Avatar f tn I am 21 weeks and have day in and day out the worst heartburn/acid indigestion ever. Nothing seems to be working and my doctor told me to take liquid mylanta or maylox. I went looking for both of them and couldn't find either. When I came home and googled them it seems that they have been taken off the market. Is there anything else that is safe to take....anything that will give me any relief at all???
11970398 tn?1443134602 Ive had aweful heartburn, tums arnt cutting it, my dr says i can take maalox but i was wondering if anyone knew a pill i could swallow for it?
Avatar f tn U can get a cough medicine from boots of your in the UK that's safe to take in pregnancy but what helped me was making my own lemon and honey drinks x
Avatar f tn ) Rennie is fab for nausea, acid reflux, heartburn, indigestion and gas pains and is completely safe to take during pregnancy, as long Jr you dont take more than 8 a day. Ive used them since the nausea / acid reflux hit at 30 weeks and I'm so glad I did.
Avatar f tn Pregnancy is only one reason to cause a late/delayed cycle. The human body is far from perfect and every female in their lifetime will experience a wonky cycle or two. I know the store boots, but when I was in the UK I never actually was in there looking at their pregnancy tests so I'm not sure how good they are. I would try something a little more well known, such as a Clear Blue or First Response test. Pink dye is best to use if you can get it.
Avatar f tn I have regular heartburn. Hoping baby has lots of hair. :) Chewing gum seems to help a bit. I need to to try club soda.
Avatar f tn I know how stupid it sounds but with my nan, aunties, mum, sister and me its all the same. Bran flakes, shreddies, whetabix all cause us heartburn. I'm staying well away during pregnancy as those heart burns last for hours. And not everyone is the same. But this is what I've found and as I suffer most days since I was 8-9 years old. I know what works for me and what doesn't.
Avatar f tn Its fine with my first pregnancy there wasn't enough tapatio in the world to satisfy my craving for spicy foods. I even ate jalapeƱos...and before that I was someone that couldn't eat hot cheetos because they would make me choke! That kid had me dipping hot cheetos in tapatio as a midnight snack lmao!
203342 tn?1328737207 I probably have a packet a week and only when i have had a couple pints. Almonds can be found in the home baking section of uk supermarkets. When you get heartburn take a handful, grind it into a paste and swallow. That should see you through the day. If you have really bad heartburn you might need another handful and that should do it. After a couple months of almond taking i realised i was getting less and less heartburn.
Avatar f tn Hi im from UK and was told by my midwife that all women are now offered sweeps from 38 weeks and that they wont allow us to go beyond a week over anymore. Im already scheduled to have my swrey on the 21st of january and i too am hoping it works as my ribs are so sore and my spd is really bad. Id ring your midwife and ask for one at your 38 week appointment.
8765505 tn?1399764936 I take prilosec. Baby safe. I had acid reflux before being pregnant. No reason to suffer through heartburn. If you have constant heartburn/acid reflux you can damage your esophagus since it's not equipped to handle stomach acid. There's always the classic tums.
Avatar f tn Any one have home remedies for acid reflux or heartburn? I have the worst. Currently 38 weeks along.
4451415 tn?1359271504 I love spicy food i just did fajitas for dinner and i have the biggest heartburn in the world :( i dont want to have to stop eating curry and fajitas its not fair and gaviscon is not helping help please
Avatar f tn Its 4am and they won't shift. I'm so so tired. I have had 3 rennies tablets and 2 glasses of milk to try and shift the heartburn but it's being stubborn tonight... and this backache is unreal. Any tips please ladies?
Avatar f tn There is no consensus in the medical community about how much, if any, alcohol is a safe during pregnancy. I miss it a lot but the reality is I have raging heartburn so booze would just make it worse anyway. I haven't had any alcohol since finding out I was pregnant and won't have any. Sigh.
Avatar f tn Hi I am 35weeks pregnant and I have really bad heartburn at night time and every time I eat I feel so full that I can barely even move. I feel the baby moving really low in my pelvic area where I haven't felt him move since the beginning of my pregnancy. I toss and turn all night. Are any of these signs that I could have the baby early or is there anyway to tell?
Avatar f tn So it's 130am and I just wanna cry! I'm 36+3 weeks pregnant and I can't take the heartburn anymore! It's so bad that I'm having troubles breathing and I'm so uncomfortable I'm just ready for my lil man to come out!!!!
Avatar n tn if what you asking is "could this be due to pregnancy" it's unlikely. heartburn in pregnancy is due to a number of things one being the size pf the pregnant uterus pushing the stomach and causing reflux. Also higher levels of progesterone during pregnancy cause acid reflux to occur. I feel this is too early to be pregnancy related. good luck.
Avatar f tn The only thing it might do is give you heartburn. Other then that your fine.
Avatar f tn Although they may not work for very long periods of time but your OB can recommend a medication that better suits your pregnancy. I had horrible heartburn in my last pregnancy, I would literally choke on pure acid (very gross, I know!) But after I delivered..I had sudden abdominal pain. I ended up having severe gallbladder stones and had my gallbladder removed the next day.
