Do contractions ever feel like period cramps? I've been having cramps and low back pain off and on all day could it be small contractions?

Im only 22wks so I read I should begin to feel Braxton hicks soon. What is the difference? I always hear menstrual cramps, but those are just like a dull belly or back ache. So please give me your best description of both Braxton hicks and actual labor contractions!

ll be kind of like cramping. I know for me it starts in my back and.in my lower abdomen (like menstrual cramps in my lower abdomen) and move up through my whole stomach. I can't walk or talk or hardly breath, and while the menstrual like cramps make stay the.other stuff will come and go.

The pain is either at the top of my uterus, right at the top of the bump and sometimes shoots around the bump or menstrual like cramps. It happened a bunch of times at work today. I assume it's Braxton Hicks but they are painful. . Maybe contractions?

It might be early labor. I have read where premature labor can feel like menstrual cramps. It could also be Braxton hicks but Im not sure. If you have more than 4 cramps an hour, you should call your OB ASAP. That is what the OB nurse told me on Friday when I was having contractions showing on the monitor, although I didn't feel them.

Friday my doctor told me that I am 2 cm dilated and "pretty soft" and then went on to explain that if my water broke or if I had 4 or more contractions in an hour to head on into the ER.
