1758222 tn?1312816600 i work in the sun all day everyday, my lip got a blister on it, so i tried chapstick, then my whole lip got blisted, i thought i was alergic, but it is just the bottom lip, it is very painful and will not get better on its own, i went to the er they said maybe it was some sort of staph infection, they gave me acyclovir antibiotics and mupirocin cream, but the cream burns to badly to apply ... please help!!
Avatar n tn I have a small red, sometimes raw, blister in the middle of my upper lip, except for some initially burning (when it was at its most irated state) it does not hurt and does not itch. As a was of background, I remember having what appeared to be a very small cut in the middle of my upper lip a few months ago. I was thinking it may have been from shaving and it seemed to scab over then go away, then open again. I would apply chapstick or some other lip protection and that seemed to help.
Avatar f tn I about a couple days ago after being outside in the hot weather, the next day I relized that I had a couple blister like bumbs on my lower lip. I thought it had something to do with being out in the sun. After I noticed them I could leaved them alone so i tried to pop them thinking if I did that they would go away. well it didn't clear liquide came out and they became sore like, so i started useing salt water cause it seemed to help but its still looks like a sore on my lip.
Avatar f tn Greetings everyone, Late last week I noticed I had a small blister on my bottom lip that was somewhat painful. I thought that after a couple days that it would heal itself but now it has actually gotten worse. I've developed other smaller blisters around my bottom lip and it seems that the infection has spread. I was using a medicated chapstick and I'm assuming it made my lips worse and spread the infection across my bottom lip. They are white little blisters with reddish marks in middle.
745313 tn?1323145898 He gets frequent mouth sores, but we got the Biotene (thanks for suggesting that!!) and it seems to help, problem is he's been getting a line of sore spots along his top lip. Not blistery sores like canker sores or fever blisters, just very small, VERY angry red spots that are very sore. Is this something anyone else has dealt with? And if so, HOW did you deal with it?
Avatar m tn Before I even start describing the issue it should be noted I had a sample taken directly from my lip by a doctor and the HSV test came back negative. Also I had a blood test for STDs and everything came back negative. These problems started happening over a year ago. It may be a coincidence but I smoked cigarettes for about a month during the previous year, and I drank very heavily during the year previous to noticing these issues.
Avatar n tn org/wiki/Chapped_lips I would also try and cut back on the usage of chapstick just because, just from my own personal experience, when I use my chapstick too often i end up with more of a chapped lip if i forget my chapstick at home or i just don't have it with me. As for an allergic reaction to burt's bees, some people have very sensitive skin/lips and are irritated (not allergic) to the peppermint in the chapstick.
Avatar n tn Thank you for your time. I am a 26 year old male. I have a clean bill of medical health aside from diabetes. Excellent skin, except for the right corner of my lip seems to stay "chapped" all the time. I have looked at images of a fever blister and it is definitely NOT a fever blister. It's like the skin peels outward in small little "shingles" as it would with chapped lips on the main part of the lip.
Avatar n tn 4 days ago I pinched my lip and and a round blister with a scab in the middle came up. I pinched it again and tried to pull the scab off. Now my lower lip only is swolen more than ever 3 to 4 days later. I have the fatest lower lip ever. Very painful and lips are getting red around the edge due to swelling. Is this viral or bacterial or both. Is this herpies? There is considerable yellow thick puss inside but docs have told me not to touch it. Going to better hospital tomorrow.
Avatar n tn He said that if I didn't use Abreva right away, it could blister and that I was lucky it did not. If you have this dry spot on your lip that feels like a piece of tape is stuck to it, go to your local drugstore right away and get some Abreva. Good luck.
Avatar m tn it was dead center but more on the bottom of the lip if you want to say. it was resting on my bottom lip but it was on my upper lip, lets put it that way. just one bubble. i think it was clear or white liquid or a combo. clearish white maybe... no blood involved. kind of looked like a burn blister. I say I think it was clearish white because I immediately popped it when I realized it was there. . actually i just scrapped my teeth across it and it was gone. one swipe with my front two teeth.
Avatar f tn On the bottom right hand side of my lip I have what looks like 3 tiny little blisters. My lip is swollen but it is hard. There is no itching or burning and it doesn't hurt. It is not sensitive at all. I haven't had a fever blister or cold sore in over 20 years not to mention it doesn't even look like a fever blister.
Avatar m tn I now have three of them, one slightly bigger than the other two. I've been putting everything (from Abriva to lip balms to someone suggested honey)on it, to make it go away but nothing has helped. My upper lip looks very dry and you can not see the patches, but as soon as I put lip balm they turn pink and slightly raised. I have no idea what it is. I am going to see the doctor again on August 16th, hopefully she'll know what it is. Does anyone have any answers?
Avatar n tn I've had oral herpes for a while, and 2 weeks ago I felt the start of a blister, so I took valtrex pills and it subsided. But shortly after that I kissed my dog's nose(I always do) and a dozen red bumps appeared on my upper lip. I applied acyclovir ointment and they subsided, but since then my upper lip has been incredibly itchy and burning, with a strange chapped quality similar what normally happens when I apply H-bomb ointment to my lips (small, itchy, rough dots), which I haven't done.
Avatar f tn It all started when I was around 15 when I got a real bad allergic reaction to chapstick, my lips became the size of sausages and this yellow liquid would seep through. Through lots and lots of experimentation, I found out I am allergic to almost every brand of lip balm including Burt's Bees, Carmex, Blistex, etc. After that happened all hell just broke loose, my lips began getting tiny tiny red bumps which also had this yellow liquid seeping out.
