Hello-my first time to this wonderful site! My husband and I just started trying this month for our 2nd child. I was gone for 2 wks, but had unprotected sex both before and after I returned. I totally expected to have my period since I was gone for so long. I had just gotten off the pill before having my last period. So, I started having very bad menstrual cramps and "shocks" in my breasts 3 days ago. I kept running to the bathroom thinking I was going to start. Nothing.
im 4 weeks pregnant and im experiencing stomach cramps. is this normal. i have not had any bleeding.

Hey girls for the past hour I have been having uncomfortable menstrual cramps and a little back pain. I'm kinda sweating due to the cramps. My stomach got tight about two times. Is this normal or Shud I go to the hospital?

Is having cramps all the time normal in the 1st trimester? I'm not having any bleeding but my stomach bothers me most of the day.
I have this problem all the time where I get severe cramps in my lower abdomen like menstrual cramps but its cuz I haven't been able to go for a few days. Try a warm bath and maybe track bm to make sure they r regular. I know it sounds goofy but I ended up in er a few years back cuz it was so bad. Drink lots of water but still go see dr. Cramping is normal during pregnancy tho. Most of it is your body just stretching out from a growing uterus.
I am 7 weeks today and I hope I am worrying for nothing but I don't go to Dr until monday. I have had cramps for 5 days now on and off all day long. No bleeding and it's in my lower stomach is this normal?
It can be, yes. Your uterus is growing and expanding as the baby grows larger. This is going to put pressure on your entire lower portion of your body. Sometimes though these cramps can actually be contractions and as you're too early for baby to come this would be dangerous. Does it feel like a squeezing pain at all, or just normal menstrual cramps. For reassurance, you can also phone L&D or your doctor and explain the pain to them and see what they say about it.
I'm only 5 weeks but I have been getting horrible cramps in my lower stomach almost like menstrual cramps and they hurt worse than regular menstrual cramps. Is this normal? I'm also having mild backaches and headaches but i don't know if taking tylenol everyday is a good thing. An suggestions?
I feel them all over my stomach, not only my lower abdomen. Actually I am not even sure if they are cramps, but more like twinges or short, sharp pains that last a couple of seconds. I have never experienced cramps before my period before but I always know when my AF is coming because I feel SOMETHING in my lower abdomen. I have that feeling again, but it's weird because I just got off the birth control pill last month. Last year I got off the BC pill and didn't have my period for 9 months.

It's normal to feel menstrual-like cramps while you are pregnant. I'm 27 weeks and just the other day I thought "I'm getting my period" and then remembered I'm pregnant. Haha. If your cramps are strong and painful, however, you should call your docotor. But mild cramping, I get it all the time. As you get farther along and your uterus and abs and everything starts stretching and growing in there, you'll probably feel "cramps" more.
On May 13 i thought that i was having my period, it was a bit lighter and my cramps were a little more intense. i took a hpt today (may 18)and it was negative but i still have cramps, both in my abdominal and stomach area...is there any explanation for these cramps?
It started out as a mild case of gastroenteritis (diarhhea and bad cramping in my general abdominal region and down my legs to my toes - similar to the feelings of menstrual cramps). I wasn't getting better so my college health services nurse suggested a lot of stool samples to do tests. C-Diff came back negative, as did many other things, but I am still sick. About 5 days ago, I started passing only mucus during some of my bowel movements. Other times, I would pass normal, soft stool.
First I thought I was pregnant but home test came back negative three times and now i have no idea what is wrong with me. The pain feels like the worst menstrual cramps you could ever imagine. Makes giving birth look like nothing. The cramps come and go. I also have nausea and diarrhea. I have also noticed my stomach tightening when the pain gets really bad. I have had a colonoscopy already to rule anything from that out.
For the past 5 months, I've been having intense pain in my lower back/lower right quadrant of my stomach. It should be noted that whenever I'd have menstrual cramps, these are the same types of pains I'd have. Except the pains became constant...everyday versus just around my period. They're so intense and achy, that it takes Vicodin for me to be able to handle the pain. Vicodin!
I haven't had any problems until 6 months ago. It started with tolerable stomach cramps that lasted 1 week. These cramps were in the stomach just below the sternum. After this episode, for about a month, I had the sensation of a "ball" in the stomach -- even when I hadn't eaten for many hours, I still felt full. This was accompanied by back pain and abdominal discomfort. A blood test revealed the presence of H-Pylori. I took antibiotics for this, and experienced some relief.
I'm 35 weeks pregnant with my first and currently experiencing terrible menstrual like cramps in my lower abdomen. It started the other day at work so I thought it was just me running around too much and once I sat down and relaxed they subsided. Just now while getting something to eat I got some of the worst ones yet and again once I sit down I feel better. My stomach gets very tight and I have to stop whatever I'm doing. I can't tell if they are contractions or just the baby sitting weird.
I have bad menstrual cramps every month, and I also have a plentiful supply of Bentyl in my house. I know Bentyl is intended to be used for stomach problems like diverticulosis, but someone told me that I *might* be able to take it for menstrual cramps. Can anyone (hopefully a doctor) shed some light on this?
Is your stomach getting hard when you are having these cramps? If so and the cramps are increasing in intensity and frequency, def worth a call to your doc. You are getting closer every day, so I'd def pay close attention. Good luck!!! You are almost there!!!
I didn't want the birth control to stop me in any way, if that makes sense. So, I stopped getting my shot in June and ever since then, I've had some really bad menstrual experiences. I always had a heavy period. On average, I come on every 23 days and last about 7 days. Bad cramps have always been with me but since I stopped the birth control, I can't stand up sometimes because of pain.
What happens is I start feeling sick to my stomach and I get a cold sweat. Then I feel lightheaded and dizzy and very weak. Then the nausea gets worse and sometimes I vomit. Then I feel like I can't open my eyes and I feel like I'm going to black out (sometimes I do). I'll lay down usually because I feel too weak to sit up. A lot of the time I start to cry and curl into a ball because I can't stand the stomach pain.
no sore breasts, too much fatigue, headaches, cramps ( like menstrual cramps) and bloated tummy. What does it mean? well, i knw abt the pregnancy home tests....which i would b doing in a couple of days.
I just wanted to add that I had exactly the same thing so I want to give some advice to others. I am in long term relationship, we were not really ttc but didn't mind if it happened. I haven't been on the contraceptive pill for 3 years, as it didn't agree with me. My last menstrual cycle was July 16 and I was late for my August period. I am very regular, and as we had mad love quite a lot this month, I thought I might be pregnant.
I would normally take naproxen for the cramps but since my stomach is.not well... They are very harsh on the stomach lining and was told not to take them. I called the pharmacist and he told me to take tylenol. I had to take quite a lot for 2 days. I would try the prilosec or something over the counter and see if it helps. Prilosec, zantac, pepcid.
yes, really bad ones, and my stomach always seems to go really tight then eases up,but the cramps are still there.I find there least painfull when im sat upright in a chair. Most of my friends who had children say they had the cramps,so i think its normal, just your body getting ready,if your really worried ring your doctor just to put your mind at ease, they may ask you to go in just to check, but i think its ok.
