2187580 tn?1338053554 You should have your period about once every 28 days (or slightly shorter/longer) lasting no longer than 7 days. You may need to look into taking some birth control pills to help regulate your period so something like this doesn't happen, but if this is the only time it has, your doctor may decide to have you track it.
937837 tn?1285350385 I thought after you got ones levels into range the menstrual cycle was supposed to normalize. I have had about 3 50 day cycles since I was diagnosed and started meds. Before my cycles were 37, 49, 34, stopped taking birth control in mid October. Was just wondering if anyone knows if this is normal for a women with hypothyroidism?
Avatar f tn Assuming that you're fairly regular in your cycles, that the pregnancy came from your unprotected sex (it's possible to conceive on birth control like I did) and that you haven't had a menstrual cycle yet, you'd be considered about 10 weeks pregnant (2 weeks preconception, and then 8 weeks from the time you conceived is how they measure it). You'd be two and a half months pregnant.
Avatar f tn I am facing issues in menstrual cycle since last 6 months, It comes delays, I have a boy friend we did not sex yet I am facing issues my menstrual cycle delays for 6 to 8 days every month I am worried, what should I do.
Avatar f tn No Im not on any type of birth control. I really dont know how long my cycles are because they are irregular (I have PCOS) I looked at an online calculator and it said my cycle was 34-35 days.
Avatar f tn It's also normal because liquids are naturally present that are secreted by the vaginal walls in the course of the day. Their purpose is to naturally cleanse the vagina. It doesn't necessarily mean you were aroused, it's just like your mouth naturally being moist.
1722885 tn?1309474656 s appointment with your Gynecologist to find out what is going on and they can put you on the birth control pill or something else to kick start your period and get that going. Hope it goes well.
Avatar f tn I used emergency birth control pills Contraceptive HD (OVOCEPT - HD). I used 2 pills within 24 hours after sex and 12 hours later used 2 pills again. I wanted to know when I will become period? and in emergency way that is just this 2 times? I am really worried please answer me.
Avatar n tn Is there chances of getting pregnant while drinking the placebo week and not being on your period? This is my first month on birth control, and I took all my active pills throughout the month, even during my menstrual cycle. Now I'm at the end of the pack on the placebos, but I'm not on my cycle. We decided to have unprotected sex, but I wanted to make sure what the possibilities cab be.
Avatar n tn I say this because a few years ago my periods started getting farther and farther apart, and it turned out my hormone levels were out of whack so the gynecologist put me on birth control pills to fix the problem.
Avatar m tn I use to have horrible bleeding when I was younger as well. My Dr. put me on birth control pills to help with the blood flow and the back aches that came with it. It really worked for me! I also was very active and not obese at all. I would just ask your Dr. next time if there is anything that he would recommend to help you out with this problem.
Avatar f tn I am ment to be expecting my periods this coming weekend I am taking birth control but have missed quite a couple of pills due to forgetting. Whats going on? Help me!
Avatar f tn I stopped taking my birth control 14 months ago and didn't wait til my cycle was over, I still had half of my pills left. Two days after I stopped I had the biggest most horrible period of my life, and it had only been a week since I had been on my period.my question is, since I didn't wait until I was done with my pills did it wack my hormones out so much that its making it hard to conceive?
Avatar f tn I would also assume that it is a stronger birth control in a way because, unlike the pill, it stops your menstrual cycle completely until you come off of it. And even then your period will not be normal for a little while. Does anxiety run in your family? Or have you experienced anxiety before this particular incident?
Avatar f tn It is recommended that someone starting on the "birth control pill" waits 2 full menstrual cycles before relying solely on it for birth control. Condoms are encouraged until completion of the second cycle. And remember that the "pill" isn't 100% effective, only 98% and doesn't provide any protection against STD's. Also when taking any antibiotics with the pill, it lowers the effectiveness and so does having diarrhea or vomiting as it is not absorbed in the system.
Avatar n tn Stress, a lot of sexual activity, or a lot of regular physical activity can delay it. Starting a new medication or birth control can also delay it. Sometimes it just becomes irregular. For me, having an abnormal period has always been normal. I think it came like clockwork for maybe 6 months out of the 20 years I've had it.
Avatar n tn You could have fertility problems and the quicker you get it checked the quicker you will find out what is normal for you. If there is nothing wrong then getting on birth control will not only help with your bleeding but will regulate you and allow you to plan around your period easier. Good luck to you.
Avatar f tn What birth control products are you ladies considering after delivering (if you're considering)
Avatar f tn I have tried multiple types of birth control (combined hormones and progesterone only) and always have breakthrough bleeding that is just as heavy as my period. Last time I was on birth control, I bled for 22 days straight. Blood tests come back normal. no thyroid issues. hormone levels are normal. ultrasound (abdominal and transvaginal) came back normal; a minor ovarian cyst was noted but considered not to be of concern.
Avatar f tn But if it shows up negative it is likely that your body has to adjust to you coming off the pill. Keep a diary of your menstrual cycle for the next couple of cycles to see what happens. If there is no change then see your doctor with your menstrual cycle chart so that he can check out your hormone levels. It could be stress related, but also if you are anaemic that too can mess up your cycle. With anaemia you can get very heavy periods, or periods will cease.
Avatar f tn Please get yourself to your PCP, get a pap smear done, and discuss birth control pills or another form of birth control.
Avatar n tn I took planb twice in one month and mine menstrual cycle was off for a couple of months and just fyi planb is just 4 birth control pills in one so if u have birth control pills just take 4 lol my old gyno doc told me that
Avatar f tn I'm a 31 year old mother of 4 boys ages 13 11 8 & 3. My menstrual cycle has never been the typical "28 day cycle". Even birth control made it worse at times. I decided last year in October to get off birth control because I didn't like the effects it had on my body. Once off the birth control I didn't have a menstrual cycle until March. Since then my cycle has lasted for two weeks at a time sometimes more. This month I've been on it for 30 days. And heavy!
