Infection would be due to any other normal process of infection, a break in the skin allowing bacteria to grow. It should heal in a week or so depending on how big the injury is.

I was using a medicated chapstick and I'm assuming it made my lips worse and spread the infection across my bottom lip. They are white little blisters with reddish marks in middle. It's the first time that something like this has happened to me. I would love to see a doctor but I'm fairly new in my province, and I haven't found a family doctor yet. Any suggestions of what it could be would be greatly appreciated.
I have a small blood blister on my upper lip. Its no bigger than the tip of a pencil. I lance it about once a month to see if it will subside and and not come back. On every occasion it returns. Is there anything i can do to the "Lip Abomination" that protrudes from my face?
It is not recommended to break a blister because it may often lead to infection. If the symptoms worsen or persist then please consult a dermatologist. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.

They said to just keep watching it, they didnt think it was herpes the last couple of days it seems to be worse and when i wake up in the morning my lips are stuck together ecause of the clear fluid that leaks from the blister. It is so big it takes up on half of my upper lip on the inside of it. Is there anything I can do for relief?
I noticed a small single blister like bump in my upper lip actually on the part that connects the lip to the gums. It did look like a waterfilled blister. After messing with it for a while with my tongue subconciously it did seem to go away within a few hours. There was no pain whatsoever and no noticable redness. I thought maybe a mucoclele until i read that they are usually only on the bottom lip and rarely the top.
If the lesion on your lip is herpes, it will only be transmitted from your lip. There is no reason to worry about herpes transmission from sex if your lip is where the lesion is. My guess however is that it is not herpes.

Hello, Blood blister is a type of blister that forms when subdermal tissues and blood vessels are damaged without piercing the skin.Give rest to the part, apply cold compresses, soak the blister in Epsom sale and keep a check on the child so as to avoid its rupture. If the blister breaks, quickly rinse the area and apply an antiseptic such as neosporin. It is not recommended to break a blister because it may often lead to infection.
Cold sores usually appear as clusters of tiny blisters on the lip. Most people are first infected with HSV-1 before they are 10 years old. After this first infection, the virus remains dormant (inactive) in the nerves of the face. In some people, the virus becomes active again from time to time. When this happens, cold sores appear. HSV-1 can get active again because of a cold or fever.
Hello I had an unprotected oral sex with a csw last night, next day morning I had burning sensation in my lower lip and now I see there is a small blister in the middle of my lower lip. Does herpes blister show up in less than 24 hrs?
I have ONE vaginal "blister" on my upper vaginal skin fold. Ive been faithfully sexual with my husband for 3 years now. There is only one, and it's not that painful. It is painful to touch and if urine gets on it as well. I've only had it for about 2 days and have never had anything like it before. It's skin color just a little red, and hard to see just looking. It doesnt look like a zit or pimple, it's kinda like an ulcer looking thing i guess.
The unbroken skin over a blister provides a natural barrier to infection. This means that you should try to keep blisters intact and unbroken in order to avoid infection. Try not to pierce a blister with a needle, but allow it to break on its own once the skin underneath has healed. Let us know if you need any further information. Regards.
I too had a blister on my lip while having severally dry lips! I have never had a cold sore, but I did pop mine, not knowing that it was a blister because all I saw was dry skin, mine hurt to be touched though, but it was not red anywhere around, and didn't scab yellow like most cold sores typically do. Did you ever find out what it was??
