I'm a musician. I play guitar and cello. Now, I've played guitar long enough where I over time developed calluses on my finger tips. However, now for cello I need a callus on the side of my thumb for a certain technique but I don't have time to develop it for weeks or months. If I regularly cut away at my thumb with a razor or something will a callus still build by means of artificial friction ?

Again, this is really an issue of moving the same finger (or group of fingers, or ankle) "up and down" repeatedly above a certain speed. Like 8th notes at 170 bpm or so.
I was recently diagnosed with RSD after an injury to my wrist (fall on outstretched hand). My right arm is constantly painful (burning), cold with goosebumps, ring finger and pinky sweat like crazy, and very pale. I've begun physiotherapy, and they are using intramuscular stimulation to treat it. My ring finger and pinky are curled in so that they touch the palm of my hand, and there is significant ulnar deviation at my wrist.
My husband is a musician. He plays at a lot of bars. Many times there are girls crowding him on the stage. These girls seem to be obsessed with him. Many times they will do something stupid and he'll either start talking about me or I'll come up to him. I have never seen people run as fast as they do when they realize that he is taken.
My husband is not the best looking person in the world. So I think these girls are excited about the fact that he is a musician.
I am a 35 year old male and touring musician and for the last couple of months i have had alot of numbness in my pinky and ring finger and sometimes up the backside of my hand up to my elbow at first it was really mild ,but has got worse in the last couple of weeks, i also noticed that if i put pressure on my elbow my fingers go numb instantly.I am having alot trouble getting through shows and i have noticed some weakness in my grip, any ideas on what this could be?
Over the past couple months or so, I have developed a whitish/yellowish spot off to one side from the tip of my index finger, on the fleshy part about 3/16" away from the nail. It is soft, not hard like a wart and doesn't have any other wartlike characteristics that I can see or feel.
Horrible to have such a great artist pass. But due to pain killers, it is going to make our world worse. The real solutions are nebulous it seems.
there is always a underlying level of pain that is present, plus pain rises and falls every few minutes from the extraction point, i.e.. the socket, it is very localised. I have had root canals carried out on both the teeth either side or No.6 so the nerves are no longer present. I do not suffer from any.....
Several times since I have had intense pain that shows up randomly in the same spot. A few weeks ago it started to hurt even worse than it did when I initially broke it. It won't go away and I can barely use my hand at all. Even small movements can set it off including spreading my fingers apart. I'm a gifted musician and I'm very worried about it. I live in upstate NY and we have several inches of snow right now.
I was diagnosed with MS in August of this year and this finger pain was one of the earliest symptoms after I fainted in Feb (but had no idea that was anything serious) - I went to a rheumatologist for the finger pain and he couldn't find anything but did think I had carpal tunnel and the nerve test for that is what started me on the path to a MS diagnosis.
I was pulling open my cars jammed ashtray, it was stuck so I pulled harder and my 2 fingers....
Do you have any pain or pressure in the back of your head, or feel like your neck is tight and tense. Does the hearing come and go in both ears or just one ear? Do any of these symptoms occur during the day, or just when you are lying down? We need a little more input. Do you have any hearing loss? Any noise in your ears during the day?

I have acupuncture quite often, and although it's usually a bit painful (I'm very sensitive to needles) it usually does help. Last time I went to the therapist for treating injuries in my feet, he put a needle in my wrist, between the thumb and the lower arm (between scaphoid and radius).

At me a problem with lips. I the musician play a wind instrument, lips participate in play. 5 years ago was engaged much and "has changed" lips: sensations have changed at game, notes not always undertake. In 2010 has addressed in polyclinic neurologists recommended neyromidin, then oktalipen. There is an improvement especially from oktalipen. But completely hasn't returned нормальнное a condition. A neuropathy of an obverse or trigeminal nerve.
And if i should add, sometimes i feel pain on the left side of my chest, kinda like a sharp/stabbing type, or sometimes it will be a heavy pain. But what is really strange is the Lightheadedness/whoosyness feeling that is with all of this.
My guess is to just get more exercise, and since im a musician, i stay in the house for hours on end making music...I don't eat horribly bad, no soda/burgers. But sometimes we all do, right?
