1470596 tn?1286713970 This can cause knee problems which is why I needed to buy shoes with arch support which stops the foot rolling inwards. For walking you can buy orthotic insoles but I would not recommend running with these. I use Adistar Salvations to run. A good running shop will check you for pronation before you buy. Also this might seem obvious but are you stretching before and after running. Warm ups and downs are as important as the run.
Avatar m tn ve started getting a slight aching pain in my right knee. My doctor said to get better shoes with strong support and cushioning and lose weight it will get better, the shoes has helped but the pain its still there when l walk and put weight on my foot and knee. l am OK walking short disatances , but it gets painful if l walk longer then 15 minutes . l know losing weight is the solution but its difficult as l cant do much walking but l am on a diet and slowly losing weight but it takes time.
Avatar f tn I'm 19 wks and 4 days long. I weight 151lbs...n I'm 5'3. I had a accident in 08 which led me to have constant low back pain...now I also have gestational diabetes. This has been a transition for me but in order to have a normal pregnancy I have to change a lot of my eating habits and check my sugar levels every day. But the issue at the moment....Two days ago while I slept I endure this sharp cramp on my leg which has led me to two days of misery.
Avatar n tn You require an evaluation to determine the nature (cause) of the neuropathy. The left leg and buttock pain is characteristic of sciatica.
3205586 tn?1362842985 LOL the desire to be taller started when i was in primary school, I was always the smallest kid at school, lol i celebrated reaching 5ft. You know if your a shortie, everything you buy is always too long, so heels of every colour, hight and style are a staple for your wardrobe lol though i'm pretty sure that even with out the mobility issues, i wouldn't wear the sky scraper heels DD and her friends wear, ugg they are deadly.
Avatar f tn My mother in law just informed me I need to get some good shoes while pregnant so that my feet don't expand into a bigger size. I normally just wear toms and ankle boots, don't normally go for anything with good support! Any suggestions?
Avatar n tn I have bought expensive shoes that just were not good support for my foot type. So you may want to see a good podiatrist or go to a well known shoe store that specializing in fitting shoes to your feet. Glucosamine supplements that Mollyrae suggested often help strengthen the cartilage in your joints and can ease discomfort. It does take a minimum of 4sometimes 8 weeks before you will notice any relief as it takes time for it to build up and become effective. Antiinflammatories may also help.
Avatar n tn I've been experiencing major swelling in my left ankle and foot. I've been to 4 doctors (Orthopaedic, Vascular, Arthritic and a Primary) and still have no idea what the problem is. I had microscopic surgery on my left knee in June 2006. The swelling in my ankle didn't begin until Spring 2007. Not sure if they're related. It started off as random minor swelling.
Avatar n tn Avoid running on concrete and make sure your shoes fit and support your foot properly, if possible go to a store that specializes in running shoes. These will all help prevent further injury, but first you may need to take even more time off.
Avatar f tn I know how you feel. Drinking lots of water helps me and walking around. Try wearing shoes that have support and not flat footed shoes.
Avatar f tn I will be doing a lot of traveling this summer, lots of airports; does an orthopaedic boot support both knee and ankle? I use Voltaren gel and take Tramadol twice a day.
Avatar n tn Yeah, I had a similar situation. I have a bad back from a car wreck a long time ago. Well, I fell down in the driveway and wound up with an air cast for my foot. I limped for many months and it never healed right. Next thing I know, my lower back started hurting big-time and I had other wierd nerve type symptoms. I finally realized after consulting with a neurologist that, when I was limping all the time, it made my old back injury worse, because I was leaning to one side to compensate.
Avatar n tn SO I AM HAVING PRETTY EXTREME PAIN ONLY WHEN KNEEING ON LEFT KNEE--USUALLY DOMINATE KNEE THAT I ALWAYS KNEE ON WITH ALL MY WIEGHT ON FIRST. DOESNT HURT TO WALK ON OR BEND OR ANY OTHER MOTION. RECENTLY I CAN FEEL SENSATIONS FROM A LITTLE BELOW MY KNEE LIKE "PINS AND NEEDLES" BUT VERY SLIGHT. I CAN LIGHTLY TOUCH BELOW CENTER OF KNEE AND FEEL SAME PAIN WITH VERY LITTLE PRESSURE LIKE A SLIGHT RUB.
Avatar n tn I had my knee partiallly replaced on the inside of knee. Was in a lot of pain in bursa sac area and along incision. My ortho tried 3 injections and the nerve continued to intensely burn, twirl and I felt like something cold was running down the inside of my calf. I felt this 24-7. 1 month ago the Dr. reopened the incision and clipped the nerve. I am now experiencing not as intense burning but like their are more nerves being hot. Will this go away.?
Avatar n tn I was put on partial bed rest cause I worked 10 hrs on my feet. I wore the dc villain shoes cause any shoes with ties made my feet swell more.
Avatar f tn I have arthritis in my knee and in my left foot - but think it is also now in my hip. I was taking percocet for pain but have tried to get off them as I feel I was getting addicted. Right now I am looking for advice - the bottom of my left foot hurts and aches... is there anything you can put in your shoes or on your foot to lessen the pain? It's not swollen, and I don't really want a store bought insert because then it makes it too high for my foot.
Avatar f tn m 28 weeks along so my ankles are beginning to really bother me. Any suggestions on some good work shoes to buy? Since I do have to look dressy and professional I can't just have tennis shoes. But they don't have to be heels or wedges. I've been wearing flats but they have no cushion and are just horrible!
484470 tn?1226541095 Well, I was just wondering if anyone had any suggestions or recommendations on which type of tennis shoes to buy. I am only 16 weeks, but my feet have been bothering me really bad. I am not for which would be the best for support. I am always good at buying the wrong stuff. Any ideas??
Avatar m tn A few weeks on crutches, a few weeks doing exercises in rehab, and using a knee support, and the knee was pretty good. By September 2023, when we went on vacation, things were pretty good. On vacation, more walking, and developed some knee pain in my LEFT knee. But again, nothing that kept me from doing things (used ice, Voltaren, acetaminophen).
1027005 tn?1300050172 that's what I was hoping it was, it's rough though because I can't even put my shoes on anymore without wanting to cry sometimes. Is there anything to make it not so bad on me?
Avatar f tn My doctor told me to wear knee braces whenever I am going to be on my feet a lot. The knee braces help a little but they drive me crazy. My doctor told me that I need to have knee surgery on both of my knees in order to prevent it from getting worse. I have refused the surgery and now two years later they are hurting worse than ever.
Avatar m tn Strengthening muscles works for even the worst injuries for me. I just got over cracked knee caps in under a week because i did a crap load of knee and calf exercises, the muscle is always good to protect the bone. Personally i run on my toes first. It builds up my calf muscles extremely, however i've been lectured saying its bad to run that way? Well it works for me. Everyone runs different, foot placement even.
