Common Questions and Answers about Fibromyalgia jewelry

fibromyalgia

I have trouble sleeping and many nights may only get 3-4 hrs of sleep, even with muscle relaxers. My primary physician believes I have fibromyalgia, he sent my to a rheumatologist. The rheumy did not even take a health history! I told him my symptoms which had recently worsened. I was experiencing spasms and twitching in my legs and feet, along with numbness. My toes have a bluish/purple cast to them and are ice cold year round.
It is the same as Fibromyalgia...purple. I will locate the chart and let you see it.....I have a friend who has been making the jewelry for chiari and I can PM u a link if u r interested in seeing what her's look like.
My necklace broke me out because I'm allergic to cheap jewelry. Its been 3 weeks now and my neck and face look like I do crystal meth. Which I have never done. or at least I don't think I've ever done. anyway, when I pick it hurts and the more it hurts the more I do it. How frickin retarded is that? I just want to know I'm not the only one. I can go months with out picking at all. Then I just get so engrossed in picking and pain................
You need to get into a pain management clinic. They treat fibromyalgia and can give you better treatment then the neuro you are currently seeing. Good luck.
My Neurologist (who put me first on Mirtazon and then Doxepin) told me he cannot find anything neurologically wrong with me and is clasping at straws with fibromyalgia (which Rheumo says I don't have so have stopped taking Neuros meds.) I live in Australia and my Rheumo told me that diagnositically between him and the Neuro they had exhausted all optionse.
I am so sorry to hear what you are suffering. It makes my fibromyalgia and L4 symptoms seem like nothing. I hope that someone with more experience than I will post. The pain that you describe in your lower back sounds just like L4 pressure. There is also a condition which is called piriformis syndrome. The piriformis muscle, located in the buttock region, spasms and causes buttock pain.
Now the pain is awful. I am on disability. My favorate hobby is Playing around with jewelry, photroghy and wood burning. This has been a hard week. I wanted to stop pain pills but 2 doctors said I'll never be able to. The next day my mother in law died. I'll try to check in often. I have found in the past that sugar and certain carbs really set me off. I'll be in touch through the funeral.
The heightened discomfort is because of neurotransmitter dysregulation, very prevalent in Fibromyalgia and one of the suspected causative factors. If modern medicine would be kinder and more considerate to its patients, then neurotransmitter testing would be available to all Fibro patients. Instead it is reserved for... you probably guessed it. Pharmaceutical Research to manufacture more psych. and anti-depressant drugs!!!
If I am in the car, the air conditioning touches me, it hurts. The feel of clothing, bedding and jewelry also hurt. The pain is terrible and sometimes almost unbearable. My walking is being affected as well. My blood pressure is also being affected as it is extremely high. My question is: What is the usual prognosis for Cervical Myelopathy & Radiculopathy (Non-surgical)? How bad can this get? I would appreciate any feedback.
I have to sleep on a -U- shaped pillow, because ANY pressure on my throat makes me gag (this includes collars and jewelry). They sent me to the ENT for that, and since he couldn't find anything wrong, he figured I should live the rest of my life on acid reflux medicine.... OMG! I don't have acid reflux, I have scarring from anterior cervical surgery and my throat's messed up. Why can we figure this out and they can't? . I know I'm not alone with this....Any thoughts?
Drinking herbal tea containing senna may help give pain-free relief from constipation. 12. Heavy jewelry, scarves, ties, tight collars, bras, rings, bracelets and watches might feel uncomfortable. Adopt a casual life style and don't wear them. 13. Try to avoid waiting in lines where stutter stepping is involved. Uneven surfaces or checkered designs in floors maybe difficult to walk on. Thing is, she had chronic pain for 40 years and it was really only in the last 5 or 10 that she was the way I am now ... and the worst of my pain has only been going on 6 years. (I had fibromyalgia diagnosed 10 or 11 years ago, but I had that under good control.) I guess this is just a rant or a vent. I know what I NEED to do but I just can't seem to DO it. Does anyone else feel like this? Sometimes I think I have just too much time on my hands and too much time to think.
Does she sell the jewelry or do the patrons donate an amt of money and they receive a certain piece of jewelry for that donation? Like PBS does for their concert shows? Oh, well, I am up for anything today. Don't know about tomorrow but today is the limit. ha ha. Well, I have been going at it for awhile, starting to spell backwards!!!!
We are eating lots of veggies and fruits in addition to mostly chicken for protein. Sleep has been an issue for years (according to the Dr.s I also have fibromyalgia). I do drink a LOT of water. Most of what I drink is filtered water. My Endo here has been monitoring my hormone levels closely and up through the last visit had been adjusting the hydrocortisone.

