How unusual is it for the stones to be in this meaty part of my kidney and since they are still in my kidney aren’t they just going to continue to grow larger? Are these stones causing damage to my kidneys? They don’t seem to be causing any blockages based on the ultrasounds that have been done, but I still have had frequent flank pain and blood visible in my urine prior to the surgery. Is there any hope that I will be able to be stone free and prevent more stones?
Never heard of that. Small stones in the bladder of passing a kidney stone, a bad infection I think, interstitial cystitis and I think cancer as well can cause blood in your urine. Drinking more water may help, not cure, with an infection and might dilute the urine more, making it more obscure to your eyes, but please, please, don't just try to treat such a serious thing at home without seeing a doctor about it!

They cystectomy showed blood squirting out of my left kidney. Stones and infection have been ruled out. On New Years Eve I am going in for the camera in my kidney. 4 days ago at my husbands Christmas party I had 2 beers. Since then I have not noticed blood in my urine. Could it be microscopic now? Or could my left kidney be blocked preventing the blood from coming out? I do have mild kidey pain which I did not have before. Should I still go in for the procedure as planed on NewYears Eve?

Recurrent urine infections could be due to various reasons. Most common cause is stones in kidney which is blocking urine pathway. Other causes are changing sexual partners frequently, pregnancy, diabetes and of course childhood infections. The urine can also be due to retention of urine anywhere in its flow due t obstruction. The obstruction can be due to abnormality of structures since birth, stones.
So you should get a ultrasound, CT scan done and also some urine and blood tests.
Causes of blood in urine other than the two causes that have been ruled out include kidney infections, kidney disease, trauma, bladder stones, Interstitial cystitis, tumors, etc.
In men prostatitis can present with all the symptoms described above.
Additional investigations required include blood tests to check for kidney function and a cystoscopy to check for injury to the bladder lining.
Last year EWSL was attempted 3X to remove small, stubborn stones in my right kidney. Stones were not blocking the ureter but were causing pain for months. After 3rd attempt at EWSL it was decided to try laser treatment cystoscopically. This was "partially" successful. Some of the stones were removed, some he was not able to reach. I was left with a stint which came out before I made it home from the hospital.

Since the kindey stone is 7 mm, so the symptoms seem unrelated to the kidney stones. Since you are having pedal or leg edema, hence your cardiac, liver and kidney functions need to be assessed for which I suggest you to consult a physician immediately. Abdominal causes like irritable bowel syndrome can also cause such symptoms. Common symptoms include abdominal cramping or pain, bloating and gassiness, and altered bowel habits(alternate constipation and loose stools).
