Avatar m tn I think if this combination is working for you, then continue it. What you have to realize though is that OCD is for life. We will always have it but we can live very well with managed OCD. If you decide to stop your regimen and you have problems, it would be good to have some cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) to fall back on.
Avatar n tn there are lots of herbal/vitamin remedies on market ( i just googled for natural remedies for OCD) that included remedies called amoryn, mindsoothe, purecalm and so on, i didn't use any of them, but reading the testimonials, there were many from previous ocd sufferers who got help from the herbal products, maybe they could help you too. Also, a woman called Mary Reed cured her own ocd with natural remedies and now helps others with the stuff that she used on herself to get better.
Avatar f tn It got worse every year after her period started, so we finally put her on a oral contraceptive to help with her hormones. I also have her taking a natural remedy pill call primerose and some other vitamins we got from a natural medicine doctor. With PMDD it's important to make sure you get the right vitamins and take care of your self...exercise, mediate, get enough sleep. I hope you start to feel better and find something that works for you.
Avatar f tn Has anyone tried any vitamins for anxiety or panic attacks? Such as Niacin, Valerian vitamin b3, b12 or anything? I was reading up on some things.

3159640 tn?1430907300 Hello, anyone try Inositol for OCD and if so is there a recommended brand to purchase online?
Avatar f tn They can be helpful for many things, but I strongly believe exercise should be a natural process, not one pushed by supplements. That becomes unhealthy too much of the time as you move to more and more unnatural supplements that can work but aren't good for you because you aren't satisfied with the slow results that natural processes produce.
Avatar f tn Ever since I was really young I have been absoluately terrified of any sort of natural disaster; tornado, volcano, hurricaine, tsunami, earthquake. My fear centers around being left alone, I'm afraid a natural disaster will strike, killing or seperating me from everyone I love. I remember being a little kid and having panic attacks over it almost nightly.
Avatar f tn It seems to be a good natural option, since I am avoiding taking an SSRI, but SAM-e is very expensive ($20 for 30 pills!). Good option or not?
Avatar m tn A natural remedy that seems to help relatively quickly is 5HTP. It is a natural enzyme. My daughter uses between 50 to 100 mg a day.It seems to help her quite a bit.
Avatar f tn I was wondering if there was anything I could possibly take thats all natural for depression. I am 13 weeks pregnant. I'm suffering really bad from hormones, and very depressed. I do have a history of depression, I usually take Celexa, but I cannot take that while pregnant, and I am really not comfortable taking a prescription antidepressant while pregnant.
449236 tn?1220566714 Have you asked your doc about prescribing something different for OCD and panic? A couple that I know have worked for others and are not addictive are Luvox, Zoloft and Paxil. Buspar is also specifically for anxiety/panic and don't think it's considered a benzo, but not entirely certain about that. Talk to your doc about your addiction and ask him/her about taking the xanex and if it's right for you.
Avatar f tn ) or any of those types constipate me. I was hoping for a natural suggestion to talk with my doctor about. They are not very informed with natural treatments of things and said they would talk with another doctor and let me know what they want to try next. I figured since I am on here I might as well ask if you know of natural treatments for FM so that I have a list in case they don't!

1192727 tn?1282735542 I took Folic acid and even pre-natel vitamins for a while before I got pregnant to build up my vitamins. Also drinking water and making sure you are well hydrated helps.
Avatar f tn Does anybody have any suggestions on vitamins that I could get for DH? I'm going to wait a few more months before I make an appointment with an RE, but I feel there is something that we can be doing now to help increase our fertility. I'm currently taking pre-natals, but don't know if I should also be supplementing? Has anybody tried the FertilAid, with any success?
Avatar f tn Can anyone suggest any natural/vitamins for fertility? I am 43 and want to concieve naturally. I would appreciate your input and stories of success with natural methods. Thank you!
Avatar m tn I have OCD and have the weird sensitivity that you mentioned. Every time I touch or hear something that bothers me I have to make my hands into a fist and apply pressure to the tips of my fingers. I've had this problem all my life though- I've never done any drugs. I've been on Zoloft for depression/OCD and even if my OCD improves, the sensitivity always persists. I will say this though, the sensitivity bothers me a lot more when I'm more stressed.
Avatar m tn Hi there. I'm not the best person to answer this question. I have taken Prozac with success in the past. Currently I take a different drug. BUT I also take folic acid to counter the effects of methotrexate for RA and I don't feel it has had any effect on making my OCD worse. Honestly, over the counter medication I have not had much success with.
941766 tn?1257796601 Can anyone advise of good vitamins to take for anxiety and depression. I am starting to feel better and want to control by natural vitamins and exercise. Also has anyone tried 5-htp or any of the natural stuff? I can't take anti-depressants. I do take 1.5 mgs of Kolopin at bedtime which has finally started to help.
Avatar f tn Hi everyone! I'm looking for natural remedies like supplements and vitamins that are best for combatting it. I've heard saw palmetto and licorice helps, but I wanted to know what you ladies use personally and what works best. I have hirsutism, terrible acne and I am overweight. I also believe I am prediabetic, as my grandmother on my father's side had diabetes and my mother, so it runs in both sides of the family.

I feel that I dont really need them, but in some areas, like my mood swings, I still need something natural to help me. I was wondering if there any herbal supliments that you can use instead of all of the freaking medications.
1072551 tn?1258203266 I have been diagnosed with OCD and have gotten medical help for it and it has helped I would say 80% of my problem which makes life more enjoyable. My obsession is with Safety which sounds like you too. My cousin who also has OCD gets up several times a night to make sure her children are still breathing. Once her doc got her on meds that were right for her, it helped tremendously. She is still a very good concerned mother but enjoys life and is not overly ridiculously concerned.
9780765 tn?1405910914 m glad it did as it is a life saver for me. When I first started using the CPAP, I started to dream for the first time in a long while.. significant improvement. I also take provigil which has helped quite a bit for daytime sleepiness. I've also tried some night time natural sleep aides like: Dream Water and Averil and IChill. Dream water worked well for me, but is way too expensive.. pushing $100.00/month for an 'over the counter' remedy.
