Avatar f tn I am currently looking for a new depression medication. I need some info on something that is NOT a SSRI, a hormone, and is not zoloft, celexa, or prozac......also something that does not contain salicylic acid aka aspirin. If anyone can help I would appreciate the help.

Avatar f tn from these types of medications. I am glad that it is working for you. Just remember to visit your therapist on a regular basis to discuss anxiety issues.
Avatar f tn The key is to find the right doc, ask around, look in the internet for your area, ask your primary doc for a referral. You need to get help. You have to be very patient because it is not a quick fix, it never is. But the wait is worth it. You are a strong person, I know this because you are still alive and are asking for help. I know that in your state of depression right now it is even hard to take a shower or get out of bed, no energy, no strength to do the smallest task.
Avatar f tn I'm on 50 mg Zoloft
Avatar f tn Im on medication for depression and anxiety. Also occasionally I have a sedative in case I go bizzercerz. Would that hurt my child more than stress would?
Avatar n tn I would also suggest that you see if your doctor would be willing to try you on a higher dose of your medication or another medication, although I am sure that your doc will want to see you sober to make sure that the medication is really not working. You can also go to emergency if you think that you are danger to yourself or others. You can get through this, many of us have and are, without turning to alcohol.

Idk I wouldnt suggest it, if there is anyway you can do with out it, try to. You don't want to feel guilty should anything happen.
Avatar f tn I know this may sound ridiculous but its the best ive felt in a long time. Years ago when i had to take this medication i had the same feelings. Is there any reason for this? Is there anything that i can take that does not alter the mind or your chemical structure in your brain that can just cause this kind of relaxation in the same way?
Avatar m tn I just wanted to tell people who are struggling with opiate addiction its hard but b12 and someone to talk to helps. My question, is there a depression medication that works best for this type of thing?
550027 tn?1215767264 Forgot about exercise and rest (oxymoron that. lol) Walk if you can just to move the body and sleep when you can for as long as you can...it is the main ingredient in natural healing. How ya doing this fine 4th? The fireworks are really bothering me. Sounds too much like guns some of them - jump right outta my skin, even though I know they are going on...I still jump.
Avatar f tn Curious as to what sort of doctors you do go to? Ones who don't give out medication for depression and anxiety? Over here we call them bad doctors. No doubt it must be a specialist of some sort you are attending? Like a doctor who may deal with the bone structure or a brain doctor. They vary. Obviously you are at the wrong doctors for you. There is a class book called Mind over Mood. Might be worth a look up. It goes through many exercises the a cognitive therapist would go through.
Avatar m tn He was very good and after a couple of meetings he prescribed me with medication for what he called a chemical imbalance in my brain that caused depression. The meds worked and I definitely wasn't as sad most of the time. So for seven years I've taken meds. More recently I've started to feel, emotionless and even angry (on the inside). Im not suicidal like I was in middle school, but I definitely don't feel good.

Avatar n tn However if your doctor has prescibed this drug for anxiety then I think that it is safe for you assume that it used for anxiety. Does it not mention what the drug is used for on the directions/side affects? They wouldn't prescribe a drug that is of no use to you. I was on a drug called Olanzapine and that had had some bad press about it possibly causing diabetes.
Avatar f tn I found that the medication I am on now stopped depression, panic attacks, and anxiety. If you are not on any medication now, the doctor may well prescribe some for you. Panic attacks are very difficult I know. I do hope you are now getting professional help. Let us know how you are getting on.

1136436 tn?1261826161 If you have been prescribed medication for depression and have been taking it as prescribed can you say you feel better than before you started taking them? If so then the likelihood is that if you stop taking them the depression will simply return. Unless you have identified and corrected problems and issues in your life that were causing depression that is. Depression doesn't just disappear because we want it to. You have to work hard with treatment to achieve that.

Avatar n tn If anxiety is taking a toll on your everyday life, then you may want to consider trying a medication but you would have to give it a try for at least 4 weeks before you know if it is really working for you. Perhaps you can try a different medication other than celexa? Lastly, there are a lot of cognitive behavioral therapies out there that can help you get a better handle on your anxiety. You can learn these techniques through a therapist.
