I am a 26 year old male that was recently diganosed with a male yeast infection. I received the yeast infection from my girlfriend. She told me several months back after we had sex she thought she might have a yeast infection. When she went to the doctor to check it out, she was told she indeed had a yeast infection and bacterial vaginosis or something that sounded like that. Some kind of bacteria infection in her vagina.
Now to my question.
Both came back negative for HSV 1 and 2. Then he gave me fluconazole for the yeast infection and it healed me. Then last year November (2013), I had similar symptoms on my penis gland and under the foreskin. I got fluconazole from the doctor for the yeast infection, but it did not go away completely (It healed and came back several times). Both times, doctor asked me to use an antibiotic cream (mupirocin/bactroban). I used it since Nov. 2013 to Feb. 2014.

No discharge no pain during urination, went to the local urgent care said it was urethritis. Prescibed me Erythromycin for a week and Mupirocin 2% fpr the irritation. Worked none so what ever, so I went get tested at week 5, neg for chlam, gono, trish, syphillus and hiv (of course) also, the urethral burn is gone from the antibiotics. I go back a week after testing he prescribes me 1 week of doxy. Didnt work so I went to the urologists, urine sample taken and penis seemed fine.
Was it actually a fungal infection or a yeast? It is not too uncommon to get a fungal infection too depending on your circumstances. Is the fungal infection resolved? If not you may need a antifungal too if you can tolerate it. What are you allergic to? Did you or do you have a fever? Sometimes they treat with an IV antibiotic. I think it is an allergic reaction to the antibiotics not necessarily that you are immunocompromised. Did they give you Mupirocin for two weeks or one week?
So the story begins about two weeks ago, I got a yeast infection and took care of it. About 2 days after the treatment was over I began to notice chafing in my groin area.I have gained a few pounds so I thought to myself it was normal, just eat healthy and go for a jog. That same day I shaved. Following day I notice a few bumps and the chafing is getting worse, but once again I thought to myself maybe its just razor bumps.
I think I may have cut myself while shaving and now the cut is infected. I am not sure though. I am unable to pop the blister/sore. It is near my bikini line. It is about the size of a pea and is white and flat. It hurts when touched or rubbed against. I don't know what to do. I recently have had a yeast infection. I also have a new sex partner. I am hoping it isn't herpes and just a cut that got infected from shaving. I have had it for about two weeks now and it has not changed at all.
Thanks for your reply. I got in touch with my doctor (I live in Canada. Free heath care) She told me that the bumps were pretty normal in teens and that I could be having a yest infection, or like you said a staph infection. She gave me a anti fungal cream and ant biotic fro the yeast infection because she wasn't completely sure what it could be yet. She took a urine sample for my uti also. So, I'll be getting results soon, in a day or two.

He suggested using antihistamine for few days to break the itch cycle. But all the tests including yeast have been negative. Also HIV has been conducted 30 days post exposure with a negative result so I can breathe and so is everything else negative.
I will give my body time to heal coz now it's only slight bit of external itch so leaf hope it will go away with timw or I will contact my doc again.

Hi, it is possible that you might have a yeast infection. I have had it and at times there are no other symptoms other than the itching. If the yeast becomes worse you might get little red bumps on the glans and foreskin.
It is best to get it checked by a doctor as it may be due to other causes as well. If it is yeast than Monistat or Canesten might work to clear things up.

I am still worrying even though i got the cream. There are 6 bumps and one of them is bigger than the others and it has white puss inside. I was wondering if it is a common skin condition?
I went to a urologist and he suggested that it is a yeast infection. During these ten days it has become soft red rash and has spreaded a bit and does not pain. I am still worried as it has not gone even after nearly two weeks. Despite of some medication that doctor has given me. I am going to see him again today.
