Did they find any cure or vaccine to prevent hiv?
My answer as to how soon, is soon... not "soon enough!" Should have been done years ago!

My liver doctor told me today that with Ribavarin and Interferon the cure rate is 40%.But I guess that by august of 2011 they are coming out with Telapavir I think thats the spelling for it.but anyway you are to take it with the riba and interferon.It is a pill.But it i.s supposed to bring the cure rate to 70 % !so that is great news.
You can try all those, and I hope they work for you. Some people will have frequent outbreaks no matter what they eat, etc. Others won't. It's not really well understood why some do and some don't.
How soon after you were exposed did you test? It may have been too soon for you to get a positive result. Are you going to retest?

Hard to tell if Metacavir was ever considered for HIV even though it belongs to the same class of drugs used to treat HIV. It is just that a Chinese drug company is do clinical trials with Metacavir for HBV. There are no published results of the trials, as far as I can tell, but there are rumours that it may soon be approved by the China's sFDA. Will keep you posted.
