They have been very heavy to and i used to never have clots well today i thought my period was over because the bleeding was gone since yesterday but to my surprise i sat down to use the restroom and blood poured out of me and i passed a clot the size of the palm of your hand! This same thing happend to me not last month but the month before i thought it stopped than i passed one the size of an egg, what is going on can anyone tell me a friend of mine says its premenepause?
For the past year my monthly period has been very heavy passing lots of large blood clots. It had, for a couple of months slowed down with the clots, but this month is ridiculous. I'm now on my 12th day and still passing blood clots bigger than golf balls. There is no pain involved and i've never had any cramping, not younger nor at the age I am. I was thinking the clotting was the lining and i'd probably be period free before long.
I am 43 and have noticed increased clotting with my periods, along with cramping. The clots can be large at times. Heavy bleeding first two days or so, but not soaking pads every hour....more like every 2-3hour hours, but heavier for me personally. I had my thyroid removed in 2004 and take thyroid hormone. Could this be perimenopause, a thyroid issues, or something else? Noticed tiny spotting around ovulation as well past couple months, but not enough even for a liner.
I started around the time I should give or take a few days, and I had a normal heavy period for about 4 days. Recently, about a week after, I started spotting. I asked my sister if she ever restarted a period and she said yes, sometimes all of the egg does not come out, and having sex right after your period can cause it to restart. I wasn't worried untill last night I put in a tampon around 11:30, and went to sleep at 12.
On Saturday I had the worst cramps I've ever had in my whole like for 6 hours straight and I passed a fairly large black clot, about the size of a silver dollar it was squishy and unshapely. My bad cramps subsided around 6 AM and I slept. The next day my cramps weren't too bad but around 8 PM I passed a plum sized clot that was nothing like the other one. It was dark reddish, perfectly round and firm and it almost looked like a sac, like it had a membrane over it or something.
This even woke me up last night and I barely made it to the bathroom on time. Past periods have been heavy and even sometimes painful but never with such large clots or unpredictable flow. There is very little cramping with this period, which is also unusual. Also, it is about 1 week early.
Just concerned, or should I be? Is this just another step towards pre-menopause?
On July 8th, I started to bleed again and its been constant, very heavy and there are a lot of large blood clots. I have also been having really bad abdominal cramps like you would experience with a heavy period as well as stomach pains. Since I have started bleeding I have had a pretty severe headache that just won't go away. Yesterday I started to get really, really bad stomach pains as well as increased bleeding. I was vomiting yesterday as well.
Probably for the past year or so I've been getting blood clots during my period that are reasonable size and regular but I've never really worried about them before. Thismorning however, was a different story!
I woke up today and thought I had wet the bed, I was drenched but when I got up I realised it was all blood.
From there I went to the ER because this was now day 3 with heavy massive clots, terrible cramping and back pain. They took me immediately & took blood. Hooked me up to an IV and took me for and external & internal ultrasound. Found out I was 6 weeks and 3 days. Now I'm at 6 wks & 5 days approx. The baby is still there, but they could not find a heartbeat. Now, they said that the fetus may just be too young to find the heartbeat, or there could not be one at all. They weren't sure.

Heavy and irregular bleeding can be because of some pelvic pathology like fibroids, endometrial hyperplasia, adenomyosis etc. Hence an examination and an ultrasound scan should be done to make the diagnosis. Consult a gynaecologist.

OK A WHILE BACK I HAD A VERY HEAVY PERIOD, IF WAS NOT ONLY HEAVY BUT LARGE BLOOD CLOTS APPEARED TOO. MY PERIOD IS NEVER NORMAL SOMETIMES I WILL COME ON BACK TO BACK FOR MAYBE 2 OR 3 MONTHS AND THEM I MAY SKIP 2 TO 3 MONTHS. I HAVE ALSO SKIPPED AS MANY AS SIX MONTHS BEFORE DOES ANYONE HAVE OR HAS HAD THESE SAME PROBLEMS.
I will spot for 3-4 days, then begin my heavy period for 5-7 day. I used to run like clockwork for 5 days. Now, during my period, bloodflow will stop, and I feel "stopped up." (This is the only way I know how to describe it.) In a few hours, I feel a "pop." A clot has passed. Sometimes, my period resumes. Other times, I am stopped up again. I will again pass a huge clot. (golf ball size or larger). It makes such a mess! Any ideas?
I am in my early 20's and just last night and the day before, i have had a very heavy menstrual flow. I've gone through a super maxi in an hour or so and i've had large blood clots. I've had irregular periods my whole life, and my doctor has said this is due to the fact that i'm obese, but i've never had clots this big before or bleed this heavily. Is this normal for overweight women to have extremeley heavy periods?
I have had heavy period for quite some time, but for the pass 5 or 6 months I have noticed and felt large clots coming out during my period the size of a small fist.
