In a club last night I accidentally touched the bag of the girl I was talking to. And I felt with my finger something very sharp pierced through the bag. As I was drunk I didn't care about it that moment, but now I think that the girl looked like I might believe that she is a drug user. So, I'm worried if it might be a needle. But I don't know whether it went through my skin or not.

Regarding needle sticks I was told that it’s not risk even if someone had used needle and then that needle had pierced my finger as I’ve been informed that this isn’t risk because it’s not needle for via the vein why is this because health care workers are considered a risk if they get needle stick via the finger...
i undertstood lancing devices are (one single use)
but what about if the needle from the lancer get smirt with infected blood when is still not uses. and is done righ away to new patience? is chance of infection?

I have about 5 needle like, or pin prick like dots on one of my fingers tips. It started as one but now I noticed there is about 5. They are small and not very noticeable, but if you look closely you can see them. They hurt if pressure is applied. I don’t recall seeing this before. Possibly something similar when I had warts on my foot, so that’s all that I know it could be. Does anyone have any explanations? Also, can pictures be posted so it’s easier to see what I’m talking about?
i mean just remove the needle afterblood drawing , there was still bleeding at the place of needle prick and then hiv person whose finger was also bleeding press his finger against my hand ( place of needle prick ).both are fresh bleeding.
1)your answer is no ...i would like to know that
1) is it not the possible way that the hiv person blood can enter my body ?

I am working as a nurse in a hospital, before 1 week i had a needle stick accidentally in my finger after performing an IM injection for a patient, i think the needle stick was superficial bcoz i didn't even bleed from my finger, but really am so afraid now
what is the possibility that i will get infected with HIV if that person was infected with it??? and when can i test to make sure that every thing is ok??

when i came in I had an itchy feeling, looked down at my finger and noticed the finger is bleeding, some half cm long scratch (bled only a little like when you have a scratch some blood comes out you suck it and then it stops wothin a few minutes). I sucked the blood and thenvlooked in the ashtray - and a used syringe was lying there... It could be there for a minute, it also could be there for twenty minutes i dont know.

Then i squeezed and press my finger to see if some blood might come out of it. But i did not even see even one small dot of blood coming out. so then i did not open bag as i thought it might be something else.
Thanks James, she doesn't think she was injected, it was on her finger,and her finger did bleed, but the pt had a very high viral load. she has seen 3 drs and is extremely ill at the moment. Dr say its cause of the pep. But the Drs she has spoken too all seem to have different things to say. One dr said use a condom for a month, the other says 6 weeks , and the 3rd says 6 months. But they all seem to be optimistic that she should be ok.... Any thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated .

The only problem was that she was using her bare finger and touched my needle wound in the process. I do not know if she washed her hands before doing this and I did not see any blood or cuts on the bottom of her finger but I still would like to know if I could have been exposed to HIV if she was positive for it and had a cut on her finger when she touched the bare needle wound that had not healed yet.
As we pulled up at our destination i dropped some money underneath the seat i then stuck my hand under the seat to try and get the money to find a sharp pain in the end of my finger when i then looked my finger was bleeding. I did not see what it was that caused this but there is no visable cut to my finger.

I vaguely remember feeling a sharp pain when I went to shake someones hand in drunken friendliness. There seems to be a little red dot on the end of my finger but I can't remember if that was from falling over or something else.. I was so drunk I can't give more details. I did seem to get diarrohea and stomach cramps 2 days after which subsided after a day but I don't know if that was due to that, the amount of alcohol I had or a mild case of food poisoning.
hello dr, somedays ago when i was giving local anesthetics to a pt the pt moved his hand so fast that i failed to observe any potential needle prick on my hand, but i felt a dull pain on the lateral side of my middle finger near the joint. aI was useing a21G hollow bore needle. after that I removed my gloves( i was useing double gloves) and washed the area with a lot of water but i did not find out any breach or pore or any sort of bleeding from that area.
