mri-scan

Avatar m tn Hi, I had a MRI scan a couple of days ago but no one has really explained to me what has happened, I will be reviewed by the spinal team as an outpatient. I have posted the results below and I would really appreciate if someone could explain in non medical terms what is happening. Here's some background info. I have had a recurring bad back for the past 10 years, but at the side of my back. Usually every six months for a couple of weeks at a time then back to normal.
Avatar f tn Does anybody know if an MRI scan couple show up everything a lumbar puncture would ??
1831846 tn?1318378596 on the 18th of this month, where I will be demanding an MRI and referral to a specialist. But the CT scan states no evidence of intracranial hemorrhage, ventricular system is normal in size and configuration, withough evidence of hydrocephalus. No discrete parenchymal masses nor evidence of mass effect. There is a slight inferior displacement of the cerebellar tonsils, suggesting a mild chiari 1 malformation. No extra-axial blood or fluid collections are identified.
5792451 tn?1390934690 I tested positive for Lyme disease in March and I've been on every different kind of antibiotic known to man and yet I don't seem to be getting better. My infectious disease doctor sent me for the brain scan to check for Multiple Sclerosis. I've already had a lumbar MRI which was normal other than adult scoliosis. My symptoms are all over the place. I have numbness, tingling, brain fog, vibrations, sore muscles, bone pain, neck pain and the worst headache imaginable.
Avatar n tn However there are more diagnostic tests than just the MRI to tell for sure if it is MS. Blood work, lumbar puncture, etc. The lumbar puncture and MRI being the two main tests. I will however, say that I've heard it said that most women in their third trimester of pregnancy do not have relapses at all. If you're worried about whether the diagnosis is not correct, always go for a second (or third) opinion.
Avatar n tn Mild spondylosis deformans throughout lumbar spine, particulary at L3-4 Annular disc bulge at L3-4 eccentric to the left, resulting in mildly asymmetric neural foraminal stenosis. There is borderline to mild lateral recess stenosis at this level The CT Scan of Pelvis and Abdomen read Congenital defromity of the lower lumbar spine, as well as unilateral pars defect at the L5 level.
Avatar n tn I had bike accident and after that 4 years ago I had spine surgery. now pain came back. I did mri scan. I got my results, but im not sure what doesnt mean. what i should shouldnt do.. ? if there is ant risc of next surgery? how bad is it? the results..: mri lumbar spine result findings: the vertebral bodies are normal hight, morphology and alignment. there are marked discogenic endplate changes noted at L5-S1.
Avatar f tn Apart from minimal straightening of the normal lumbar lordosis, the alignment is preserved and no fractures are demonstrated. The bony lumbar spinal canal is congenitally capacious. The patient was scanning from the level of L2 down to S1. At L2-3 through L4-5, no significant abnormalities are detected. At L5-S1 there is a small generalized disc bulge without significant neural element compromise. No significant facet joint arthropathies are noted.
700067 tn?1332989283 With the bowel issues I would suggest u get a full spine MRI...Cervical, thoracic and lumbar, the lumbar to check for a syrinx and tethered cord...the thoracic and cervical for a syrinx...and all 3 for disk issues.
Avatar f tn Hi could anyone please tell me what these mri scan results mean 3mm high T2 signal on the axial FLAIR in the left corona radiata with no restricted diffusion. Lumbar sacral spine shows early end plate changes. I'm waiting to see neurologist to discuss these results but would love a heads up. Thankyou.
Avatar n tn You need to get a bone scan or an MRI of your spine to find out what are those patches seen on the chest X-rays. To: eneffeneff: A facet Block is an injection of pain meds and steroids into the facet joint to relieve inflammation and pain. To: Teresa Cadena: Your report does not suggest any severe pinching our your nerves to account for your current symptoms. You may need to get nerve tests: EMG/NCS done.
Avatar f tn My first neuro whom i do not have much faith in organised Mri of brain and lumbar puncture plus various blood tests. He wrote some confusing stuff on his letter regarding my Mri, saying Mri shows scattered T2 hyperintensities in both cerebral hemispheres. There was a slight increase in these compared to her previous Mri scan. He then goes on to say.
Avatar m tn Over the past few years my symptoms have progressed. My first MRI scan that I had came back completely clear, and I was told to go back if they progressed, which they did. Since that scan I have had 2 more MRI's. The second MRI came up white white spots which was in January 2015, I was then sent for a lumbar puncture, but whatever they were looking for, it came back negative. I then had my most recent scan on 10th June 2016 and today received a letter with my results. The letter says.

Avatar f tn A non-contrast MRI scan of the lumbar spine was obtained. The L4-L5 level shows mild disc space narrowing, disc degeneration. In addition, there is a moderate extruded left central disc herniation with significant impingement of the left L5 nerve root in the lateral recess. The L5-S1 level shows minimal disc space narrowing, and disc degeneration. A tiny left central disc herniation abutting the left L5 nerve root is seen. There may be minimal nerve root impingement.
Avatar f tn I am awaiting diagnosis at the mo, but in suspected MS category as do have relapses but yet to show any lesions. They do MRI the lumbar for MS, spinal cord does go into that area, hence the lumbar puncture. I had my lumbar area checked.
Avatar f tn Hi, for the past 3 months I have experienced very mild tingling in my right nostril, and sometimes in my right hand. I did an MRI and one single brain lesion showed up. I then did a CT scan of my torso which showed my chest lymph nodes are inflamed. Spine MRI clear, all blood tests clear. Lumbar puncture clear. No one is able to tell me is wrong with me!! Has anyone ever had anything similar? I am female in my mid-30s. Thank you.

Avatar f tn Why are some people diagnoised without a lumbar puncture? I was diagnoised by MRI of brain and spine and visual evoked potential. VEP was abnormal ant brain had lesions mainly in the mid brain and one lesion on spine. Just curious! ?
