it or not. Newly prescribed meds can have an affect on our hair unfortunately. Also, stress can as well. Scratching your scalp? And if you are anemic at all. When is the last time you had a full physical, by the way?
Avatar n tn Hi, Most people normally shed 50 to 100 hairs a day and this amount of hair loss should not cause noticeable thinning of the scalp hair. Hair thinning and loss could be due to increased rate of shedding compared to the rate of regrowth. This could be due to: hormonal changes, poor nutrition, diseases, certain medications, infections and stress.
Avatar f tn I'm losing hair too. Not in clumps but I clog the drain once a week from my hair loss. And all my friends said their hair was so full and healthy during pregnancy and after lost some. Avatar f tn So I've posted before about my hair feeling like hay since I been pregnant and my doc said it's normal it can go either way. Well I'm 100% natural and usually dnt have problems with finding good hair products. I've decided to cut it and start over but with wen products. I know it says it works on all types of hair and races but I'm a little skeptical about how it will work on natural hair. Has anyone used this before and seen great results!?
436713 tn?1408884730 d talk to people about what has the lowest side effect of hair loss. Take your iron and vitamins, but yes, it will take some time to restore your iron. Celiac disease did cause my iron deficiency and D. My doctor gave me B vitamin shots. Try Neutrogena Clean shampoo or neem shampoo with no conditioner to make your hair look fluffy. Try to use gluten-free shampoos. Nizoral can be helpful if you have inflammation or buildup from the vitamin deficiencies.
Avatar m tn 5 I am on 50mcg of Synthroid and 5mcgs of Cytomel T4. I am at a loss as I am doing everyting in my power to help stop this hair loss. I've practially eliminated gluten from my diet. I eat salmon and lean meats. No soda, coffee, tea. I drink a 1/2 gallon of water each day. I use top salon shampoos.
Avatar f tn Im 16weeks and loss about half of my hair. It makes me depress everytime i see how plenty of hair i loss. I tried every hair fall shampoo but none of those worked. I don't wanna comb my hair anymore.
Avatar f tn It's really the pregnancy. The estrogen prevents hair loss. It make it healthier though.
Avatar m tn These past few months i have realised that my hair has become alot thinner than it used to be.i am really quite worried because every time I wash my hair, at least about 20 hairs fall out. (I wash my hair every 2 days) not only this, my hair always feels really dry and very itchy, it sometimes even stings a bit. even when input conditioner in my hair it is still dry and itchy. Although my hair is dry I don't usually see any dandruff.
Avatar f tn Stress is a huge reason for hair loss on anyone. My mom experienced hair loss while undergoing treatments. I have experienced hair loss for stress, medications for migraines (seizure meds for prevention will do it every time). Also my doctor put me on a great prenatal vitamin that helped with my hair loss and I started to have new growth. Soak with your doctor and see what he recommends. Could be a simple imbalance due to stress in itself or the cancer side effects.
Avatar f tn Eat well. Pregnancy-related hair loss can be a symptom of a diet deficient in essential vitamins and nutrients. Make sure that you are eating a well-balanced diet, with plenty fruits and vegetables, and taking any vitamin supplements your doctor has prescribed. Avoid frequent hair washings, and refrain from over-styling your hair. You may even want to consider a short style until at least 6 months postpartum, when estrogen levels return to normal and hair loss is minimized.
Avatar n tn The hair does not always grow back the same way after chemo. There are hair/nail vitamins that can be taken -- they are available over-the-counter -- it sometimes helps. The thyroid medication itself would not cause the hair problems -- but thyroid imbalance can contribute (ie if the levels aren't on target).
Avatar f tn Hello, Thinning of hair is observed when taking some medications. You need to pay attention to your diet. Your hair needs vitamins and minerals to grow that it can only get from the bloodstream. So if you want to speed up your hair growth and thickness you should limit the intake of fat and salts. Selenium, zinc and magnesium are some of the minerals that your hair needs and also amino acids and vitamin E will help in growing hairs.
1755562 tn?1314793246 I did lose a rather significant amount of hair. I took hair vitamins with biotin a month before I started and used all Nioxin products leading up to the start. Like copyman said, treatment affects everyone differently. My hair started to thin out but I was then afflicted with a rash from hell that included my scalp and I think that had more to do with hair loss than the actual meds. One thing that helps is to have a short layered cut.
Avatar n tn Anemia is common in pregnancy and a big cause for female pattern hair loss. Maybe iron supplements would help. But blood tests would say for sure. Also thyroid count (low or high) can affect hair loss.
314276 tn?1235081223 You can go ahead and put the rinse in - but this is a symptom of being sick and any chemicals used could push more hair loss for you. I am a dark blond and lighten too. I have a ton of hair so when mine was thinning it wasn't a big deal. Hair follicals are very sensitive to any hormone changes. So you may not be able to control this until your hormones balance.
Avatar n tn I suffer from hair loss in the entire body (head hair, leg hair, chest hair and hand hair ) Is it a disease or a lack of a vitamins. i don't know the reason.
Avatar n tn Hair loss has many causes. Over or under-medication is one, but their are others (deficient of minerals or vitamins, etc.). But, I know some patients that are very particular and they prefer one brand of medication (or even one specific brand of generic meds). If you don't like one brand, it is okay to be adamant about asking your doctor to switch to an alternative thyroid medication.
Avatar f tn The more combing one does and the more pulling or stress on the hair, potentially leads to more hair loss. So I cut my hair to try to help it stay on my head. I also use an organic hypoallergenic shampoo and a very wide toothed comb. If your hair is going to fall out in clumps, I don't think there is much one can do about that. And some people will lose much of their hair.
