i smashed my finger with a bowling ball it automaticaly whent numb and then a severe pain ocurred for about an hour or more. but now it is extremely swollen and purple at the palm part of my finger closest to the palm but not at the tup it is numb and cold. im worried what do i do?

I'm just over 34 weeks. For the last week or so, I've been waking up in the middle of the night and morning to really bad finger pain that lasts for aw hile! It's hard to bend my fingers and sometimes they make a popping feeling when I bend them. Middle three fingers on each hand are the worst. During the day, they're not "as" sore, but still a little. I can't seem to find anything about this in my baby books. My hands don't look swollen. Anyone else have this??

Thanks for the response! Since I am only in pain when pressure is applied to the finger I'll probably hold off on taking the Naproxen unless the pain gets worse.

if your palms and finger tips looks as if it has blood clots is this a early warning of a heart condition

The ER is designed to rule out the life-threatening is not so great for anything else. May I suggest about the difficulty swallowing and chest pain, you may want to get a referral (which I think your family doctor will go along with) to a gastrointestinal specialist to get diagnostic testing to confirm or rule out the diagnosis of acid reflux? Esophageal spasms can feel like you are having a heart problem.

ll ask about an ECG...Im hoping my arm pain is not related to my heart. But do you think that chest contractions and cause numbness/tingling in my left hand/finger tips too?

Thank you for your reply! The area is not sensitive to touch it just seems to be inside that hurts! And I'vewoke up today, still with my cough but as I cough it doesn't seem to be hurting my heart at the moment so finger crossed its getting better! I'm going doctor today so I'll just mention it to them and see what they think aswell :) Thanks again!

then found a Dr that would see me without insurance on thursday and he sent me straight back... they checked my heart enzymes and told me I had a heart attack... and my enzymes continued to climb during the night. A heart cath on saturday morning showed damaged heart muscle and a collapsed small artery that they could not stent. I am home on medication now.

by doing so, you probably do not have a heart issue. Real heart pain is something you cannot literally put your finger on, for reasons having to do with embryology. I would guess that some muscular movement you made in response to fright quite literally strained or tore a little muscle in your chest wall.
