This problem has increased in the past three years. The gas is so smelly and at times the gas causes pain in my lower left side of my back. I eat very healthy I was told my the doctor to increase fiber in my diet to help with my bowl movement and stay away from foods that is prone to cause gas. But if I eat chips I get gas. Do you have any suggestions. I always follow my doctors orders.
I've noticed now that the pain is kind of on both sides at times. It's still the strongest in the LLQ, but it radiates to my left lower back, and I also feel a sort of "pinching sensation" on my right lower back. It doesn't quite seem like back pain because it feels closer toward the side and stomach. Doc said to try Senokot for constipation and it does help - without it takes a lot of effort to have a BM and my stools are very small, and they sink.
It started with very strong headaches on the back of my head on the lower right. Any exertion on my part brought amazingly strong pain. They started on the Tuesday.. by Thursday of that same week I could barely see, or stand. My Head was pounding with my heartbeat, I couldn't eat, and I couldn't sit still.. Any food that I ate turned into excessive gas and caused tremendous chest pain, as well as discomfort in the liver region. My Abdomen was sore, and it would flare up every few days.

I had this quick pain in my lower back on the left side, just above my hip i guess. Happened a few weeks ago, only last for about two seconds, thought nothing of it, thought it was just gas, now today it happened again. Any thoughts or ideas? Do have heartburn and acid reflux quite frequently. Pain does not stay, only last for about 1-2 seconds.
It is ranging from the lower left abdomen to midleft. The pain has been present for 2 days. It is now dull and constant. When it started it lasted the eveing thro to 5am in the morning. I went to ER and the Doc who examined me did'nt think it was pancreatis. I have no fever but gas and bloating have increased recently. I do have alternating Diarhoea and Constipation with mild cramps for 3 years but this is VERY different. It seems this is on top of the normal symptoms I have.
and then that was followed by a lot of gas. I still have the gas problem and I can still feel the pain throbbing in my lower left side once and a while. I drink 1 gallon of water a day and when I take gas pills it seems to work. Also, when I use the bathroom the pulsating pain goes away for awhile. What could this be?
I have been suffering with IBS for a number of years with having abdominal pain in my left side around lower back and left rib cage mainly. I have tried many herbal remedies and been to the doctors so many times I just forget how many it is now! I was loosing hope and thought there was no cure for IBS sufferers. I came across some form of Activated carbon. This carbon is found in underwear! I was so shocked when I saw what they did and how they worked on my local East Midlands news!
When it was drained, the pain left for a little while. But it is back and worse. The pain is in the lower back/hip area, pain goes down my left butt area and sometimes pain shoots down my leg. It bothers me worse at night. I will either wake up in pain only on that side, or when I wake up I can not move, the pain and the stiffness causes me to not be able to turn over from one side to the other. All this is accompanied with terrible gas as well, but not all the time.

I am 19yrs old, female, healthy weight. I have had chronic rib pain for MANY years. As far back as a can remember i would get this "aching" feeling in my lower left rib (near the very bottom), always in the same exact spot. In the past it would come and go and wouldnt come back for a long time. However, in the last year or so, it has started aching way more frequently. (sometimes daily as opposed to maybe every few months or so in the past).
I also have recurring pain in my back, centralized in the middle of the small of my back. The abdominal pain seems to radiate from my lower left side (more toward my belly button rather than the side, about even with my nipple), and comes and goes, with sharp pains once in a while. If I press on the area, there isn't any tenderness. If I try to sleep on my right side, it hurts, but if I lie on my back or left side, the pain goes away.
Last night, right after work, I started having severe pain in my lower back/right side. I had a terrible time sleeping (cold not get comfortable in any position...hurt worse to lay on my left side than on my right...lying on the left cause my right side to hurt worse.) and woke at 2am in severe pain. My husband gave me 2 advil PM and it eased the pain enough to allow me to sleep in a propped up position. the pain is not nearly as intense, but is still there all day today.

2 months ago i was sitting and I accidently jerked my back, followed by immense pain in my lower left rib cage for about 10 excrutiating seconds. After then it went away slowly but if I sit evenly for too long it hurts mildly and rises. Doesnt hurt when I carry things or jog for long but when I eat and I jog for 10 mins I arrive at a sharp shooting pain somehow walking at a slow pace relieves that.
During the summer I had a brief period of constipation with thin stools (not quite a pencil) which lasted about 1 week. Then everything went back to normal. I have type 2 diabetes and have been having severe pain in my upper back area or lower left pelvis area for several weeks. The pain is so intense that prescribed pain killers only put me to sleep but doesn't erase the pain. Burping doesn't help and passing gas relieves little pain and the pain feels like muscle spasms.
