Avatar f tn Keep taking prenatal vitamins that is what helps.
Avatar f tn Depending on how far along you are in your pregnancy will you notice a difference. The prenatal vitamins they say help with hair growth, however I believe its more hormonal changes within you. When you notice your hair growing you will also notice your nails growing faster than usual. I have been taking prenatal vitamins for only 3-4 wks... I would say its more hormonal changes than the vitamins, for myself atleast.
Avatar f tn Also they will increase the growth rate of your fingernails and skin cells. Many women who are not pregnant take prenatal vitamins to help with thinning hair, weak fingernails, or skin problems.

Avatar f tn I would just get it cut and buy some vitamins for hair growth! I think it take a couple of months for the vitamins to start working, but i've heard they help a lot and i'm sure it would make your hair healthier too! Hope everything goes well!
7136384 tn?1390142888 s because of your prenatal vitamins. They help hair and nail growth. And the idea about it being a boy because you have a lot of extra hair, could be true. Before I got pregnant I just had peach fuzz on my tummy and now it looks darker and longer, and I'm having a boy. But yet again, I shave my arm pits and legs a lot more than usual. Also your pubic hair will probably begin to grow so much you can't keep up with it.
Avatar f tn There is nothing in prenatal vitamins that encourage hair growth. That's a myth. This is a hormonal thing that differs from woman to woman in pregnancy. Just like some people are sicker than others.
Avatar f tn Have u tried the gummies?

455110 tn?1205964069 Here is a blurb on taking prenatal vitamins from Mayo Clinic that might help explain it more clearly: Prenatal vitamins are multivitamins intended for women who are pregnant or hope to become pregnant. Sometimes prenatal vitamins are recommended for women who are breast-feeding, too. Most prenatal vitamins contain more folic acid, iron and calcium than do standard adult multivitamins.
Avatar f tn The prenatal vitamins that you take daily are what's suppose to help with the hair length and nail growth.
Avatar f tn See the growth cycle of hair is in two phases, anagen or growth phase and telogen or resting phase. During telogen, the resting hair remains in the follicle until it is pushed out by growth of a new anagen hair. In telogen effluvium, a large number of hair enter telogen at one time. Avatar f tn Hello, I heard from a friend that folic acid helps with hair growth and strengthening nails. I started taking it a while ago after doing some research. I recently heard it also increases fertility? Is this true?? Just curious. Also does it cause any unwanted body hair growth? I am 20 so far from wanting a baby at this stage.
Avatar f tn Your hair needs vitamins and minerals to grow that it can only get from the bloodstream. So if you want to speed up your hair growth and thickness you should limit the intake of fat and salts. Selenium, zinc and magnesium are some of the minerals that your hair needs and also amino acids and vitamin E will help in growing hairs. You can regularly massage scalp with oil, use protein conditioner to avoid loss and help growing, prevent exposure in hot sun etc.
Avatar n tn This condition is usually self correcting and if stress levels are controlled, hair can return to natural growth cycles. You can read more about this through this link: (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Telogen_effluvium) The over-the-counter medication minoxidil promotes new hair growth and prevents further hair loss in a small percentage of people. However, if your condition persists, it would be best to see your doctor for further evaluation and management. Take care and keep us posted.
Avatar f tn I am a young female with PCOS. The initial complaint that I brought to my doctor was experiencing hair growth on my face, excess hair growth on my arms/legs/bikini, and hair loss on my head. I've since begun laser hair removal on my face and arms, but I am about 4 treatments in (24 wks) and am not noticing results. It is becoming more and more difficult to hold my head high- many days I don't even want to be seen in public.
Avatar f tn I'm 27 and experienced hair loss prior to pregnancy. Now that I'm pregnant I have a huge increase in hair fall. Are there any safe remedies to treat hair loss during pregnancy?
Avatar f tn Does anyone know how to tell the difference between NEW HAIR GROWTH and HAIR THAT HAS BROKEN OFF? I see a lot of little hairs sticking up, but I'm not sure if it is just breakage. I've been taking tons of vitamins and also I'm using Nioxin hair products for about 3 months.