Avatar n tn I have been taking claritin for 2 years, and it seems hit and miss. If I so much as kiss my husband I may get a rash from his lip balm. It is really depressing. When I get stressed out, the symptoms intensify. I also had a blood test that showed I had %1000 more anti-bodies in my blood stream then normal...I should see an allergist I suppose. Anyway, I hope that might be remotely helpful for someone! xoxo.
Avatar f tn I have a small zit in my lip it looks like a blister but you barely can see it, it doesn't hurt or anything its the same color of my lip and I was wondering if this was a normal zit or something serious
Avatar f tn Well, I still have the little bumps on my top lip (mouth) but they are not bothering me (i still use chapstick/vasaline on my lips every 15 minutes addicted), but I did realize yesterday in the exact center of my top lip (mouth) it looks like a pimple or a blood blister. It looks like it has a white head on it. It was not painful at all, but I tried to pop it and nothing came out, did not pop just really hurt. Now (next day) it is very sensitive.
Avatar n tn Anyways, I brushed my teeth at night, woke up on Monday and my upper lip had local swelling near the blister (or whatever it is) site. After Monday, the visible swelling that others can see still went down, but when I flip my upper lip outwards to look at it in the mirror, it is still there. The blister is still stinging and painful. The blister is still there and pretty red and it's already Thursday. What do I have? Should I be worried?
Avatar n tn Yesterday I woke up to find one little small bump where the edge of my lip meets the skin, I didn't really think much of it so I just put some chapstick on it and forgot about it. Today I woke up with 2 more on the edge and one on my edge of my upper lip. They don't hurt, are a little visible, and just slightly red. I'm just not sure what they could be.
Avatar f tn on my lower lip, inbetween my skin and my lip, my lip is redder and a bit inflamed. There are no blisters, there was no itching, or tingeling, and its not sensitive to touch on the outside. however if i squeeze it, there is a slight sore discomfort inside like a pimple would feel when u squeeze it. however i dont believe its a pimple. i tried popping it. and on the inflamed bit, there was a tiny cut like "-" that. if not smaller.
Avatar f tn I'm pretty sure we do have some studies that show that hsv1 lived on chapstick/lip stick but not any real life transmission stats from that sort of contact. Oral to eye transmission of viruses is very common for many viruses so if you are going to put something on your eye lid, it should be something that is dedicated to eye lid use only. make sense? spread the word to your friends too since we are entering prime winter virus season!!!
Avatar n tn My lips got a bit dry the second day, but nothing a little chapstick couldn't fix. They also get a little red now, from time to time (typically when I eat something hot like a banana pepper). And once I woke up and the right side of my lower lip was swollen, but I put some ice on it and that went away. That's pretty much the extent of it... It's been 13 days now, and here I am, still with tingly lips/chin. And yet, I've got nothing even approaching a blister...
Avatar f tn Never had cold sores ever. However i get dry chapped upper lip only. Red itchy. And slightly puffy. But no blisters or bumps just dry and chapped. On ocassion if i contact something i am allergic to i will react to it. Trying to figure out if this is an allergic reaction or cold sores but they never blister. They go away when i use chapstick.
Avatar n tn Burt's Bees use to make this Medicated chapstick that i wore constantly, the whole time I used that I never got a fever blister(Even in the uses it said to treat cold sores/fever blisters). Go figure they do not sell it anymore, I can't find it ANYWHERE!! :/ Also, once you have that in your body it is always there, it just lays dormant.
Avatar f tn Yesterday 12/21 I developed a sore throat and today 12/22 my lips look swollen, and on the top and bottom part of my lips it looks like little cluster of white bumps (along the whole lip), and my lips tingle. On Sun 12/20 I burn the top of my mouth with hot food (and i have a blister on roof of mouth) and same day I started using a new chapstick I have never used before. Plus I have been extremely stressed lately. Now my question is does this sound like a type of STD?
Avatar f tn It's directly in the middle of my top lip, so it's not pimples, if I don't have Chapstick or lip gloss, my top lip feels tight and a little chapped but that's it. Yeah I know I should get tested, hopefully soon. Should I just get a blood test, or still try to get the bumps swabbed? Oh and the cold sore on my bottom lip is basically gone now, it's just pink colored skin now. So why the hell are these tiny bumps still here!!! Errrrrr!!! Sorry I am venting.
Avatar f tn it was just a sun blister from not applying sun protection on her lips. I guess I just want to know finally once and for all what I have. I'm neurotic like that. Thanks though!
Avatar f tn Lastly, im not sure what caused it, but I had really chapped, swollen lips last week that resulted in tiny pin sized blisters along the whole rim of my top lip and 1 small, but still larger, blister on my lower lip. It wasnt painful, just felt sunburned or chapped. I'm not sure if it's due to tanning too much, a reaction to my chapstick/ new toothpaste, or whether I got a cold sore from my ex (I never saw one on him).
Avatar n tn I don't use lip stick/lip gloss (just plain unflavored chapstick). And I haven't changed my face wash, moisturizer, toothpaste - etc. Medications I'm on: Klaron (sodium sulfuctimide 10%) I use that to spot treat at night, doxycycline (only for the next 2 weeks to help clear up my skin for a wedding) and Yaz birth control (on my 4th month - previously on a generic for 12 years).
