1601869 tn?1441310748 hello im wondering the best kind of birth control to get on while im breastfeeding. i am on the mini pill but have been getting extremely sick on it. i hate the thought of an IUD but thinking about it :( that or im looking into getting my tubes tied or blocked.... any ideas 23 and wanting 1000% NO more babies! i have 2 beautiful boys ( 2 and 7 weeks) and 7 babies with wings. so an tips would be great. if i can't find anything that works i and my husband will be getting fixed.
Avatar f tn Personally from my experience with the iud I had no complications and I never got my menstrual cycle while being on it too! Once I decided to take the iud out I was pregnant within the month which normally never happens to people. The average person to get pregnant after the iud gets removed is approximately 2 or 3 months afterwards according to the doctor. However, everyone is different. Just something for you ladies to think about!
Avatar f tn ve never been diagnosed so I tried birth control to help the cramps as my Gyno said it would. However, I put on 30 lbs in two months, was exhausted all the time, had constant muscle cramps as well as excruciating menstrual cramps but my Gyno said it was nothing. I then started to have migraines, which disabled me to the point of being able to do nothing except sleep for days. After jumping around from gyno to gyno, my mom figured I should go to an endocrinologist.

Sometimes gynecologists will put people on low-dose birth control to alleviate severe dysmenorrhea. I didn't try that myself, but I heard it works well for a lot of women. When I was 16, my cramps were exactly the same as yours. I would miss 2 days of school each month without fail because I had vomiting because of the pain.
Avatar f tn There are several reasons why you might experience a missed period while on birth control pill. There are few birth control pills which may stop your menses for a particular period. Pregnancy is also possible cause of missed periods if you have not been taking pills regularly have been affected by diarrhea, vomiting which may affect the absorption and efficacy of pills.
Avatar n tn Started on birth control pills 5 months ago simply to try and regulate my periods and lessen the severity of bleeding. First I was on Levlen which worked fine for about 3 months, even managed to skip a period successfully. Then started to get breakthrough bleeding half way through cycle which was continuous for 3 weeks but some days worse than others. Went back to GP who changed me to Brevicon which is a stronger pill.
Avatar n tn cramping on both sides is normal but cramping on one side is normal also. Cramping on one side is usually due to a cyst on that ovary. It will also cause chronic pain and excessive bleeding. No worries tell your doctor and they will just prescribe you birth control to regulate it or if your like me and can't take birth control they may just issue you a strong pain reliever.
Avatar f tn if you do it on graph paper with each menstrual month on one line, it comes out like a bar chart after a while to show you the normal lengths of your bleeding, when you ovulate, and when you have vaginal secretions of other kinds. That can be useful for projecting forward to see when your next period will probably come, and things like that. Going on the pill can change the quantity of discharge, but it does not always do so.
Avatar f tn I started having severe menstrual cramps and heavy bleeding after my second time having a period (at 11 yro). The heavy bleeding was caused by anemia, had to go on iron supplements which immediately helped. For the pain, I had to take birth control pills (though I wasn't sexually active). This helped for about 4 years, then the painful cramps came back but were not so severe. Everyone is different obviously, so I would suggest going to gynecologist.
Avatar m tn hi. i have horrible, horrible menstrual cramps. because i also get very bad headaches, i do not tolerate the birth control pill. i don't know what to do. neither do my gynecologists. i have tried all of the main anti-inflammatories and even narcotics, but nothing seems to work. there is nothing wrong with my reproductive system or anything, i just get horrible, horrible cramps.
Avatar f tn Hi Kay, Here is something you may find intresting Tri-Sprintec contains female hormones and therefore alters your female gynecological symptoms. Tri-Sprintec typically causes nausea, bloating, stomach cramps, breast pain, vaginal discharge, menstrual irregularities and changes in your appetite and weight. Tri-Sprintec can affect your appearance and cause increased hair growth, loss of hair or freckling of your skin. It can cause nervousness, a headache and fatigue.
360318 tn?1340393363 So my question is should I get on birth control? How will this effect the way I act and the way I feel? I have heard bad stories about the pill, and that it makes you really cranky, and I am already cranky once I ovulate, and I am worried my boyfriend will leave me if I am more cranky, because he has threatened to leave a few times when I had ovulated and had been cranky.
Avatar f tn I would also assume that it is a stronger birth control in a way because, unlike the pill, it stops your menstrual cycle completely until you come off of it. And even then your period will not be normal for a little while. Does anxiety run in your family? Or have you experienced anxiety before this particular incident?
5025679 tn?1363541501 I had severe endometriosis, and while I had an abnormal endometrial biopsy one time (abnormal proliferative), I am thankful to God I did not have cancer, though the gyn tried to push birth control pills on me after that, indicating abonormal proliferative was stage one of steps that could lead to cancer. I wouldn't take the pills because of potential serious side effects of birth control pills as well as my migraine situation.
1539436 tn?1292869871 As you get older your body will change. I use to be regular, and now I I'm anywhere from 27-33 days apart. As far as discomfort, some times you will have it, and sometimes you won't. Like this month, I had NO cramps. Last month I did. Birth control can regulate your periods. When I'm on it it usually comes like clock work. So YES it's normal.
Avatar n tn I too have had spotting recently which has never happened before. I actually though I was starting my period and It stopped. I am wondering why I got this. I still haven't got my period yet and it's been a week since the spotting. I'm not on birth control nor have I been for a while. I did take a pregenancy test 1 week before the spotting due to cramps and it was negative. Is this normal?
Avatar f tn Hello! I'm a 22 year-old female. My sister is diagnosed with PCOS, and I was just thinking about some symptoms/issues that I have and realized they match up with some of hers. I know that someone with PCOS is more likely to have a mom or sister with it as well.
1395422 tn?1308016251 I have had my period since I was 9 and have had to miss 1 day of school or work every month since. It is almost unbearable. I was on birth control at one point that seemed to calm it down but also made me gain weight so I stopped. If anyone else has this problem and knows a solution PLEASE let me know. I have never been to a doctor for this.
Avatar f tn ok i started my menstrual today so tomorrow SUNDAY i start my birth control pills am i correct?
6422064 tn?1381160165 Before that I use to take beyaz for about 5 months..my dr. Wanted me to try a new birth control so he put me on Loestrin fe. I was good taking pills regularly but soon I started to forget and would miss 2 days here and there and would double up. I dI'd not use a back up method because I figured I had difficulty getting pregnant anyway, and most condoms irritate my skin. I was on bc because to help control my cyst.
