Many tests and procedures later and her vet diagnosed her with inflammatory bowel disease and put her on Metronidazole and prescribed cat foods with duck, rabbit and deer. Well, both of my cats reaction to the new food was to try to bury it. The Metronidazole made Pixel sick and she stopped eating and her weight fell to under six pounds and the vet then put her on steroids. During this time I bought brand after brand of cat food, hoping to get her to eat anything.
My dog was throwing up (looked like human food- I hve no idea where he got it from) and having diarrhea. The vet gave him amforol among penicillin and steroid injection. We took x-rays and the vet said he had imflammatory bowel disease. Since then he's stopped vomitting but still having diarrhea. Now he's on metronidazole. I've read around that metro will help only temporary and that it could cause liver damage.
Has anyone had this problem and will metronidazole fix his problem?
Our vet recommended switching their food to Hills IB prescription food and the stools have all been firm and fine since.
Until today. Ricky has been on Metoclopramide for a week, and has not vomited. Until today. And for two months, the dogs' stools have been fine, until today, when one of them looks greasy again (not Ricky's).
We don't know what else to try. Just when we think the dogs are not vomiting (several days or a week with no vomit) somebody throws up.

But i need answers for if I'm able to masturbate while taking metronidazole pills and does anyone know if BV odor goes away after taking metronidazole cause i’m still dealing with the odor while taking the pills
The vet has now said to keep her on all of the meds except Galliprant and to come in for an anti-nausea as her belly might be upset from the antibiotic causing her to not want to eat. Has anyone had any experience with Galliprant and/or Metronidazole? Taking them at the same time?
I have posted about my 10 year old dog (Nestle) who passed on Tuesday. And I am wondering 2 things.
Firstly....I had 3 dogs (mixed shep (Nestle) (who died the other day), a 2 year old pomeranian(Wubbzy) and a 6 year old min pin (Molly). For some reason (Wubbzy) would always eat Nestles poo but never ever ate my Molly's poo. I am wondering why that is. I thought vitamin deficiency, so I got Wubbzy some different food and slowly changed it. But Wubbzy still ate my Nestle's poo.
She is a picky eater in general so it was hard to even to get her to eat the rice or the chicken. She went 5 whole days of protesting and NOT eating her food. So I gave her the high fatty puppy food my other pup was eating and slowly transitioned her back to her own senior food once she was a little better.
Sounds like hemorrhoids try a stool softener like Colace and make sure you are drinking enough water to keep your stool softer and avoid straining. Also, try to increase your fiber intake with food ie high fiber vegetables and some whole grain cereals or whole wheat bread. Maybe something like fibercon tonalso help bulk up and soften your stool.
Also you could see a gastroenterologist to see if the tear needs to be surgically repaired.
He also started the temp spike, lethargy, off food and bloody diarrhea - but when put on Metronidazole would clear up for about a month or so. I brought the 2 kittens in the house after the mom died. We then found a 4 week old kitten about 4 months later. He was kept in the barn. Doing great. But we decided to keep him and brought him into the house. Had him wormed with drontal etc. Well this new kitten started showing the bloody diarrhea, temp & lethargy.
I visited the doctor Monday with a vaginal infection and was given Metronidazole to start taking. I went back for results Wednesday and I was confirmed to have BV. My doctor then gave me Erythromycin to take (2, twice a day)... as well as the Metronidazole (3, three times a day). This seems like an awful lot of antibiotics. Why was I given Erythromycin, when from as far as I can tell, Metronidazole alone is the recommended treatment for BV?

at first i didnt bother it but after my medication in soar throat and allergy(urcatitaria), my vagina started to became itchy and again, everyday i started having green discharged for `1 week. i went to a gynecologist and she prescribed me a metronidazole miconazole vaginal suppository and ive used that for `1 week.. now what my problem is, my white discharge had stop.. i am also currently taking up medice for my UTI and had experiexed sex but that was like long time ago...
Metronidazole can cause diarrhea as a side effect. But it may be also working on the infective cause of your dog's illness in the first place, so don't stop it without speaking to your vet.
Meanwhile keep your dog hydrated. If you can find an unflavoured electrolyte drink like Pedialyte that would be great. Plain water would do for a short time but Pedialyte would be better.
I was prescribed it last week for a bacterial infection. Took it 4 times and my face started to break out in a rash. Called the pharmacist and then the doctor. Both said i was having an allergic reaction to the medicine. Both said to stop taking it. I go to the doctor next week to ddiscuss other options. So just watch out for that.....
My heart beat is erratic most of the time anyway but when I tried taking flagyl for campylobacter, it didn't affect my heart at all. I just got extremely sick and intestinal issues worsened. They had to switch me.
For the past ten days I have been taking Metronidazole (Two 250mg oral tablets, twice daily).
I took my last pills lastnight around 10:30 pm.
My question is, would it be okay for me to consume alcohol on Saturday night?
I know my pharmacist told me to absolutely stay away from alcohol while I was taking the pills because I would vomit alot, and he said most people wait a couple of days after they've finished before they drink. Im just wondering if two days is enough time?
I went to the obgyn last week they ran urine samples and std tests and everything was okay, I told them I’m spotting still for two weeks now three and cramping the test came back for BV so they prescribed me Metronidazole I felt way too anxious about taking it , Friday I went in for a ultrasound and pelvic ultrasound I believe and got the results today that it was fine. They now prescribed me clindamycin gel which I will pick up tomorrow due to pharmacy out of stock.
Hi my name is jennifer I been taking antibiotics for the past 2 weeks, Omeprazole 20 mg, Metronidazole 500 mg and Clarithromycin 500 mg and also I been taking my birth control pills for the past 3 weeks (Jolivette).
I jus found out today I am pregnant. I'm concer with the health of the unborn baby. I am worry if the any possibility of births defects and any other problem related to the medications.
