Avatar n tn One thing I do want to say is a friend of mine had similar tinnitus that you describe and the issue was actually wax build up within the ear. He used debrox to clean it out and that resolved the issue. If you haven't tried that, you might consider it. Debrox is otc and inexpensive and worth finding out if this is actually the issue. If not, then ya. Try the reverse ear pops, antihistamines and ibuprofen. Or see an ENT.

I have not taken more than the recommended dose and followed dosage directions, but I wonder if the aspirin can be causing the Tinnitus. Also, the perceived volume will increase if I push my lower jaw out, forward and down all at once.

Its been a couple of weeks...I haven't been on here for a while bit hanks for your replys back...my ear is still ringing a little bit it's been a month I saw the ENT specialists and he prescribed me anti-inflammatory steroid...the ringing def. Went down a little bit. Then we waited a week and then he told to take ibuprofen. Which at first I didn't think was a bad idea.

After going to a doctor, I got amoxicillin pills for 10 days. The symptoms went away but came back pretty quickly. 2) May: I went to a doctor again, they took samples from my ear and the result was Enterococcus faecalis bacteria.
Avatar n tn I have had a thyroid issue for 9 years and I have dealt with Tinnitus on and off throughout. Last night I woke up with major ringing in my left ear and I would say a 25% loss in hearing. I went to the doctor this morning they do believe it may be caused by the Thyroid since I am way off still on my labwork results. Also, I do notice and I don't know if this is part of it but when I drink alcohol I tend to get the ringing that night and last night I had a glass of wine while out.

If i have problem with my inner ear, why should have pain in jaw? In my case jaw pain happens because of middle ear problems.
Avatar f tn I took pain killers for a few years. I'm not bragging but I never snorted it or exceeded the recommended dose. I took about half of what I was prescribed. I stopped the ibuprofen/with codeine. Within a few weeks I developed loud ringing/tinnitus. I've been prescibed anti anxiety medicine for the tinnitus. It helps very little except for I sleep great. I've researched extensively and tried different supplements but without improvement.
Avatar n tn Try valsalva maneuver (take a deep breath and blow while pinching your nostrils shut and closing your mouth). Tinnitus can also be a psychological problem. Avatar f tn I worked for a non-profit for 7 years that serviced hard of hearing and deaf persons. Tinnitus was something we dealt with and it was non-reversible. HOWEVER. A number of the conditions we experience on treatment seem to reverse when the drugs stop. As in nygirl's situation, I hope the same for you. What I'm thinking is that it's yet another reason to keep hgb up in reasonable numbers. That's what I'm thinking, anyway.
