Avatar f tn How are you? Trigeminal neuralgia (TN) is a neuropathic disorder of the trigeminal nerve that causes episodes of intense pain in the eyes, lips, nose, scalp, forehead, and jaw. 387767 tn?1345872027 Ear pain, Jaw pain and Headaches can be due to TMJ ( Tempromandibular Joint Dysfunction). TMJ is common in patients with Fibromyalgia. Do you grind /clench your teeth at night? Do you mostly get this pain after waking up from sleep? Then most likely it's TMJ. Also, If your dentist mentions that you have some teeth-wear ( Attrition), then you are most likely grinding/clenching your teeth at night. Though I don't know what the reason could be for your throat closing up...

Avatar n tn There is no typical cardiogenic chest pain, which is crushing precordial pain radiating to the jaw, arm and neck, relieved with sublingual nitrates. other possibilities for the muscle spasms can be chest injuries, previous chest surgery, possible culprit, any history of athletics, stress fractures , pulled chest muscles. Fibromyalgia is an important condition of chronic fatigue which causes severe muscle pain, with muscle spasms in chest.
Avatar f tn The main thing to keep in mind (and you may have to stress this to your doctor) is that pain knows no age restrictions and fibromyalgia pain is no different. It IS very possible to have fibro even at your young age. If, after your doctor appointment, you don't feel like you are getting satisfactory care or results, do not hesitate to seek a second opinion, even searching for a rheumatologist.
1147984 tn?1261626788 I am having all of these symptoms - started with the neck pain, then the eye pain, then severe migraine headaches, and now I have jaw pain. My husband thinks I am a hypocondriac! And the migraine pain I swear started in my thigh one night showed up in the side of my chest the next night and then the back of my head!
Avatar m tn Fibromyalgia would be more muscular pain. Look up diagnosing Fibromyalgia- there is 18 specific tender points which are painful in ppl with it and other criteria needed to be diagnosed as Fibro. Does she have inflammation at the joints and increase pain with activity? This might suggest arthritis. I would suggest to keep seeing her doctor and following through with tests. This may take time bc they have to rule things out.
Avatar f tn I was told it couild be TMJ and an orthadontist told me once, that my jaw was too small. Now I was just wondering what it could be. Not much takes away the pain tylonal only works for a couple hours and I've used joint cream which only works for a small amount of time. When it hurts, it creates large headaches that sometimes make me lightheaded. I was wondering if anyone would recomend anything to help it.

Avatar n tn I have SLE Lupus so I have had symptoms I believe are related to that, arthritis, joint pain, fatigue to name a few. I originally went to see the ENT because I had swelling from my upper jaw down the side of my neck. I was pretty sure it was a tooth that had been capped the previously year since that's when it all started but wanted to rule out anything else. She said it was probably lupus related and suggested I get physical therapy.
Avatar f tn In some fibromyalgia patients problems started with dental infection(s) that spread regionally and then eventually systemically. After their infection(s) became systemic, they were dx with fibromyalgia syndrome. Intractable jaw infections are infections that often involve the bone and are particularly difficult to treat with systemic approaches, such as antibiotics. Unfortunately, successful treatment often requires that the infected bone be ablated.

Avatar f tn I ended up with a diagnosis of Fibromyalgia when in fact the top 1/4 of my sternum was sitting horizontally because I had an undiagnosed dislocated Sterno-Manubrial Joint (angle of louis). There was an injury that seemed minor at the time. My symptoms expanded from initial shoulder and back pain > neck pain > hip pain > throat pain > jaw pain *and it wasn't until more than 5 years later* that I got noticeable rib or chest pain.
2015036 tn?1332997788 I posted a question here a few days ago, and I haven't gotten any responses. Please, even if you aren't sure, I need opinions... I already have multiple sclerosis, but I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia too- so I don't know what to attribute these symptoms to. I have been experiencing these things: *Waking up severely choking on saliva- not able to breath for a painful length of time. *Difficulty chewing when eating- like my jaws are are losing strength.
Avatar f tn It felt like the tooth was stabbing me in the jaw with a knife. The tooth and jaw both hurt, from the joint to the nose and went as high up as the cheek bone. The pain was so bad, I couldn't do anything but lie in bed. I tried pain medication, Oragel, and everything else people suggested. The only thing that helped, I discovered on Saturday, was ice (and not talking or eating).
1033336 tn?1252506131 The characteristic feature of Fibromyalgia is a muscle pain mostly in neck, back, thighs, and hips. There is presence of specific tender points in these areas that trigger the pain. Along with this there is morning stiffness in the muscles, brain fog, dizziness and other neurological symptoms. Since you are suffering from pain specifically located at the joints, and it started after the flu, the pains are related to the viral infection.
