gas causing lower back pain

Please someone help us I beg of you Doctors do the research find out what is causing this pain when we lay down! Pain only on left side lower back by kidney sometimes accompanied by servere gas and pressure on stomache.

For the past year, I have been having pain that wakes me up in the middle of the night from my lower abdominal all the way around to my lower back. The pain is so severe that it takes my breath away at times and there is no position that I can lay in without pain (even on my side hurts). The only thing that relieves my pain is to get up and walk around for about 30 minutes. During that 30 minutes, if I have to cough or sneeze, it hurts really bad in my lower abdominal, lower back and hip area.

Hi there. I haven't heard of gas causing pain in the back, I know it will definitely cause it in the shoulders and ribs. How far along are you? If our close to your due date it could be labor pains and your having them in your back. A lot of women have back labor.

I had my prostate checked and the doctor said, it was alittle enlarged, but nothing to be concerned about. I had blood work done. All came back fine, including my PSI . What could be causing this pain. I also noticed that I am tired more in the morning and I have sore muscles and joints. They ease up as I move around. I am 56 and just wondering what this might be. But whenever I stand for long time or after sleep, I have the feeling of gas accumulation, which presses my pelvic floor causing pain there and the lower back region. It could be gas, When I get a gas lock I get a pain like that and it lasts probably 5 hours or until I release gas. LOL, but I could be wrong.... It could be something else?

Driving may make what's causing your back pain worse -- but the simple act of driving doesn't cause back pain. You might consider bringing the back portion of your car seat to a more upright position. Often times people have these tilted very far back, and it can induce muscle strain along the spine.

The only way to diagnose IBS is by your symptoms and trapped gas causing pain which is relieved when passing the gas is a biggie. Look at what you are eating and drinking on a regular basis and eliminate one thing and see if this improves....if not add that food back into your diet and remove another...this is how you will find out if it's food causing the problem. Other symptoms of IBS is constipation or diarrhea and alternating between the two.

I was put on my second antibiotic, the pain in lower back finally ceased, but I still have the pain in side and back. I suffer from lower back pain occassionally and I was trying to find out if it was kidney related. However, I noticed that after drinking plenty of water it goes away. I do not feel pain sitting down but it is mostly when I try to get up that I can not not get my back straight quickly.
