Avatar f tn Doctors recommend regular testicular ultrasounds so that you can make sure they aren't proliferating. If you are looking for a Natural Cure or Natural Treatment, I have found they respond well to Oral Chelators. These are supplements which remove plaque from the arteries. Arterial plaque is basically calcium and cholesterol hardened along the arterial wall. Testicular Microliths are essentially cholesterol and calcium hardened against the epididymal wall.
Avatar f tn I am a poor water drinker which contributes to the formation of most kidney stones. I suggest that you have your stones analysed if you have not done that. I was told by 2 urologists that there is nothing that I can take or do that will change my situation. Both urologist told me the same as what yours said, my chronic back pain was not related to kidney stones. They were correct and I was diagnosed with other issues that was the cause of most of my chronic low back pain.
Avatar f tn Should some of these enter the blood stream, the ONLY other organ that comes to the rescue is the kidney, that constantly filters the blood and this explains the dehydration, as the kidney now is working overtime filtering out the toxins using extra water. Water is the best detoxifying agent! Also another function of the kidneys is water regulation. When chronic conditions cause the kidney to overwork, kidney dysfunction is inevitable.
Avatar m tn Thank you so much for your thoughtful response. My kidney stone problem is a problem with oxalate. I think I will stop the turmeric for now. I am disappointed, as I thought this would help the arthritis. I certainly don't want kidney stone problems again. The calcium supplement I take is calcium citrate (not carbonate). Since I already take a prescription potassium citrate (Urocit-K), I guess the turmeric would be keeping that from doing its job of breaking down the oxalate.
Avatar f tn Incredibly, mutant, toxic nuclear painful and just plain HURT, A LOT, multiple kidney stones. Kidney stones can pass and poof - all gone. Then another - or a few others - can make their ugly journey into your ureter days or weeks later. This experience is not fun. I speak from experience. One little 5 mm just about made me grind the enamel off my teeth - but the lovely wretched staghorn model at a whopping 9+mm? And hooked and now on display in a window box?
Avatar m tn My Mother once had Kidney stones 20-years ago. She had an operation to have the stones removed only to find that they came back a year later in full force. She did not want to have an operation every year.... so she learnt about how apples and apple juice completely dissolves Kidney Stones. Why don't all Doctors know that? A good friend of my Father's had gallstones last year when he came to visit us. He also complained about having painful gallstone attacks everyday.
Avatar n tn I've had shortness of breath which I think is from the cosopt. No appetite which is from the diamox and lately kidney pain (i.e. stones) from the pilocarpine. I don't want to be on this stuff much longer but I would also like to avoid surgery. The docs are just trying to buy me time to see if the effects of the steroid shot wear off and the plumbing in my eye starts working again. I'm also taking ALA, vitamin C, fish oil and doing some cardio whenever I can.
Avatar m tn All i would suggest to people is please try to find a natural cure through eating sleeping and lifestyle rather than going down the route of taking medication long term, as they may end up a lot worse off than when they started. Every case must be treat as individual and all avenues explored more than once, two doctors can have completely different opinions, as can two specialists, they can look for gall stones but completely miss on giving you a function test.
1832268 tn?1326819610 It's about management -not cure. The ideal is to plateau out at the level of kidney function the dog has when first diagnosed. So of course, this is going to vary from dog to dog, and depending on what stage the disease is at when it is first discovered. It depends on how instructions are followed re. diet....it depends on the dog's general fitness. I have such a lot to learn myself about this. And my answer is probably not what you are looking for at all for your survey.
1963554 tn?1325451090 He said that his right kidney is destroyed and that his left kidney has about 25% left. He has a tumor within his bladder and his urine cannot pass thru which goes into his kidney and damages it. When we had Shaggy checked out in May our vet said that it's UTI...because I mentioned to him that he'd pee and then go to other spots and nothing comes out. So he was given anti-biotics. This went on for several months.