Hello, I suffered from what I thought was chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS) and fibromyalgia (FM) for 9.5 years. Below is a list of things that have helped me. I wanted to pass them along in hopes that they may help someone else. I am not a medical practitioner. Always consult a physician before starting/stopping any medication, etc. How It Started: On Thursday, Sept. 27th, 2001, I went to bed feeling fine. The next morning, Friday, I woke up feeling like I hadn't slept.
Im desperate for someone to fix me at least bring me to a 4-5 pain lvl and give me back more feeling in my fingers. I design beaded jewelry and I cant do that now with the pain and numbness.
My husband was diagnosed with fibromyalgia about four months ago. One of his "friends" gave him some oxy for the pain. It all started out innocently enough, but of course it has recently snowballed. The last two months he's been distant, cold, uninvolved (NOT like himself). Our normally very active and fulfilling sex life disappeared. In the last month I've caught him snorting pain pills, and in the last two weeks he's jumped to smoking them.

Check your family history and see if people have celiacs (gluten intolerance), fibromyalgia, schogrens, chronic fatigue, and any other auto-immune disorders. If they're older, or even younger, they may have never been diagnosed with these things - but if they've had mysterious mood, pain, allergenic, or reproductive issues that were never identified, that could point to auto-immune, which could point to celiacs.
I have the same symptoms as sammy. In addition I have been recently told that I have fibromyalgia. I had neither of this stuff however prior to 2 years ago when a whelpy, patchy rash appeared first on my back and side and have now made its way to my extremities. It is unresponsive to steroids and other meds. I have seen 3 dermatologists, done 2 biopsies that are inconclusive for mitosis fungoidis and I bruise very easily. Could all this be related.
She has been to eye doctors, skin doctors, and they are just trying different meidications with no luck. She is alergic to some metals in jewelry, and that this might be an allergic reaction to titanium. Is there anyone else with this possible problem.
The funny part was seeing my navel piercing jewelry show up on the flouroscopy picture. LOL I look so straight, the nurses were chuckling and saying "hey, we got ourselves a sexy mama here and we didn't even know it" I was glad they had a sense of humor. Basically, my Doc wants me to have fusion, and the surgeons asked him to be sure I had this injection done first, as it is diagnostic for them whether I respond to it or not. Doc says I need fusion.
Silver is best used for jewelry, so I would wear it outside, not inside. Seriously, it can turn the skin gray, and there is no proof it works.
I recall reading somewhere that many times people w/ hypothyroid are erroneously diagnosed with chronic fatigue syndrom or fibromyalgia because of the muscle pain/spasms but are on further evaluation, actually diagnosed with hypothyroidism. lissamay: no, I haven't heard of any special diets, however, I can tell you that nutrition plays a huge role in the body's ability to heal and maintain itself so a healthful, balanced diet is your best bet (e.g., avoid the junk food as much as possible).
http://chronicfatigue.about.com/b/2009/03/07/painful-to-touch-fibromyalgia-tactile-allodynia.htm It is hard in today's envoirnment to not stress so be sure to make time for (1) at least one thoughtfully prepared meal and take the time to enjoy it (2) a few minutes at end of day to meditate on day and (3) solve what you have control over but the rest you must 'let it go.' as you cannot solve everyone's problems., and as Paul the Apostle said, 'if there be anything good, think on this!.
He winds up being tops in the field of Fibromyalgia reseach and treatment at Johns Hopkins. I tried a med, I once used before and its working on my pain and energy. Old friends are coming out of the woodwork!? I guess that's a sign that I will be able to handle the energy it takes to socialize. I'm sleeping! I never thought after the last two or more years of not being able to get out to mail a letter that I would be feeling optimistic.
we had kicked her out in dec. 2011 only one month before for stealing lots of jewelry and money from us. she called so many times from prison crying said she was done, she is going to change, she met a woman who she had been praying with and reading the bible with. ( my daughter was raised in a Pentecostal church). we made the 5 hour round trip to bail her out. I thought she was done. I was so wrong. she stayed in the house for about a week and then she was off and running again.
