678918 tn?1226751211 That is every interesting, I would like to know, anyone have any information?
973741 tn?1342342773 Yes, I've read that it helps too but don't know anyone who has a real life story to tell me. Hm. You know what is odd? I got sick, have lost some weight. It's also turned chillier here and I am not having hot flashes at night at all. I'm sleeping pretty well. Makes me wonder if they really were hot flashes. And my moods seem better. I haven't had a period in 5 months. Maybe I'm headed toward being more even with the hormones. Lordy, I hope so.
Avatar f tn i have anxiety that seems related to the menstrual cycle, specifically when estrogen drops in the cycle. I also developed all this for the first time after I stopped breastfeeding and got my cycle back. This is theory of course, but I was told that taking low dose hormones through birth control could help me to level out each month and hopefully diminish the symptoms. Just food for thought.
Avatar m tn If you try a testosterone trial and still have hot flashes, then it could be estrogen that is leaving your system. Not that men have very much estrogen, but I've read that they do have a little, the same way women have some testosterone. If you want to try estrogen, after giving the testosterone a trial and if you find it does nothing, call the same doc who prescribed the testosterone and tell him that it's not doing anything, and ask about getting an estrogen prescription.
Avatar n tn And also estrogen is the common hormone in boys and girls that is required for growth, in boys, it is produced by conversion of testosterone, so, I would expect it to be low in boys during growth period. If you have any contra information, please let me know. You could as well check this with your endo?. For various stages of puberty, you may refer the following link: http://en.wikipedia.
Avatar f tn t take birth control (the high estrogen makes me grow precancerous lumps in my breasts). So she put me on flaxseed oil, she said it is a plant estrogen which might help with my lining. Has anyone done this?? Did it work?
Avatar n tn For about 3 years now, I have been living with ovarian cysts. At first it was my left ovary, but now it has been my right ovary that has been the source of difficulty. I have ended up in the hospital 3 times due to the pain that is caused when the cysts enlarge and bleed. I thought it was a burst cyst, but I think I was mistaken. The hospital visits were primarily due to the extreme pain I was in (the morphine did little to help!).
640719 tn?1277140030 no sexual activity for that time and they get into the bloodstream to give you back the Estrogen you need. Maintainance dose is one pessary every 2-3 weeks after that. I was also told I could buy synthetic estrogen at the Health Food shop but it worked out to be AU$190 for a months supply! I found the pessaries work well. I cannot take the contraceptive pill or Hormone replacement due to history of heart disease in the family and also Cancer.
Avatar n tn Apparently the coating of receipts has estrogen and we get them in our blood stream also from plastics and food supply. Is your Doctor worried? I have all kinds of tests all the time that come out weird. I let my doctor worry about them. It is strange they were even checking your FSH.
Avatar f tn Also, unfermented, non-traditional soy foods are the last thing anyone should be consuming. Check out Dr. Mercola's website. The majority of soy on the market is GMO and most soy products out there are unfermented. If you think you're doing yourself a favor by consuming soy sauce even, you're not, because the majority of this even is not made the traditional manner and has wheat gluten added to it. Be sure to check out the website.
Avatar f tn Tricyclic antidepressants have also been linked with GERD, most likely because the neurotransmitters they work on in the brain are the same as those in the gut. And for women in perimenopause and menopause, it’s important to note that hormone replacement therapy has also been found to be strongly associated with gastroesophageal reflux.
1654035 tn?1332425178 I am now having my second girl and really the pregnancy has felt very similiar. No morning sickness or food aversions. Fatigue, but that has gone away in the second trimester. As far as carrying I think I am carrying lower this time but I am not 100% sure. So do you girls think this is true?
Avatar m tn Bisphenol A, a chemical used in food cans and plastic containers, may lower your testosterone by exposing you to chemicals that mimic estrogen in your body. Steer clear of foods in containers with the recycling numbers 3, 6, or 7. If you want to lose 20 pounds of fat, build major muscle, and boost your testosterone You should aim for 1 gram of protein daily per pound of body weight.
Avatar f tn d read, on this forum, that B6 absorption may be reduced by the estrogen in foods. Although I realize that the comment was about food, I wanted to investigate the estrogen angle. Especially since my neuropathy symptoms improved so much during my period. And I'd read some accounts where neuropathy was worse prior to period onset (when progesterone is higher). Anyway I tried using estriol last night. (Estriol is a bio-identical estrogen cream.) Wow, did my symptoms worsen!
Avatar n tn It seems that if it works on the hypothalamus to increase activity from a woman's hormone productng organs, WELL Am I out of luck because I no longer have any? Everything was removed. Please help.
Avatar f tn lol I have been convinced that i'm in a limbo between "fat" or "pregnant" but apparently I'm obviously pregnant now(:
Avatar f tn I don`t think it was normal when I grew up but nowadays our environment is bombarded with estrogen in the food chain and estrogen-like chemicals. I do see that adolescents of both sexes look very "feminized" but it usually seems to straighten itself out. If you are worried, I would get his hormonal balance checked. The whole situation of hormonal disruptions is pretty disturbing but that`s a whole separate debate.
15695260 tn?1549593113 Recent research has proven one risk for our children to have Autism and that is high levels of estrogen in the womb. For a very long time, the cause has been widely unknown and that this factors in is an important development in autism research. Prior studies had already implicated higher uterine concentrations of male sex hormones -- androgens -- in increasing the odds and now researchers and doctors have more information to better understand autism.
Avatar f tn She explained the inability to lose weight due to estrogen being decreased, but since we still need the estrogen (that ironically and sadly) our body is not producing as much anymore, the body gets it from our fat storeage, so in essence our body is not letting go of fat as easy, because it is using the estrogen stores in our fat. She also said our body has estrogen receptors everywhere, from our brains to our toes, and metabolism is one area affected from estrogen loss.

Avatar n tn My gyne oncologist has put me on Tamoxifen for giving me some protection. It appears that Tamoxifen has caused swelling of my feet which is hurting when I walk. Is there any other alternate to Tamoxifen? I am taking Evista and Actos for diabetes. Thanks for your advice.
Avatar f tn t be scared, just try to make these necessary changes, walk daily, drink pure water and cut out all sugars and try to eat organic foods when available. Most of our food has fake hormones in it, thus causing even more hormonal imbalance, it amazes me how we manage to stay as healthy as we are.