2361255 tn?1339611918 Sadly, as you probably know, there is (currently) no cure for kidney disease ... but we can help our best friends become more comfortable in their last months, weeks and days. Try not to think about losing her just now, just enjoy each day as it comes. There is always heartache when we lose a dog from our lives, and sometimes the grieving is harder and more difficult than when we lose a human from our lives.
1916673 tn?1420236870 Sub-Qs will help bring the toxic levels down, and then it's a question of keeping them down with diet changes and supplements. You probably know, this won't cure the kidney disease ... but once stable, it may provide many months (very occasionally, even years) of additional time and an improved quality of life during that extra time.

Avatar f tn She had over 10 operations for kidney stones, and was receiving government disability payments for an inoperable, terminal, kidney condition. She attributes the cure of this kidney trouble entirely to the asparagus. I was not surprised at this result, as `The elements of materia medica', edited in 1854 by a Professor at the University of Pennsylvania , stated that asparagus was used as a popular remedy for kidney stones.
732783 tn?1231795717 I am 26. I have had kidney stones for the past 10 years. I spent 14 days in the hospital for stones and was diagnosed with MSK. I still get the run around with doctors and told that I shouldn't feel pain. To get any relief from pain I have to go to the ER, If threre is any suggestions, please let me know. Thanks.
Avatar f tn I was wondering about this Dr Wolf everyone talks about and the procedure to remove stones. Has anyone here had this surgery and does it work?. I am tired of living in pain there has to be something a doctor can do for us.
Avatar f tn Even though I have stones in both kidneys I rarely have pain in the left. However my right kidney seems to hurt whether or not I have any stones. The pain just seems to be constant and just never goes away, it just gets worse when I'm acutally passing a stone. I guess that seems to be the biggest issue for me right now, just controlling the pain in my right kidney. The stones are pretty small, usually around 2 to 3mm with the last one being around 4.
192055 tn?1263559137 What tests are done to see if someone has MSK? I am still suffering from kidney pain with no answers! 7 months, off and on blood in my urine, normal Ct scans... but a lot of pain!! I recently got an IVP done and blood tests to see if I have any cancerous cells. I will not get any results until my next apt with the urologist on Dec 23rd. I am having cystoscopy done that day... and I am really not looking forward to it since they are not knocking me out, just giving me a numbing gel... ugh.
489228 tn?1291535054 I used think the stones moving in the kidney caused it but I don't have any stones now? Thanks for taking time to answer!
408409 tn?1344916781 I don't know for sure, but I think I may have MSK. I've had somewhere around 20 kidney stones in the last 10 years (I stopped counting around 20, it was making me too depressed.) I've had so many UTI's that I'm completely resistant to most of the usual antibiotics: Amoxicillin, Bactrim, etc., my infections laugh at them.
690241 tn?1227390813 ) I read her comment and saw what you posted and yes, I believe that is true about diet not being able to prevent stones; it can in the case of kidney stones but not when you have MSK I believe, as you said.
667008 tn?1231130069 I do take some natural remedies under the supervision of my psychiatrist but when I took cranberry pills as a diuretic with the reccomendation of my grandmother who was taking them for that reason, they gave me kidney stones and I only found out why after. The problem with Xanax is its not meant for long term use and a person can easily build up a tolerance to it. Every benzodiazepene has that potential but it is far less with Klonopin which is safe for long term use.
Avatar f tn I'm so tired I could cry, but I blame that on the pregnancy. I passed some kidney stones last week, so that was fun. Anyway, for me I guess this is good/normal range in respect to the upper limit of how my body is capable of feeling. You know, when you're already used to feeling like garbege...... Anyhow, I hope you are well (as well as could be expected). Have you gotten any of your consults scheduled yet? How about the mobility stuff?
Avatar f tn now about three months ago i went to the hospital again for pain in my kidneys and was told i had kidney stones and have had them ever since and when i dont my kidneys still hurt and i feel nauseated i went back to my doctor again and asked how often i can get them and all she said was often and sent me for a ct.
