Common Questions and Answers about How long does suboxone withdrawal last

suboxone

Hi Lona what you should do is go into suboxone.com and you will get info on what this medication does, I mean I can tell you what it has done for me but you first need to learn about the med ok.
When I got on the subs, they did tell me about the withdrawls and they said it wasn't as bad as the vics. I said, "Why are you giving me a pill that I will eventually withdrawl from when I'm coming to you FOR withdrawls?" LOL! You mentioned you are having chills, sweats, and aches, and that is what I experienced with the vic withdrawls. How is it different, or is it?? I'm soooo worried now!! I don't want to go through this again! I might as well be on the vics and have fun then! LOL!
No major withdrawal. When will it happen? Does it take a few days to wear off? How long? Any advice helps. Thanks!
HOW LONG DOES SUBOXONE W/D LAST??? It in no way compares to coming off of oxy's but it still *****, I cant function and I have zero energy. Its 3:02 AM. I CAN'T SLEEP.
But they still must do the work of getting their tolerance down, and that takes time and misery. It is not 'Suboxone withdrawal'; it is withdrawal from the opioids that the person has been using BEFORE taking Suboxone. The withdrawal from opioids generally takes a couple months. With Suboxone, the dose/response curve is not linear, but instead has a ceiling-like plateau.
Hello. Suboxone has a pretty long drawn out withdrawal.. Unfortunately many of us suboxone users dont realize this until its time to quit. My best advise is to get down to even smaller amounts.. Like a quarter of a quarter.. or tiny crumb of sliver..then every other day.. You will probably have some withdrawal no matter what you do. Just brace yourself and hang in there.. All the normal tips for easing the withdrawal - lots of fluids, advil, hot baths, and exercise..
How long will suboxone withdrawal last? I am at 39 days off suboxone and still experiencing mild withdrawal. I was on sub. for around 2 1/2 yrs. and jumped off at 12mg. It is definitely not as bad as the first few weeks but this is lasting forever. I had to withdraw from college this quarter and haven't been back to work for a while. Is anyone going through the same situation?
Kova, I've been on suboxone for 5yrs now.. Even though suboxone is not a real opiate it does have its own symptoms that you will notice when you come off.. I've felt almost the same as when I came off methadone, shakey muscles, headaches, a lot of the symptoms I felt coming off methadone. You DO have to taper slowly off suboxone even down to 1 to 1/2mg. and even lower if needed. I hope the best for you n good luck........
started taking recommended 16mg/day, then started doing 8mg a day then eventually every other day and finally 9 days ago I took like 40mg at once stupidly to get a final high, or attempt to. i felt fine up until 2 days ago... i dont know how but i didnt have withdrawal til then... now i am EXTREMELY tired... like cant walk or do work for long periods of time... i get goosebumps as random as anything... hot/cold flashes, sweats...
Congrats on your decision to get off suboxone. I know just how hard it is and I was never able to come off it ct and not relapse. I had to go ct off my doc because its so hard. You are 16 days clean so your pretty much through it. Thats huge! U should be proud of yourself because it is a killer to get off suboxone esp. 3 years of using 16mg. Wow. Thats awful that your doctor said youd be on it for life how old are you? Ive never heard that before only with methadone.
he doesn't go to a doctor he is dosing himself? why does his dose differ? he cant ct from suboxone at this dosage he will be very sick for a long time. he needs to taper down to almost crumbs. suboxone is used as a maintenance drug to prevent addicts from chasing their high. he is still using but it is maintained. what did he use before he started the suboxone? does he go to counseling and/or support groups?
Can anyone tell me how long Suboxone withdrawals last???? im so anxious to know because I really can't wait to feel back to normal. Thank you and God Bless all of you.
I am going to stop cold turkey tomorrow. Does anyone know how long my withdrawal will last and how bad it will be? I have heard withdrawal from Sub is milder than say.. vicodin or oxy. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!
The withdrawal has not been bad but I am losing patience. How long does this last? I sure would appreciate any info. Does anyone know a time line for withdrawal. Thanks.
Make sure, no matter how good your taper plan is or how well you stick to it, that you have an emergency plan other than going out and scoring your drug of choice that you became addicted to in the first place- if the Bupe detox does not go well.
Dont be confused- what you are experiencing has been experienced by many people coming off suboxone. We are all very individual in how withdrawal effects us, but I suffered badly coming off of suboxone. 20 days in and I was still losing my mind with physical and emotional symptoms. Like you I was confused and really thought something was wrong. But your ok. Just hang in there. Its so taxing on the mind to experience this for such a long long time..
But even if you DO get precipitated withdrawal, all is not lost-- just keep taking the Suboxone each morning, 16 mg, (more won't make it any better), and within 3 days you will be almost completely free of withdrawal. Precipitated withdrawal is miserable, but it does not last long, as long as you don't take any agonists. Just stick with the Suboxone, no matter what, and you will be much better after a few days.
